The Escaping Luna

**Kaia POV** Everything is quiet. I sit in my locked room waiting for the right time to make my move. Taking this risk will be worth it in the end. It's been 7 months since I was taken from my pack, Winter River. My name is Kaia Larsen. I am 17 years old, and will be 18 in just over a week from now. I recently got my wolf, Snow, but will have to wait until the first full moon after my birthday to see her. As we wolves do not have our first shift until then. However, I'm not sure what is in store for me now. Since....since he gave me his venom. The Vampire King, Luca Krone, is the bastard who felt the need to steal me and try to make me his. All he did was make me hate him, and make the need to get as far away from him as I could even stronger. I hear footsteps coming toward my door, and I pray to the moon goddess, that it's one of my closest friends here, Jillian. I hold my breath as the doorknob turns, and the door opens. I breathe out a sigh of relief as it is her in all her splendor. Her wild, blonde curls and her large, toothy smile jumped up and yells " Let's get your ass out of here. Unless you have changed your mind". Her laugh is booming. I try shooshing her and I grab my jacket. "Quiet! Someone will hear us!" I told her. She grabs my hand and leads me down a long hallway towards the servants' elevator. As we get in and the door closes, Jillian looks at me and says "K. I'm going to miss you little sis. Please be careful. Stay in the forest and travel to the Northwest. Nigel will meet you in the first town you come to with a car and a throwaway phone. You can trust him. He is a wolf just like us. He will make sure you get home to your pack. Please call me when you get there." Once she gets me out of Luca's castle to the edge of the forest, she pulls me in for a deep hug, pats my cheeks and turns to go back before she is missed. Hopefully, this isn't the last time I see her. Without hesitation, I started to run as fast as I could into the forest. Remembering to go northwest like Jillian said. I felt like I had run forever, so I decided to stop and catch my breath for a moment. All I can think about is if Luca knows I am missing and how long I have until he finds me. After drinking a little water and getting my bearings, I restarted my journey. Moving as fast as my legs could carry me, all I could think about was how I wished I had already had my shift into Snow. I could definitely get to my destination a lot quicker. As the sun started to rise, I could see a town in the distance. I was almost there. I didn't even stop to rest anymore. I ran full force to the edge of town. I got to the location I was given, and there sat Nigel. All 6'10" of pure muscle of him. "Kaia?" he asks. I nodded and slowly walked towards him. "I'm Nigel Stone. I'm here to help. Pretty sure Jilly already told you that though." he says as he shakes my hand. I looked at him and tried to find my voice. "Yes. Thank you for helping me. Can we get out of here? I fear that Luca isn't far behind," I said. He chuckles and leads me to the black SUV waiting for us. "Little Wolf, you're safe now girl. Let's get you home." We drove for hours, only stopping to get food and bathroom breaks. Nigel was definitely a good travel buddy. He made sure it was a good time. We went from playing dumb car games to singing at the top of our lungs to cheesy 80s pop songs. It kept my mind off of what dangers were still out there for me. As we approached the pack borders, the SUV was surrounded by Winter River's top warriors. They had been on high alert since I was taken. You see, my daddy is the Alpha. Alpha Hardin Larsen, the ruthless Alpha. "What business do you have here? Why are you so close to our borders? Where do you come from?" one of the warriors shouted out. "My name is Nigel Stone. I am a friend of the Alpha's daughter. I have a special package for him." Nigel tells them. The warriors all look at each other and suddenly one walks fully up to the SUV. I recognize him instantly, Bryce Grey. He is the head elite warrior of our pack, and my big brother Tomas's best friend. "BRYCE!! It's me Kaia. Nigel helped save me. Please let us through so we can go find daddy." I yelled. All I saw was utter shock in his face. "Let them through, make sure they make it to the pack house. It's Kaia." Bryce told them. Everyone moved and started running. I could see Bruce was mindlinking to someone. Probably my dad and brothers. As we approached the Pack House, there was a crowd waiting for us. I saw my momma and I jumped out of the car, running into her arms. I burst into tears as she held on to me. I couldn't believe I had made it. I was safe in my mother's arms. My daddy, brothers and sister rushed to us and we ended up in a big crying group hug. No one could believe this day had come. My father looks at me in disbelief, and says " Welcome home baby girl. Lets get you inside and get you fed and settled. There is a lot to talk about." I turned to see Nigel standing there being held back from getting to me. "Wait, daddy, this is Nigel. He is the one who helped save me. I owe him so much." My father walked up to Nigel, shook his hand and slapped him on the back and said, "Come my new friend, let's eat!" Nigel looks at me dumb founded and I giggle. I grabbed his arm, and led him into the house. "It's OK Nigel, you can breathe. He is only hateful to those who cross him." He gives me a small smirk and excuses himself to call Jillian to let her know we are safe.
