Chapter 19 being seen after years of running

1299 Words
Seven Years Later……   Hope’s P.O.V   It had been seven years since I had escaped from not only Alpha Cole and my old pack, but from the clutches of Alpha Roman Black and his pack. Seven years I had been on the run, keeping myself hidden and keeping an eye on the two packs from a distance to make sure they never found me. Seven years I had been alone, not talking and barely eating. I had dodged rogue after rogue, but now I was facing them again. Rogues had found me and were growling and snapping their jaws at me, ordering me to shift and I roared at them. They all stepped back, but they weren't scared of me, they were seeing my defiance as a challenge. One by one they charged at me, jumping on me and one rogue managed to sink his teeth into my leg, but I killed him quickly and kept attacking the others, never surrendering, never giving in. When the last one was dead I ran, I ran as fast as I could. It had been seven years by myself and I was free, free from the drama, free from Alpha’s and their cruel ways, I was free. I have lived on my own all this time and never mated, I didn't have time to, but I also never bothered to look either. It was hard at times and sometimes I didn't eat for weeks, but I always found water. I was so tired, so I climbed a tree and shifted into my human form. I had become a master at making a bed out of the branches and always made sure that no one could see me. I carefully laid down because even though I had become a master, it all depended on the tree I was in. Sometimes I can make a strong bed, but other times I almost fall right through them, so each time I make sure that I am careful when I lie down, just in case. I lay there for a short time and I was so tired that I fell right to sleep.   The next morning came and I jumped down from the tree and shifted back into my cat, but rogues caught the smell of my scent and I didn't have time to eat or drink anything, I had to run. Again. This is my life, I hide, fight, sleep, eat sometimes and drink water. That's it, that's all I do, day in and day out. Suddenly I heard a howl echoing through the forest and it was from another pack. Great, just great, I thought to myself. Another pack smelled my scent, but they must have also smelled the rogues too, so maybe they wouldn't be able to find me if I hid. I didn't have enough time to climb a tree because they were getting closer, so I found some huge thick bushes and hid inside them. I watched as a huge black wolf broke a rogue's neck, but I stayed hidden in my tiger form. I was scared when I saw him look my way and he started sniffing the air. He made his way through the bushes and spotted me immediately, which wasn't hard to do seeing as I’m a white tiger hidden in green bushes, I tend to stand out a bit or should I say a lot. As soon as he saw me I thought this was it I was going to have to fight again, but he looked like he was surprised to see and smell me. He turned his head to the side when another of his pack members howled for him and I took that as my chance to leave. I shifted into my human form and quickly climbed a tree, hoping he didn't see me and when he turned back around he looked stunned to see that I was gone.   Alpha Rick’s P.O.V   I was in my office when my Beta, Vince came running through the door, almost knocking it off its hinges.   “Alpha, there are rogues chasing a white tiger on our territory.” Beta Vince said and I jumped out of my seat. I can tolerate werecats on my territory because some still hide, but I will never tolerate rogues being on my land. I ran out of my office and out of the pack house, shifting into my wolf and ran into the woods. I could hear the werecat roaring and the rogues growling and howling.   “We gotta get there before they get the werecat.” I said, mind-linking Vince. There was no way I was going to let one of them die at the hands of rogues. We got there five minutes later and the fight was on with four of us against six of them. We snarled, snapped and kicked each other until four of them were dead and the other two had run off. I shifted back into my human form and started to relax when I smelled this scent of berries and roses, so I followed the scent and it led me straight to some huge thick bushes. I made my way through them and came face to face with the most beautiful white tiger with the most mesmerising green eyes. I couldn't take my eyes off her and I didn't want to, but then my Beta howled for me and I looked away just for a few seconds, but when I looked back she was gone. Damn she's fast, I thought to myself and started to look around for her, but I couldn't see her anywhere. I knew she was still here because I could smell her scent and it was still strong, but I didn't want to scare her away, so I left to go and see what my Beta needed.   “Two rogues got away, do you want us to track them down, Alpha?” Vince asked, but I was still focused on her green eyes.   “No, if they come back we'll kill them. No werecat will be harmed on my land.” I said and made sure that I said it loud enough for her to hear. Vince looked at me confused as to why I raised my voice slightly, but I just shook my head and gestured for him to follow me back to the pack house.   “Did you see the werecat?” Vince asked, just as we got back to the pack house and I nodded.   “Yes, I saw her and do not tell anyone until I know for sure, but I think she's my mate.” I replied and he looked at me shocked.   “Rick, are you sure? A wolf and a werecat as mates, has there ever been a recorded one?” Vince asked and I shrugged.   “I don't know, Vince, but we will do some research. If she's still here then I want her to feel safe, tell the guards that if they see her to let her roam freely and if she comes into the yard then let her through, do not harm her.” I said and he nodded.   “Yes Alpha, I will link them all now.” Vince replied and his eyes glazed over as he began to mind-link all of them.   “I have linked every guard, warrior and fighter, they have all replied the same and said yes sir.” Vince said and I felt relieved. How long had she been out there? Were there more werecats with her or was she alone? Did she recognise me as her mate? Was she really my mate or was I just thrown off because she is a white tiger?
