Finding Megg

Violet's POV

I was in the middle of talking with my mom and Rose when Chris barged into the room frantically. "Chris? What happened?" I ask, feeling quite worried by his action. 

His eyes roam over the room. "Where is she?" He asked, sounding quite angry. This time, Rose was the one to question him. "Chris, use your words. What is going on and who are you looking for?" 

"MEGG!" He shouts at his mother, but looking guilty right afterwards. "Sorry mom. I'm just stressed. Megg is apparently the one behind sending hunters after Violet." 

My mouth drops open. 

"What? That can't be right. She would never do something like that. There's no reason for it. She's my friend."  My wolf whimpers at the thought of my own friend trying to kill me. 

Chris walks over to me and sits beside me on the bed. He places his face in the crook of my neck and takes in a deep breath to help calm down. He then takes Benjamin in his arms and smiles at his son. "We will get to the bottom of this. I promise. Until then, I have guards outside this room until you are discharged. Then they will be stationed outside our bedroom."

"Mom, Daisy, do you mind staying with her until she's discharged?" 

Having guards outside the door is one thing, but to ask both mother's to babysit me is frustrating. "Chris, stop. I'm not a baby! I don't need to be watched." 

He sighs. 

"Sweetheart, he's just being protective of you. Rose and I will give you space though." Mom says calmly. "Yes, and if you need us, just call." Rose then turns to her son. "I understand your concern, but she has a point. She's not a little child. She's an alpha just as well as you are. She's strong.  Trust her." She says as she grabs his hand. 

"You're right, mom. I'm sorry Violet. I just refuse to lose you again. It hurts too much." I place a hand on his face and kiss him. "I love you. I'll be here with Benny. Plus, the nurses are constantly checking in on me. I won't be alone for long. Go find Megg, but please don't hurt her. I want to speak with her." 

He doesn't look pleased about that last part. "I love you. I'll let you know the second we have her here. I love you. Both of you." He kiss me and then Benny. "Thanks mom, thanks Daisy." And just like that, he's out the door. 

"Mom, where's my phone?" I ask, but she looks at me disapprovingly. 

"Don't even think about calling her." She states, sounding annoyed by my request. 

"Fine." I know I sound like a little child, after just saying I'm not. I just refuse to believe my friend is behind this. She's so sweet. There's no way she's anything like Liam was. Ugh. Just the thought of him makes me shiver. 

Chris's POV

As I get outside, I see that Noah already gathered a group of men to track down Megg. "Good. Now that you're here, let's go!" We all shift into our wolves and head towards the Full Moon pack. Megg left not too long ago, so we should be able to catch up to her. 

I should have known that she would be just as rotten as her brother. If she really is the one behind all of this s**t, I want to be the one to tear her limb from limb. I can't believe she fooled us, all of us. I genuinely  thought she was Violet's friend. Was this just to get revenge for her brother's death? It can't be. She was so happy to be rid of him. Maybe it wasn't her, but the description and name is too exact to be a coincidence

. "FOUND HER!" I hear Avery's voice shout in the pack link. I pick up my pace and find a frightened looking Megg next to my mate's father. 

"Alex!" She shouts and he goes running to her, much to Noah's dismay. He let's out a loud growl, and Alex turns to look at him angrily. Alex then proceeds to hug Megg while she sobs. "Alex, what the hell is going on? Why am I being demanded to go back to your pack? My people need me, I have to go home." 

"You are coming with us and that is final. If you refuse, I will kill you before allowing a fair trial." Noah sneers at her. Damn. He is pissed. 

She throws her hands up in a surrendering motion. "Okay, I'll go." 

Noah's POV

Un-f*****g-believeable. How could my own mate, my husband, hug a traitor. Rage is running through my veins and I want to tear Megg apart. At least she came to her senses and is following us back to the pack without a fight. 

Be nice to mate. She was his best friend and only friend before Violet came along. My wolf reminds me in my head. I sigh, knowing he's right. 

By the time we reach home, night has already fallen. "Lock her up. We will deal with this in the morning." I tell two of my guards and they take her to the cells. I'm surprised when Alex doesn't argue about that. Instead, he just feels upset. I can feel it through our bond and from his facial expression. 

"Let's go to bed." I suggest as I go to grab his hand, but he pulls away. "You go ahead. I'll be in the guest room tonight."  He let's out a deep breath. "I love you, Noah. I just need some time alone." He gives me a quick peck before heading to the room across from mine. My wolf is now angry with me for upsetting our mate and not being able to sleep near him tonight. I already know I won't be able to sleep without him. 

How did a beautiful wedding end up to be such a shitty day? Seriously. I just married the love of my life this morning and now we are in separate rooms by the end of the night. I definitely did not see this coming.
