Being in a new school where you know nobody except your friends that you came with should be something nobody wants to experience but strangely enough, I feel like I should've been here a long time ago.
I feel like I belong here with these people. Sure everyone is looking at us oddly but I like it here, going back to London is not going to be easy and I know it, especially if I find the person I seem to be looking for.
I know I've never met the person in question but the scent feels familiar. I can't help but wonder if it's her scent, my mate. The one person I've been dreaming about meeting since I first shifted.
"It feels like home. You know there's nothing that feels wrong about being in this place. It's like this place has been waiting or preparing for our arrival. It's so peaceful and quiet. Nothing I've seen all my life." Amar said sitting next to me.
"It is peaceful. I thought I was the only one who felt like that. It's like I'm home, not like London though but still home. I guess we are all drawn here. There has to be something about this place that causes that."
"This is the first time I hear rich people who just arrived in San Francisco say that about this place. Many people say that this is not a place for the rich unless you go to the surrounding towns. You guys must really love the place or you're just trying to justify being here. I'm Logan by the way. Logan Morningstar." A black-haired guy said extending his hand for a handshake.
"Nice to meet you, Logan," I said shaking his hand. "I'm Aiden Black. These are my friends, Amar Anand and Crystal Michaelson. We're new here, though you seem to have figured that out. Vanilla and ocean, a very strange scent for a guy."
"What?"
"Your smell. You smell like vanilla and ocean. Forget I said that though."
"You're a very strange guy you know that. I smell like my sister. I'm always around her maybe that's why I smell like her. I don't even like vanilla. It's nice to meet you guys. If you need anything you can always look for me and it will be delivered to you. I'm the school's student president, so I'll be in a better position to help you with anything school-related or not. Have a good day."
After he left I realized that my wolf was submissive around him. Strange. Keaton doesn't do that for anybody, even my father, and my father is a very dominant and powerful werewolf. Who is this guy?
"Did you guys feel that? My wolf submitted to him just now." Amar asked, drawing me out of thoughts.
"Yeah, mine too. Who is he?" Crystal asked too. I guess I'm not the only one.
"I have no idea. I doubt he's a werewolf though because we would've known. He's strange. I was able to identify his scent as human but it is a strange scent. There's something about it, I can't put my finger on it."
"What if he's an alpha and he has someone hiding his scent? A witch or a warlock. We are doomed if we are in his territory and maybe he's waiting for us to ask for permission to stay here or he's going to kick us out. He didn't seem surprised by you saying he smelled like vanilla. He even said he smells like his sister. I'm telling you, he's a werewolf. But how do we prove he's one?" Amar asked.
"I have no idea. If he's a werewolf then he'll reveal himself eventually. Let's not do anything drastic or we might blow our chance of being... Wait, he said he smells like his sister right? What if she's the one that I'm looking for? I mean he also smells the same but that is his scent and it's not the one I smelled when we got here. It's way too different."
"What do you mean? It's vanilla and the ocean too. How is it different?"
"I don't know. I was drawn to that scent, I still am but it's different. It's like two opposite things. There was nothing strange about it, not like this guy's own."
"There's only one way to find out if you're right or not. Let's have a party. My party, I mean it's my birthday today, so we can invite him to the party and ask him to bring his sister along too. Maybe his friends too if he likes. That way you'll be able to meet his sister. Maybe she's your mate. It will save us some trouble of having to ask around about his sister. It's a win-win situation. I'll have a party and you'll meet the person you've been dying to meet all your life. So what do you say?"
"I think it's a good plan if you ask me. I could use a friend too. Don't get me wrong but being around you guys all the time is going to get people talking. Most people already know where we come from and they know we're from wealthy families. Being around you guys all the time will make people think that I'm so full of myself and that I don't associate myself with people with poor backgrounds. I need a friend while I'm here. And that friend has to be a girl too."
"Love, It seems you weren't paying attention to that guy. I could tell he's from a rich family. Don't let the idea of him being in this school fool you. He's rich and I bet he's richer than anyone in this school. So if you want to be friends with his sister that means you'll be encouraging them to talk about you being around the rich only. Just saying." Amar said to Crystal. He makes sense. I guess Crystal didn't look at it that way.
"You don't have to look at it that way. You'll have a friend. It doesn't matter what people will say. They'll always talk and you know that. I'll go and invite him and ask him to bring his sister along."
"No need for that. My sister is not here. Sorry for eavesdropping, I was just passing by when I realized you guys are talking about inviting me to a party or something. Don't worry I'll be there. My sister won't though, but don't worry I'm sure she'll be pleased to have a new friend when she comes back." Logan said coming to us. I wonder how much he heard.
I gave him an address to the place that we're leaving in. He said he'll bring his friends and ask them to bring friends over too. It's gonna be a great party.
