Chapter 4: Drinking In The Private Room

1180 Words
In the parking lot, Lugard parked his car before stepping out and heading into the bar. In the VIP room, Jonathan and others were sitting calmly, waiting for the iceman to arrive. Jonathan was talking with a smile, holding a wine glass in his beautiful slender hands. Lugard walked in calmly, stunningly with his tall figure. He was very calm and seemed to be the object of every girl's dreams. He walked in and sat down calmly, like a king on his throne, exuding a cold aura. "Hey man, what's up?" Charles asked, raising his wine glass to Lugard. The nearby waiter poured a drink for Lugard. He picked it up and raised his wine glass like a god. "I'm good," he replied. Jonathan looked at him suspiciously. "You said you're okay, but why do I get the feeling that you're not?" Lugard glared at him. Jonathan diverted his gaze to the drink in his hand as if he hadn't said anything just now. "You're right. I knew something was wrong when he entered earlier," James said calmly, sipping his wine. "Handsome Lu, what's up? I can tell that you're not happy and you're just pretending to be calm," James continued. "How are you sure I'm not happy?" Lugard asked, looking at them all. Jonathan dropped his wine glass on the table and opened his lips. "I can tell because you're too cold. There is not a single good mood written on your face. You keep a cold face like an emperor. You just came and started drinking immediately without even bothering to look at us or say a word. Even the way you glared at me made me know I guess it right," Jonathan said, smiling and playing with his fingers as he looked at Lugard. Lugard sat quietly listening to Jonathan's description and drinking his wine calmly. Jonathan looked at Zen sitting beside him. "Am I right, Zen?" Zen nodded in agreement, drinking his wine calmly. "Whatever," Lugard said, moving his gaze from the group sitting in front of him. Jonathan smiled and opened his mouth to gossip. "So I'm right. Tell us who made you angry this time. Is it Kelly, that annoying fly?" Jonathan asked, raising his eyebrows. "Tell us what she did today," Jonathan continued, relaxing in his chair. As Jonathan and the others grew bored, they thought that Lugard was not in the mood to say anything, so James tried to find another topic. "My mother came to my house this morning," Lugard replied. "Oh," Jonathan said, frowning. "I never guessed that it would be your mother," Jonathan added. "What did she say this time?" Zen asked, sipping his wine and looking at Lugard. Lugard took a swig of his wine and looked at his glass. Everyone opened their ears to know how serious it was, which annoyed Lugard. "She said that I should marry and give her grandchildren." "Hahaha, hahaha," they all burst into laughter. "Haha," Jonathan pointed at Lugard, "you said she asked you to give her grandchildren, hahaha." They continued laughing until their eyes turned red. Lugard frowned at his friends laughing at him. "What's so funny?" he asked with a frown. Jonathan waved his hands, "Nothing, nothing, it's just a little funny. We thought it was something serious, not knowing it was 'Give Me Grandchildren' and not 'Give Me Grandchildren.'" Lugard's face changed, "how is it not a serious matter?" Everyone became serious. None of them said a word again. "Your mother is something. Two years ago, she disapproved of Hazel marrying you and even managed to separate you both. Now she needs grandchildren. Hmmm," Zen chuckled, "I wondered why she hated Hazel so much back then." Lugard didn't say anything, but his face was not very good because anytime he remembered Hazel or someone talked about her, his heartfelt pain and he hated his mum even more for separating him from Hazel, his first love. His eyes turned red, but there were no tears in them. James looked at his reddened eyes, "You still love her. You haven't forgotten about her," James said, looking at Lugard. Lugard didn't say a word. "There is nothing to say about these matters. You will still get married and give her grandchildren," Jonathan said, sighing. "Who will get married? I'm not planning to get married," Lugard said. Jonathan's mouth twitched, "What do you mean?" "I'm not getting married, since she has already destroyed my relationship with the one I love. You know that girls don't catch my eye easily. She is the only woman who catches my eye and my heart. I can't fall in love with anyone else again." Everyone just kept quiet, looking at him. "Is it worth sacrificing your future family for someone who has already left and forgotten about you for 2 years?" Zen said to Lugard. "All your wealth and fortune – who will inherit it in the future if you don't have any child to take over?" James said, seriously looking at the richest man who wanted to stop his lineage because of love and a woman. Lugard relaxed on the seat he was sitting on and closed his eyes tightly, thinking. Zen and the others looked at him, wanting to say more but kept quiet. "Let's talk about something else," Jonathan said, thinking about something, and a smile appeared on his handsome face. "I met a beautiful woman this morning," he said. They all turned their gaze and looked at Jonathan with suspicion. "When did you start being interested in women?" Lugard asked, looking at Jonathan. Zen and James were also curious. "It's not that. I just saw her this morning and I liked and admired her appearance. She's pure beauty with no makeup. I never thought that love at first sight existed," Jonathan said dreamily. "Where did you meet this beautiful woman?" James asked. "I saw her when I came out of the BB group and went to the parking lot in the morning. She was sitting in front of my car, looking at the company," Jonathan said. "But I think there is something strange about her." Lugard frowned. "In my company?" "Yes," Jonathan nodded. "But I don't understand her. She came to your company, sat on my car using it as a seat, and stared at BB Group company before leaving directly." Lugard's brow furrowed deeper. "What's there to think about? How many girls are going to BB group company every day looking for you?" James said, picking up his wine and taking a sip. "What's her name?" Zen asked. Jonathan became embarrassed and scratched his head in shame. "I didn't remember to ask her name." It was their turn to laugh. "Haha," they laughed at Jonathan. "You didn't even ask your love at first sight what her name is. Ha ha ha. How can it be love at first sight if you don't even know her name?" James said, laughing. Jonathan became embarrassed, and they continued laughing and joking about what happened in the morning with the girl whose name he didn't know.
