Chapter 20 scared

Hope’s P.O.V

  I don't know why but he seemed different, so I climbed up a tree near his pack house and watched closely to see which room was his. I saw him open the windows to his room, looking out into the woods and I could have sworn that he looked straight at me. He didn't make any sign that he saw me, but when he turned around he left his windows open and just walked away. I was scared because the only two men that I ever knew tried to use me, lied to me and chased after me to hurt me. I wasn't going to trust him, but I really needed to see him and thank him for saving my life. I observed as the guards walked from one end of the yard to the other and this was my chance. I shifted into my tiger and ran into the yard, found his window and jumped through it. I shifted back into my human form, but stayed hidden behind the curtains, one because I was scared and two because I was naked. I didn't see him at first, but then I heard a door open and close, then his footsteps.

  “I know you’re in here, I can smell your scent. I promise I won't hurt you, you are safe here.” He said and I rolled my eyes at the safe comment.

  “Yeah, that's what the last Alpha said and he lied. All he wanted was to use me for war, but I ran from him. The only reason I came here is to thank you for saving my life.” I replied and watched him go into a room and come out a few seconds later with a shirt in his hand.

  “Please wear this, you must be cold.” He said, holding out the shirt to me. I looked at him cautiously before he sighed.

  “Listen, you are more than welcome on this territory, no harm will come to you. If you want to sleep here at night then you can, I can sleep on that couch and in the morning if you want you can leave.” He said and I reached forward, taking the shirt and putting it on.

  “Thank you, I haven't slept in a real bed for seven years.” I replied and walked out from behind the curtains. I walked forward as he stepped back, giving me enough room to feel comfortable, but when I looked at the bed I was scared to sit down. I slowly sat on the bed, never taking my eyes off him and watching his every move. He backed away from me, keeping eye contact and sat down on the couch before turning away from me and lying down. I watched him for a few minutes before lying down myself, but I still didn't trust him. I had been burned too many times by my old pack and Roman, so how did I know that once I fell asleep he wasn't going to try and attack me or something? I waited until I heard his breathing even out and then he started snoring, so I took that as my chance and got up from the bed, jumping back out of the same window and running into the woods. I ran until I found another tree, climbed up it and slept there for the night. I wasn't used to people, especially ones that were being nice to me and I wasn't looking for a mate either. I had been running from people almost all my life and I wasn't about to be trapped again, but there was something about him that calmed me and that night I fell asleep in the tree comfortably and peacefully.

  Alpha Rick’s P.O.V

  I was so happy that she agreed to stay here the night and sleep in my bed, but I wasn't so happy with my decision to sleep on the couch, the floor might have been a more comfortable option. I woke up with a cramp in my neck because I wasn't used to sleeping on this couch, especially when I had a nice big bed in here, but I didn't mind as long as she was here, safe and sound. I really need to get a better couch, something more comfy. I got up from the couch and looked over to my bed, seeing that she was gone. The bed didn't even look like it had been slept in and I didnt even get her name.

  “Well damn, I was hoping to get a chance to see her sleeping. I wonder why she left and did not even give me a simple bye.” I said to myself and looked around the room. I didn't see my shirt laying around anywhere and it made me smile to think that she still had it. At least she will be warmer tonight and not freezing out there. I took a shower, dried off and got dressed, heading towards my office. There was no way I could go back to sleep on that couch and definitely not in the bed because it had her scent on it and that would drive me crazy.

  Alpha Roman Black’s P.O.V

  It has been years since I have seen or heard anything from or about Hope, but I haven't stopped looking for her. I want her back and I will get her back, it's just a matter of time. Shelly was still pissed off about all the time I spent looking for her, just for it to be a waste of time, but she would get over it once I had Hope back. I thought I had seen her a few years ago, it was a white tiger and rogues were after it, but she managed to get away and hid. I tried looking for her, but I couldn't find her, soon I will though. Soon I will find her and I will bring her back here where she belongs.

  Alpha Cole’s P.O.V

  It had been seven years since Nikki and I figured out we were actually mates and not a day goes by where the sparks between us don't erupt, even when we just walk by each other and we have to touch each other just to make them stop. My mate had a little boy, he’s seven now and he looks just like me, black hair, brown eyes and the little dimple on his right cheek. I’ve fallen in love with my mate and she has officially become my Luna and the Luna of this pack. I often think back over the years and about the people I have seen come and go throughout my life, but the one person I find myself thinking about every so often is Hope. I wonder how she is doing, if she is still alive, but most of all I think about how we all treated her. We did wrong by her and if I ever see her again I will apologise, but I still owe her a hard hit to the head. Thankfully when I met my mate she pulled me back on the right path and I have run my pack the right way ever since then and will continue to do so until my son comes of age and becomes Alpha, then I will step down.
