"Good morning. Lugard", she purred her voice smooth and sultry, I've been calling you but you are not picking up my calls, and you have been ignoring me. Lugard glanced up from his paper his deep black eyes narrowing as he took in the woman standing before him. He appraised with a cold detachment unimpressed by her attempt at her seduction. What are you doing here, Miss Aderson? " he asked, his voice ice and detached. The girl smiled slightly, but she quickly composed herself, a flicker of annoyance crossing her features. I just came to see you it has been so long since we last met. She replied her tone still laced with a hint of seduction. Lugard gaze hardened as he looked at her, his expression unreadable. Without a word, he Rose from his chair and strode towards her. His cold commanding presence filled the room with an air of authority. "Get out", he commanded, his voice cutting through the hair like a knife, "I have no time for your games". Don't step foot into my office or anywhere you see me if you don't want me to strangle you. Kelly's face fell, her mask of confidence slipping away to review a flicker of hurt in her eyes. She opened her mouth With a red eye. But can't you Get out, Lugard caught off her word in a commanding tone. She turned her heel and swiftly made her way to the door, her shoulders slumped in defeat. As she disappeared from his office. Lugard settled back into his chair, the momentary interruption forgotten as he returned to work. When Kelly returned to the parking lot, she entered her car and slammed the door in frustration. "Lugard, you will only belong to me and nobody else. Whether you like it or not, I can't lose this opportunity of marrying you the richest man in the city," she muttered as she shook her head, driving out of the parking lot. After driving a little further, she stopped the car, picked up her bag, and opened it to get her phone. She dialed a number and the call connected immediately. "Hello, Madam Rachel," Kelly said. "What's up? How did it go?" the old lady's voice came from the phone. Kelly bit her lip, looking straight ahead. "It didn't work. He sent me out directly and even threatened to strangle me." The old lady's angry voice came through the phone. "He sent you out, and you just left like that? You didn't try harder? Or are you saying that he was not moved by you at all?" "I don't know. He was sitting indifferently, his expression unreadable," Kelly replied. Madam Rachel opened her mouth. "If you want to marry my son, you have to work hard and win his heart. You know he has loved someone before, but with his personality, it will be hard for him to fall in love with anyone else. Try your best. I want grandchildren soon, so try any means you can and win his heart." Kelly relaxed for a bit. "Yes, ma'am." After considering her options, Kelly started the car engine and drove away. Earlier that morning, Selene left the BB group company and went to her workplace at Skylight Hotel. Her schedule for the day was from 10 am to 6:00 pm. When she arrived at the hotel, she realized she was early. The time was 9:15 am, so she had about 45 minutes before her morning schedule began. She took a deep breath and sat down in front of the hotel. Suddenly, her phone started ringing, and she took it out to see who was calling. It was her best friend. She answered the call directly. "Hello, Mera, what's up?" Selene said. "Hey, what's up?" Mera replied. "I'm good," Selene responded. "Are you at the hospital?" Mera asked. Selene looked at the passing cars on the road and replied, "I'm at the hotel. I have work from morning till evening today, and I won't be able to come back early." "Oh," Mera said, pausing for a moment before speaking again. "Okay, how is little Didi? Is she getting better?" Selene looked down, smiled, and replied, "Yes, she's getting better." "Okay, thank God," Mera said. "Hey Meme," Selene called. "Yes?" Mera answered. "Are you busy today?" Selene asked. "No, I'm not busy. I don't have anything to do today," Mera replied. "Could you please go to the hospital and stay with my sister for a while? You can leave whenever you want," Selene requested. "No problem, I was planning to go and take care of her in the hospital since you're not there. It's dangerous for her to be alone," Mera replied. "Okay, thanks so much," Selene said happily with a smile. "Why are you saying thank you as if I'm a stranger you're asking something from? I don't like it. It makes me feel pitiful," Mera said. "Thanks so much. I'll go now before I'm late. Bye!" Selene said as she jumped up from the chair and headed towards the hotel. "Bye, I'm on my way to the hospital. Take care of yourself, okay?" Mera said. "Okay," Selene replied. The call ended. Selene entered the hotel and went to the changing room to put on her work uniform. Her colleagues Doris and her friends saw Selene and scoffed, "Poor thing, hmm," before bursting into laughter. Doris crossed her arms and walked over to Selene, circling her. "Hey, poor garbage, I told you to quit this job. You're bringing us all down, but you don't want to listen," Doris said mockingly. Doris continued, "Don't you know you are smelling poverty? You do not belong here. I don't want to see you in this hotel, but you do not want to listen." "I'm just warning you, Selene. Quit from this work, or I will help you quit from it myself," Doris said, pointing her finger at Selene with a serious face. After they finished talking nonsense that filled their mouths, Selene didn't say anything to any of them. She just passed them and left directly without even glancing at them. "Bunch of crazy fools," she murmured. Doris and her friends looked at Selene's departing figure with envy and jealousy, gritting their teeth. " I envy her. How could she be so beautiful when she doesn't have any parents or a boyfriend to take care of her and her sister? She's the one who's suffering and providing everything, but she is still more beautiful than us who have everything," Mica said. Doris glared at her. "Don't say that in front of me again. Let's plan on how to fire her from these jobs she's stealing my limelight," Doris said angrily before leaving.
