Jennie is busy working all week. Logan and Jen are trying to buy the house next door to Jennie, but two other people are also betting on the house, and the price is getting higher every day. Carl is getting frustrated as Jennie ignores him, and he can not keep up with the bets on the house next door to Jennie. But, on the other hand, Logan and Jen can keep up with the bet as it goes higher. But, they will not give in as they suspect Dante is also betting on the property. They can not have him too close to Jennie, and they wonder if he plans to stay in Houston or go back to LA eventually. Finally, they pay the owner a handsome amount to tell them who else is betting on the house. He tells them it is two gentlemen, Dante Hudson and Carl Conner. Jen looks at Logan. They can not have any one of the two buy the house.
"Maybe we are interfering again. We should let them fight it out between themselves," Jennifer says at last.
"You are right, angel. Let the best man wins," Logan says, knowing his son already knows who is betting on the place. So they withdraw their offer and let Dante and Carl fight it out. The children are coming to stay with them the weekend as Jennie is going on a date with Carl. Jennie knows she can not ignore him all the time, but she can not get herself to let him kiss her. Jennie knows it is because of Dante's kiss. She feels like kissing Carl is like kissing her brother. He does nothing for her, and Jennie feels guilty, so she says yes when he asks her on a date. Carl is relieved and can not wait for Saturday as he plans on making it very romantic and swooping Jennie off her feet. Carl wants her in his bed, and he has been waiting eight years. So he plans to rent them a hotel room. He will make her drunk to get her in his bed if that is what it takes. Carl is getting desperate. Saturday morning, Dante walks into the kitchen where his mother and father are talking.
"The twins will be staying with us tonight so that you can see them tonight," Jen says. She is looking innocent, but Logan knows what she is doing. He also does not trust Carl as Carl is a desperate man.
"Oh, why are they staying here? Where is Jennie going to be?" Dante asks while drinking coffee.
"She is going on a date with Carl at Harmonies," Jen says.
"I see," Dante says as he walks outside. However, he does not trust that Englishman and calls his friend at Harmonies to ask what Connor has planned for Jennie. Instead, he finds out that Connor booked a hotel room at the Johnson hotel where Harmonies is situated, and Dante is fuming.
"I already have plans for tonight, mom and dad. I will play with the twins tomorrow as they will be here tomorrow," Dante says as he walks out. Jen and Logan smile at each other.
"You are naughty, angel. So why tell Dante about the date?" Logan asks.
"I am only looking out for Jennie," Jen says.
"Hmm, you want Dante and Jennie together as I do, angel. So let's admit it," Logan says, smiling.
Dante calls a friend of his, she knows she stands no chance with Dante, but she can still hope. Amber Black is a famous model living in Houston. She is surprised when Dante asks her out. Being seen with Dante is like winning the lottery. You get a lot of new job offers. Amber is not a nice girl and will do anything to get to the top. He makes a reservation at Harmonies and makes sure it is next to Jennie and Carl's table.
Dante makes sure Carl and Jennie are already at the restaurant. Then, he and Amber walk in and take their seats, pretending not to see them. Jennie looks up and frowns as she sees Dante and Amber Black. What is he doing here? She is about to take a sip of the wine Carl ordered her, but Dante gets up and accidentally bumps against Jennie.
"I am so sorry," Dante says, and then he pretends to see them for the first time. Carl is frustrated. He paid the waiter to spike the wine, and now it is all over the place. Dante suspected it, and that is why he bumped it out of Jennie's hand. He knows Carl is desperate and will do anything to get Jennie in that hotel room tonight and in his bed.
"Excuse me a minute so I can go clean up my dress," Jennie says as she gets up and walks to the bathroom. Dante follows her without Carl noticing it because Amber is apologising to him. Instead, he is star-struck again and invites her to join him at the table while Jennie is gone. Carl thinks Dante also went to clean up the wine from his suit jacket and does not worry about Dante not being there. He enjoys Amber flirting with him and brags about all his money. He does not notice the waiter bringing Amber some of the spiked wine.
"Jennie, wait!" Dante calls Jennie. She is furious as she thinks he did it on purpose.
"What do you want?" Jennie asks furiously.
"Will you trust me for this one time? " Dante asks.
"Depends on what you are up to," Jennie says.
"Carl has paid the waiter to spike your wine. He has booked a room for you and him in the Johnson Hotel for tonight, and he was planning on taking advantage of you," Dante says.
"You want me to believe that? Carl was always a gentleman towards me and will never do something like that to me," Jennie says and wants to walk away. Dante grabs her hand and starts walking with her to a quiet corner.
"I will not lie to you. Carl is getting desperate, and he wants you to fall pregnant with his child. I think," Dante says.
"What utter nonsense!" Jennie says. As she says it, she sees the wine going to her table and sees the waiter bringing the wine back without serving it to Amber, sitting with a star-struck Carl. He turned around when she was not at the table.
"Carl is so naive and can not help falling for the stars," Jennie thinks to herself.
"Fine, want me to prove it to you?" Dante says. He walks to the waiter, who is supposed to give the wine to Jennie.
"Can I have that glass of wine, please?" Dante asks. The waiter looks at the woman and man standing in front of him, and he knows he is in trouble.
"He paid me to give you the wine, Miss. But, please, do not tell my boss. I need this job, and I do not know what he put in the wine," The waiter says.
"Who paid you?" Jennie asks, confused.
"The man you came in with, Mr Conner, " The waiter says. Jennie walks over to the hotel front desk and asks if Mr Conner booked a room for the night. The front desk confirms that Carl has booked a room and used his passport. She thanks them and walks back to the table. She and Dante go and sit at the other end of the table as Amber is sitting next to Carl talking. Carl shows the waiter to bring the wine, and the waiter brings Jennie a glass of spiked wine. When Carl is not looking, Jennie changes out her glass with his. Dante smiles as he sees how quickly she does it.
"I told you to trust me," He whispers to Jennie and Jennie smiles back at him.
"Thank you for saving me. I owe you one," Jennie whispers back at Dante. Carl thinks the wine is starting to work, and if he does not act quickly, Jennie will be all over Dante in a few minutes, but he can not shake Amber. She has heard the word money, and she knows she will never get Dante, so she plans to get herself a wealthy Englishman.
"Can you two tell us what you are whispering about?" Carl asks, irritated. He has not drank his wine yet, and Dante shakes his head.
"It is between Jennie and me. Some secret we share," Dante says. He loves pissing off Carl.
"Drink your wine, Carl and stop being so nosey," Jennie says with a smile. Carl downs his glass of wine. Nothing is going according to his plan, all because of this stupid American! He starts feeling drunk fast as the waiter serves him the spiked wine now. Carl starts flirting openly with Amber now, and Amber likes the attention. Finally, the waiter comes to ask if they want to order.
"No, sent us the seafood platter to room 219 in the Johnson Hotel and put it on my tap," Carl says.
"Oh, you are naughty, Mr Conner. You two enjoy the night. I will take care of Carl," Amber says as they get up to go to the hotel room. Carl is stumbling a bit, and Amber helps keep him up.
"Wow, that could have been me. Carl is going to get one hell of a surprise tomorrow when he wakes up," Jennie says, laughing.
"Yeah, so shall we eat something?" Dante asks Jennie. He loves hearing her laugh.
"Yes, I am hungry, and we had a few glasses of wine, so we better sober up," Jennie says as she looks at the third glass of wine in her hand.
"Yes, it is not spiked, though," Dante says, smiling.
"Are you sure? You have not booked a room as well, did you?" Jennie jokes.
"No, but I can always if you want me to," Dante laughs.
"Don't be silly," Jennie says, blushing. She knows she blushes every time Dante teases her, but she can not help it.
"You are beautiful, Jennie," Dante says out of the blue.
"The wine is too strong. You should not drink the rest," Jennie says. The waiter comes back to their table, and they order some pasta. After eating, Jennie gets ready to leave and wants to call an uber.
"I will take you home," Dante says, and Jennie can not say no as she feels she owes Dante for saving her tonight.
"Okay, but no funny stuff," Jennie says, and Dante smiles.
"What funny stuff?" Dante asks.
"Like trying to kiss me again," Jennie says.
"I will not kiss you. We are going to the farm. You owe me one, and all I ask is to spend tomorrow with you and the children on the farm," Dante says.
"Okay, but stop at my house so I can get some clothes and my toothbrush," Jennie says, glad she got off that easy. His parents and sisters are on the farm so that she will be safe from Dante and his advances.
"Great, I will wait in the car for you," Dante says. Jennie runs to her front door, unlocks it, and quickly throw some clothes, pyjamas, underwear and her toothbrush and brunch in a bag. It does not take her long. She locks the house again and walks to the SUV. Why is she feeling so excited?
"Get your head where it belongs, Jennie. Dante only wants the children and will do anything to get them," Jennie whispers to herself.
"That was fast," Dante says.
"Yeah, it is only one night, so I don't have to take a lot of stuff," Jennie says. She gets into the passenger side of the SUV, and Dante drives away to the farm. He looks at Jennie and wishes he could kiss those soft lips of her again, but he promised he would not. As they reach the farm, Jennie moves over and wants to kiss Dante on the cheek to thank him. At that moment, Dante turns his head towards her, and she kisses him on the lips. Dante's arms go around Jen as he deepens the kiss. Jen again can not resist him. At last, he let go of her reluctantly.
"Wow, what was that for?" Dante asks.
"It was meant to be a small kiss on your cheek to thank you. Dammit, Dante, do you always have to take it further than it should have gone," Jennie snarls.
"Hey, don't be mad at me. You are the one who kissed me," Dante says.
"Let's just forget about it!" Jennie says as she gets out of the SUV. The two of them are unaware of all the eyes looking at them throw the windows. Jayden, Jayda, Logan, Jen, Angelica and Mabel quickly move away from the windows and pretend to watch a movie as Jennie and Dante walks in.
