Chapter 2: Broke Life

"Be there at 6 or be fat!"
"HAH! Sure buddy,"
"Wait actually... where are you going?" Ask Ken
"I don't know, probably to sleep in my car,"
"YOU DON'T HAVE A HOME?"
"Nope, but I have an idea, come with me please,"
And so Ken and Inagaki leave the restaurant, stopping near a trade hall centre,
"So what's your idea?"
"Just wait for me here,"
After around 10 minutes of waiting, Inagaki finally leaves the building
"What took you so long? it's cold outside,"
"Stop crying, at least we don't need to stay here anymore,"
Saying this he throws Ken a house key
"Huh?"
"Remember when I said I have a car? That's the car! I traded it for a house,"
Ken looks confused and thinks
"What kind of floating car did he trade for a whole house?"
"You said it's cold, so let's hurry up to the house," Says Inagaki and starts running,
"Hey! Wait! I don't know where the house is," And Ken rushed to catch Inagaki,
When they arrive there,
"Holy saint pasta! It's HUGE" exclaims Ken
"5 Rooms and a training ground," says calmly Inagaki,
"You didn't ask me about how big the house should be, Are you insane? What's the point of 5 rooms, WHEN WE ARE ONLY TWO?"
"I didn't think it will come up to this so early, but..." and he approaches Ken looking right into his eyes,
Ken look confused and scared at the same time
"I... I always wanted to have a team!"
Ken breathed a sigh of relief,
"I thought it was going to get weird for a second, but what do you mean "have a team," Your passive it's called "Lone enjoyer" it's hard to believe, this"
"Everyone has an aspiration, I meant it when I said I want a team! What's your aspiration?"
"If I will tell you, eating spaghetti peacefully, will you believe me?"
"Of course not, it's okay if you don't want to tell me, it's normal,"
Ken looks at the ground with a rather disappointed face and thinks
"Ambitions? I don't have that, It's this why I can't make progress?"
Ken recovers from this state and starts smiling and say
"We should have got some food to celebrate our new home,"
"There's no need for that!" exclaims Inagaki
"You already have food? You thought all of it didn't you?"
But before he can finish his sentence, Inagaki exclaims very proudly
"WE DON'T HAVE ANY MORE MONEY"
"See, I knew I could count on y- ... What did you say?"
"We don't have any gold left, I give it all on the house!" He still says that very proudly
"So you mean we don't have money for tomorrow morning's food? says Ken looking with an expression of a serial killer,
"My dear Ken, Food is temporary! This house is eternal!"
Ken looked like he was going to cry,
Even if they knew they don't have anything to eat in the morning, they still slept very well in the new house,
Ken woke up
"Damn, after 4 years, I finally felt like I had a proper sleep"
"Glad you liked it," Says Inagaki, he just woke up too
They slept in the same room because they were way lazy to prepare the other rooms,
"Are you ready to leave for the quest?" Ask Inagaki
"Hmm... let me see" Ken opens his inventory screen
"Potions? - check, Combat pass? - check, Weapon? - check"
And he makes his sword appear
"Holy! That's a cool looking sword, I never saw something like this"
It was indeed a unique looking sword, even hard to describe, the hilt is positioned in the blade itself and the handguard way behind his intended place, not to speak about the fact that the sword was way bigger than a normal sword,
"How can you even carry that thing around? It looks super heavy,"
"I don't know with what it is infused or something, but it's as light as a feather," says Ken while holding the sword with one hand
"Can I see?"
"Sure" and he puts the sword on the ground
Inazuke tries to lift the sword from the ground but he just can't
"What the hell? quit joking with me" he says while trying to lift the sword with all his force
"I don't know what do you mean, I did nothing to the sword," says Ken
"Alright then, keep your secrets, we should be going by now,"
"Yes, you are right, but may I ask what weapon do you use?
"A STICK" And from his backpack, he starts dragging a combat staff, but the staff just didn't end until it reached the ceiling,
Ken is confused and surprised for what he was witnessing
"I will not even question this,"
"Good idea"
After they get past all the weird things they witnessed in the morning, they go to the quest location, it was near the city in a small forest,
"Can you break down the quest for me again?"
"We just need to kill 50 raptors in 2 minutes, pretty hard if we don't have any Area of effect abilities,"
"Speaking of that, can I see your skills?" Ask Inazuke
"Sure, but I only have one tho" And Ken brings up the skills menu and shows Inazuke his first ability
Ability name: Perfect stab
"The user rapidly stabs in front of him dealing "40" physical damage, additionally applies a stack of "calculated strikes" "
Cooldown: 5 seconds
"What is "calculated strikes"? is there an item?" ask Inazuke
"I don't know either, I don't have an item on me that reads like that, and it says nothing on the tooltip of the skill"
"What is a tooltip"
"Oh, I forgot to tell you yesterday, Tooltips can be found at the bottom of an ability text, and it provides you with additional information about some abilities and passives, like for my "perfect stab" ability:"
Tooltip: "Applies the bonus damage from "Blade of the unknown origin" and applies hit effects from items and other skills, The cast speed of the skill increases with the user attack speed,"
"That's a lot of information,"
"That's why it's a tooltip, do you expect people to read that?"
"Let me see what mine looks like"
"Ability name: "BONK"
"The user empowers his next basic attack with a powerful strike with the staff dealing "50 + 10% maximum enemy unit health damage" physical damage to the attacked unit,"
Cooldown: 8 seconds
Tooltip: While "BONK" is activated the user gains a bonus in the basic attack range, This ability deals 100 damage to structures
"And for my passive, it says that it has a 100 meters radius, and the bonus damage applies if there are invisible nearby allies,"
"100 meters? that means we need to farm in separate places, that's bad, neither of us has an area of effect ability" Says Ken
"Can't we just out damage them?"
"You might, but me..." and shows his passive skill to Inazuke
Inazuke can't stop laughing seeing his "1" true damage bonus
"HAHAHA, I am sorry, but this was way too funny, even a child can hit harder"
"It's not my fault it doesn't say with what the passive it's scaling," Says Ken pissed of
"What do you mean scaling?" Says Inazuke after he was done laughing
"Every ability has some sort of scale, it's not like the damage will stay constant all our lives, that's why you buy an item, not only to boost your basic stats but the skills stats as well, and also you can level up abilities to make them scale more and to increase their initial stats"
"My passive just doesn't say with what it is scaling, I tried every sort of items combination and it didn't work, and it looks like it's not scaling by level, I am already level 10 and it didn't change at all" Ads Ken
"Oh, I am curious whats my scaling then" And Inazuke looks at his passive, and after a short while he shouts
"WHY DO MY PASSIVE SCALES WITH ABILITY POWER WHILE MY OTHER ABILITY SCALE WITH ATTACK DAMAGE?"
Ken laughs a bit seeing Inazuke mad and then he looks at that himself
"130% scale with ability power? and it gets higher with the ability level? What is this?" Says Ken surprised
"It doesn't matter, we should try to complete this quest already"
"Yea, you are right, then, I am going further to let your passive work, Good luck"
"Same to you"
After some raptors killing the quest was done more quickly than expected, the quest was done in only 1 minute,
Ken and Inazuke meet at the starting point of the quest
"What did you do? I only killed 10 raptors and the quest was already done without me realizing" Says Ken surprised after seeing Inazuke,
"What do you mean? I Can one basic attack them, they only have 120 life, with my 70 attack damage and the passive, it was a walk in the park, don't tell me you deal 1 attack damage per basic attack to"
"It's not like that, I deal 75, I just can't fight more of them at once, I have a little amount of life, I prefer to fight them from afar,"
"The guy who deals bonus damage in close combat likes to fight from afar and doesn't have a large amount of life, how ironic, have you ever considered moving from the fighter role?"
"But what about my passive? I Can't just move to a range fighting style"
"Why not, if you ask me, the passive doesn't even matter in your situation, and also, a range dude with "deadly" melee potential seems good to me"
"You might be right," Says Ken and starts thinking
"And dude, you think too much"
"Someone needs to do that for both of us because you really can't do that for yourself it seems"
Inazuke looks at him and then starts laughing
"Nice comeback, you deserve meal" and he shows Ken his money bag 50 gold
In a party, the gold from the quest get evenly split among the party members so Ken had 50 gold too
"Finally I can buy more expensive spaghetti"
"Spaghetti? isn't that for poor people"
Ken looks with a killer expression at Inazuke
"Do you deny the food of god?"
"Um... no, spaghetti it is then," Says Inazuke after getting scared by Ken's expression
"Damn, He looks so innocent, but when it comes to being serious, he becomes scarier than a mountain troll," Thinks Inazuke and starts following Ken to the restaurant
When they get there, Ken slams the door open, and as usual, the first thing he hears:
"My dear Ken, as usu---" The owner doesn't get to finish his sentence because he gets interrupted by Ken
"Shut up, Give me the best bowl of spaghetti you have"
Inazuke gets near Ken and says
"Calm down little guy, I know you are excited but I don't know if we can afford "the best spaghetti" they have"
"I know this restaurant with every bone of my body, The best spaghetti only cost 50 gold, they are prepared for 5 minutes, and the owner usually use his passive on them"
"Everyone in the restaurant got confused for a little bit but then they starts laughing because they thought this is some sort of a show"
And from every table, they could hear
"A bowl of best spaghetti please"
"Same here"
"I want three"
The owner looks at Ken and starts laughing
"Good show kid, You deserve a free bottle of water, your spaghetti will be ready in 5 minutes, please take a seat while you wait
Inazuke looks even more confused than he looked before and thinks
"He fought harder for a bowl of spaghetti than fighting with those raptors... I like him"
