I'm officially 18, and tonight is my party. Surreal would be an understatement. Not 7 months ago I thought I wouldn't make it to this day, but I am shutting that out of my mind right now and going to enjoy every second of it. It's tradition in Winter River that when a she-wolf turns 18, the Alpha and Luna throw them a Masqureade party. My party is no different. I wanted to spend the morning by myself, and prepare for later. I decided to jump in the shower before I called the girls to my room. I asked my mom if it could just be the three of us when we got ready. I needed bonding time with them, just them. Our fresh blood bags had been delivered to us this morning, so I was feeling pretty good. I went to the bathroom and turned on the water. Turned on some music and climbed in. Dancing to the music, I started washing from head to toe. While I was rinsing off, the song Get The Party Started by P!nk came on, and next thing I know I was singing at the top of my lungs. Suddenly, the shower curtain ripped open, and I screamed at whoever had done it. "WHAT THE ACTUAL f**k!!!!!!!!!!!" There stood Jillian and Eve, laughing like a couple of hyenas. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" they hollered. You would have thought we were mad women. All of us cackling like some game hens. The two girls went into my bedroom after I had politely told them to f**k off, and I grabbed my robe. I strolled in after them and laid down the game plan and rules. Tonight we will not be Debbie Downers no matter what. It's time for us to have some fun and let loose. If what I suspect to be true, even I will have my mate by night's end. We all chose our dresses and got ready. Three omega's had come to do our hair and make-up and mom finally came to collect us for the birthday feast. We walked down the stairs hand in hand. Once at the bottom, Nigel and Tomas were waiting for their mates, dressed to the nines. Jillian and Eve kissed my cheek and went to them. I started to make my way to the banquet hall, and Snow started howling in my head. "Mate is here Kaia, go to him." she purred. I almost got to the door and his smell hit me. Coffee and vanilla, the most intoxicating scent I have ever experienced. Looking up, I see him, Alpha Mason. Our eyes met and in unison we both whispered "Mate!" He touched my face and sparks went through my body. "Happy birthday Kaia," he smiled. I tried to speak, but words wouldn't come out so I just mouthed thank you. Both of us standing there unsure of what to say, he takes my hand and pulls me into a nearby hallway. "You are stunning my little mate", he says. He places his forehead against mine. I took a deep breath, then moved my lips to his. He pulls away before finally crashing his on mine. Deeping the kiss the longer we stand there, and he finally pulls me closer to him. Hearing giggling, we turned around to see Jillian, Tomas, Eve and Nigel standing there watching us. "Sorry to interrupt, but dad is calling for you." Tomas said. I replied, "Um...yeah... OK...be right there." Mason and I started laughing as they walked away. He looked at me with a huge grin on his face and asked my full name and after I told him, he said "I, Mason Edward Stone, Alpha of The Summer Springs Pack, accept you Kaia Elowyn Larsen, daughter of Alpha Hardin Larsen of Winter River Pack, as my goddess given mate. Do you accept me as well?"

I stood there in shock, we had just met and he had already accepted me. I stood speechless for a moment before I went into his arms and said, "I, Kaia Elowyn Larsen, accept you Alpha Mason Edward Stone, as my fated mate. Forever and always." He kissed my lips and put his face in the crook of my neck, inhaling my scent. We started back to the banquet hall, our hands intertwined, my dad waiting outside the doorway. He sees us coming and notices our hands, and a huge smile graced his chiseled features. He nods his head, hugs me, and gives Mason a slap on the back. "Welcome to the family son." Once we enter, everyone's eyes are on us as we go to our table. I just smile and wave. I can hear him chuckle at my actions. I hug my family and friends as I make my way to my seat. As I sat next to my Mother, Mason sat next to me. She reaches across and puts her hand on his. "Welcome to our crazy family, Mason. We are happy to have you." He nodded to her in appreciation. We all chatted while we ate, and everyone commented on the great choice of menu. I chose Greek and Mediterranean food for the menu. Everything from lamb and duck to feta and pesto pasta, to fresh cheeses, fruits and roasted vegetables. Instead of a regular birthday cake, I opted for a Meyer lemon cake with honey drizzle, as well as different Greek desserts.

As I was eating, I saw my dad get up and go out of the room. He comes back in, but this time he isn't alone. There are three males, and a female with him. I see my dad bend to speak to Eve, and she gasps and stands to face the visitors. It dawns on me that it's her parents. I try not to stare and give them their moment, but I can't look away. Nigel is now standing with Eve comforting her and trying to calm her nerves. The woman walks up to Eve and places her hand on her face as her tears are spilling out. Eve is crying as well. Eve falls into the woman's embrace and they hold onto each other for dear life. Their reunion makes me happy, this day just couldn't get any better.
