"You can let me go now," I demanded to Cameron while we were walking towards the nurses office not so far away from the gym. "Go back to the game." there were a few students in the hallway and looking suspiciously at us. "I can go to the nurses office alone," but Cameron held me even tighter. "Hey," I was looking at her face now. "Did you hear what I just said?" This time Cameron lazily turned to me with a stoic looks. "I'm not deaf!" she looked annoyed. But why and to whom? To me? But i did not do anything. "Let me---" "Stop talking Lizzie." Cameron restrained me with grimaced. "You are giving me a headache!" A deep frown set on my face. "It's Lily not Lizzie!" "Whatever Nerdy." Cameron said a little harsh. I was not sure why she was so upset with me. It was her friend or girlfriend Aerin who started everything. "Grosera!" I muttered between my clentched teeth in frustration. "Yo no soy grosera, tu eres la fastidiosa." Cameron whispered. I felt my cheeks heat up. She knew Spanish and probably understood what i just said. We entered the nurses office and the school nurse rushed to me. Cameron helped me sit down on the bed. "What happened?" the nurse asked as she examined my knee. "Your knee is swollen." she even tired to move my leg to see if it will hurt me but thankfully it was not. "Don't move okay." the nurse left to get some ice and pain killer. "I would like to apologize in behalf of Aerin," Cameron started off. "She is such a b***h sometimes." "Sometimes?" I asked with an underlying tone in my voice. "Fine. Most of time." Cameron corrected herself while burrowing her hands in her pocket. The nurse came back after a few moments, I was very grateful to have taken the ice bag from her. "Is she okay Cyrus? Nothing serious? Like tear of ligaments?" "Yes she is okay," Cyrus, the nurse named smiled at Cameron. "Your friend experienced a grade I sprain, the ligaments may stretch, but they don't actually tear." This is definitely a bad news for me. No one is going to help me at home since my parents are currently working at Bakersfield. I took a deep breath before asking some questions. "So what should i do? To recover as soon as possible?" "Grade I sprains usually heal within a few weeks." the nurse replied. "Resting your knee from painful activity, icing the injury, and some anti-inflammatory medications are useful." Cyrus looked at me. "Do you want me to call your parents? So they can pick you up?" I shook my head. "My parents are not home but i have my car." "But you can't drive with an injured knee." Cyrus protested while writing something to the clipboard. "Do you--" "I will drive Lizzie home." Camera blurted out as she stood up in full of grace. "How many times do I have to tell you that it's Lily not Lizzie!" my brows scrunched together. I have a strong feeling that she intentionally mistaken my nickname to annoy me. Cyrus let a chuckled throat by my outbrust. "And you don't have to, I can manage going home. I'm not crippled." Cameron looked down at me with those beautiful mesmerizing green eyes. Suddenly, I feel naked and defenseless by her stares. "Don't be stubborn Lily," Oh gosh. I want to give Cameron an outsanding ovation because she finally called me by my name. "I will be right back." "Are you new here?" Cyrus asked when Cameron left. She sat down on the chair behind the table. I slowly laid down the bed and relaxed. The pain from my knee is fading, hopefully the swelling too. "Yes," "The principal accepted you in the middle of school year?" Cyrus asked with disbelief. I nodded my head as a yes. "So. How long you have been friends with Cameron?" "We are not friends," I replied without blinking. Cyrus stared at me for awhile, her chocolate brown eyes were suspicious. "Only classmates." "Ohh." Cyrus went silent. I know she wanted to say something but decided against it. The door quietly opened and an upset Cameron came in with our bags. I have a feeling that something happened outside that made her look she wanted to punch someone's face. Cameron wordlessly put something on my knee and all i can do is to watched her long and thick eyelashes sweep up and down as her red lips move in rythm. "Okay." Cameron sighed. "Let's go Lily." my heart swelled by hearing my name from Cameron's mouth naturally. I rose from the bed and walked despite of pain. We said goodbye to Cyrus and thanked her for accomodated me. "Are you okay?" I could not help myself but ask the beautiful girl beside me. Cameron looked at me over her shoulder as we dashed through the crowds. People parted ways when they noticed Cameron coming through. "Why are you asking?" My fingers stilled as i looked at her. "Nothing." you should not have asked her Lily. You guys are not friends. Cameron helped me get inside the car and driving away from school. No one spoke between us but listening into the radio. "Thank you," I told Cameron really lowly, she almost did not hear it. I saw her glance at me then concentrated back on the road. "For helping me and all." "I just want to make it up to you," Now it is me who glanced at her. "For what?" Cameron stepped more on the gas pedal, making the car almost fly. This woman is gonna be the death of me. "Please slow down." A playful smile appeared at the corner of Cameron's lips while slowing down the car. "Making up to you because of Aerin." "I can't say what she has done to me was okay but.." I paused and pressed the back of my head against the headrest. "Can you please at least control your Girlfriend?" Cameron laughed hysterically, shaking her head side to side like a psychopath. "Okay." she acted to wiped her tears off her face. "That was a good freaking joke!" "I'm not joking!" "Whatever Lily." Cameron said with a casual shrug. "My cheeks were hurting. You really made my day!" "Stop there!" I told her when i saw the glimpsed of our house. Cameron did what i told her, she slowly parked the car in our backyard. "Wow!" the green eyed woman gasped while she was scanning the area. "Nice place and house!" Cameron unbuckled the seatbelt and went outside. "Come on Lily!" well at least not Lizzie. She opened the door for me and helped me out of the car. "Where are you going?" I asked confused when Cameron is walking ahead of me going towards the house. "In your house," she said in a duh tone. I tried to trail behind Cameron but the pain started shooting on my knee, down my leg. "Hey.. I'm not even inviting you!" Cameron swiftly turned around with the wind playing with her hair. She is undebiably beautiful and i can't argue about that. "I know you won't do that so," her fingers skillfully tucked her hair behind those heart shape pair of ears. "I'm inviting myself instead!" And before i could argue. I found myself smiling at Cameron's cuteness. I opened the front door and let Cameron entered first. She gasped loudly when she saw inside the immaculate interior of our house. "Do you want anything?" I asked my guest as i went in the dirtless kitchen. All the utensils, appliances etc were all in their right place. "Water? Coffee? Tea?" Cameron stopped looking around and walked on the counter. "You." my face blushed hard earning a mischievous smile on Cameron's luscious lips. "Can i?" I cleared my throat. "Yes," then i handed her a glass. "You can have a cold water." Cameron chuckled, folding her elbows over the counter. "Why are you wearing those glasses?" I suddenly felt a little self conscious by her question. Slowly, I turned my back at her. "The answer is obvious." my tummy growled and made weird noises. I did not really eat today because of the incident in the cafeteria. "Are you hungry?" "A litttle." said Cameron who is now looking at my father's painting collection hanging against the wall in the living room. "Oh gosh. You are a fan of Elena!" "Yeah." I replied shortly, looking at my mother's potriat painted by my father. "Do you want pizza?" "I'm honestly tired of pizza." Cameron sighed. "You don't have to buy anything." she walked towards the fridge and looked at what kind of food we have. "Great!" her beautiful face enlightened as if she found something priceless. "I can cook a steaks with mushroom and gravy." "Can you really cook?" I asked dumbfounded. I thought Cameron was just a pretty face with no talent but to annoy me. "Watch and see!" I gave Cameron all the space and time in the kitchen. Hopefully my father would not mind since he was the king of the kitchen. She looks so happy while cooking. There were times i would offer my help but she declined. While waiting, I took it as opportunity to take a shower. The living room filled with the scent of freshly cooked meat. Stimulating my appetite. "Cameron?" I called her while looking around the empty kitchen but she is nowhere to be seen. Where did she go? "Boooo..." All the hairs on my body rose up in fear when someone whispered in my ear. I was about to turn around when i felt my injured knee twisted painfully making me slowly fall in slow motion. Cameron even tried to catch me before my back touched the floor but it was too late. My heart has been racing and the rush i feel was so intense when Cameron fell on top of me but my body was enveloped by uncertain feelings as we both finally realized that our lips pressed together. I blinked rapidly before immediately pulling away from the kiss as if my lips were scorched. "What is happening??" a voice nearly shouted making Cameron got off me as fast like a bullet. "Who are you? And why are you on top of my daughter?"
