Lunch

The twins enjoy the day with their grandfather, grandmother and mother. They already forgot about the people that came to their house. They love all the beautiful buildings and sights their grandparents took them. Logan walks away for a bit and takes out his phone. He calls his secretary and tells her to buy the house next to Jennie's. Logan does not want Dante to buy it and make Jennie's life difficult. Carl joins them as he has already started working, and the twins are happy to see him. "So, how was work?" Jennie asks Carl. "We are still moving in the equipment and furniture, but it should be ready when you come back to work tomorrow. I miss you at work," Carl says as he kisses Jennie on the forehead. Jen smiles as she looks at the two of them. They are more like siblings than like lovers. Jen doesn't think Carl and Jennie are in love and will make a big mistake if they get married. However, she can not intervene, so she keeps her nose out of Jennie's business. "Good, I can not wait to start working," Jennie says. Logan is not a big fan of Carl as he feels Carl is too weak for a woman like Jennie. However, Logan has nothing against Carl as a person. He only thinks Dante is more of a man, and Jennie needs a man in her life. A man that can protect his grandchildren and that will love them with more passion than Carl does. Jennifer has warned Logan not to interfere in Jennie's life, and he agreed reluctantly. However, Logan knows that Jen also wants Jennie to marry Dante instead of Carl. "Let's go and see if we can get a table at Charlie's Place and get something to eat," Logan says. He knows it is Jennie and the twin's favourite place. It is almost lunchtime, so Logan hopes they can get a spot as he did not make reservations. However, as they get to Charlie's Place, the restaurant is busy and have no tables available. They are just about to turn around when Dante some downstairs to go to the bathroom. He sees his parents, Jennie and the twins. "Mom, dad, you can join us upstairs. We have a big private room. Besides, Angelica and Mabel are also upstairs and is dying to meet their niece and nephew," Dante says, making sure the tall blond man standing next to Jennie hears that. Of course, Logan wants to refuse, but he thinks of something. Maybe if Jennie sees Dante and Carl next to each other, she will realise that Carl is not half the man Dante is. But, of course, Jen was thinking the same thing. Jennie looks a bit pissed off as Jen and Logan accept the invitation. "Our daughters are there, and we want the twins to meet their aunts," Jen whispers to Jennie. Jennie smiles as she always liked Angelica and Mabel. She missed them over the years. The three of them were always close growing up. Dante looks at his mother and father and wonders why they agreed. What do they have up their sleeves? Then he looks at the tall blond man holding Jennie's hand. It must be Carl! Carl feels a bit uncomfortable as he can see the resemblance between Jayden and Dante. So this must be the father of the twins. They follow Dante upstairs. As they get upstairs, Dante introduces his sisters to the twins. They sound so cute with their English accents, and Mabel and Angelica fall in love with them immediately. Logan introduces Carl to everyone, and as he greets them, Mabel walks over to him. "You sounds just like James Bond. Come sit here with me and tell me more about England I will be touring England soon, and I know nothing of your country," Carl is star-struck, and he is over the moon to talk to Mabel Hudson, the rockstar. Mabel winks at Dante without anyone else seeing it. Dante smiles as he knows his sister did it for him. He pulls out a chair for Jennie, and she sits down. Dante goes and sits next to her. Carl is sitting on the other side of Jennie, but Jayda wants her mommy and daddy together and asks Carl if she can sit next to her mother. He moves up without thinking as he is impressed with Mabel. Jennie sees it, and she thinks to herself, what a wimp Carl is. He is supposed to think of her and the twins. Instead, he is all over a rockstar like a teenage boy. Dante looks at Jennie, that looks unhappy. Jayden is sitting next to him. He is also not happy with Carl. He thought uncle Carl loved only his mommy. He can see his daddy looking at his mommy, and he can see something in his dad's eyes that makes him wonder if his dad will not be better for his mommy. "Are you hungry?" Dante asks Jayden and Jayda. The waiter is waiting for them to order. Dante and his guests have not ordered their food yet as they were drinking a few beers before ordering. Dante only had one beer as he would be driving home. The others are a bit tipsy, and they are giving Carl wine and other alcohol, keeping him busy to provide Dante with some time with his children. "Yes, I want steak and fries," Jayden says. "I want chicken and fries," Jayda says. "What about mommy?" Jayden asks. He knows his mommy will not eat if she is upset. "I am not hungry. I will have a glass of water, please," Jennie says. "She like seafood," Jayden whispers to Dante. "A plate of seafood it will be for the young lady, two steaks with fries and chicken with fries," Dante place their order with the waiter. The waiter move on to the other guests, and everyone orders. Jennie is a bit pissed off at Carl for not ordering for her and the kids. She glares at Dante. "I said I am not hungry," She whispers to him as she does not want to fight with him in front of her children again. "Jayden asked me to order for you as he is worried about you not eating. So I did it for our son," Dante whispers back. They pretend to have a civil conversation, so they do not upset the kids and the other people in the room. So they smile while whispering to each other. "Fine, but don't ever try a stunt like this again. You made us sit with you on purpose," Jennie says. "Come on, Jennie. We can be friends for the sake of our children," Dante says. "My children, you only donated the seed that made them," Jennie says. Dante is starting to lose his temper. "So the white English mouse can be a father figure to them, but I can not? I am their father whether you like it or not, and I will not walk away from my children," Dante says. "You have no choice in this matter, Casella. If you dare to do anything to us, I will reveal your true identity to the world," Jennie says. Dante laughs softly. "No, you won't, because then you reveal my mother and father, and you love them too much to do that to them. So please stop calling me Casella and call me Dante. Remember whispering my name that night you became mine," Dante says with a smile. "I was never yours. So stop being an asshole. I remember nothing of that night. All I remember is your cruel words, which says a lot about your lovemaking," Jennie bites back. "Well, then maybe I must refresh your memory. If you can sleep with the Englishman, you can surely sleep with a warm-blooded Italian American," Dante says. "No, thank you, Carl is a gentleman in real life and the bedroom," Jennie says. She is blushing as she thinks of what Dante suggested. She lied. Jennie still remembers that night like yesterday, but Dante does not have to know that. Besides, Jennie and Carl never spelt together as she did not want her children to think it was okay to sleep with someone they are not married to, especially Jayda. Jennie does not want her daughter to be a single mom like her. Dante smiles, but he is brooding inside, so she is sleeping with that English bastard. His hands are making fists under the table. Dante turns to Jayden. "How is your food?" He asks Jayden. He is jealous and angry at the same time. He can not look in Carl's direction now, or Carl might be swimming with sharks tonight. "I love it! You ordered the same as me! Do you like it, dad?" Jayden asks. "I love it!" Dante says and smiles at the little boy that calls him dad. Jennie hears Jayden calling Dante dad, and she knows she can not keep him out of her children's lives. Now that they know he exists, it should be their choice whether they want to see him or not. Jennie sighs. She does not like to share her children with this creep, but they already look up to him. "Who wants ice cream?" Dante asks Jayden and Jayda. They look at their mommy as she does not like them to eat too many sweets. "We don't allow them too many sweets," Carl says, out of the blue. Jennie can feel the tension building around the table, and she quickly answers. "They can have ice cream today," Jennie says. Carl looks at Jennie with a frown. She is supposed to stand with him. He is her man, not this Dante guy. "Not too much, though. We do not want their, little tummies hurting," Carl says. Dante glares at him. Carl is on thin ice, and Jennie, Jennifer, and Logan know how dangerous Dante can be. Carl does not know Dante and who he is as the waiter comes to take their orders for dessert. Dante orders the most enormous two ice creams on the menu for the twins, to the delight of Jayda. She jumps up and runs to Dante. "Daddy is the best! But, Uncle Carl, you do not stay with us, so let me tell you something, ice cream never make our tummies hurt. You never even sleep at our house, so how would you know?" Jayda asks. Dante relaxes and hugs Jayda to his heart. She just saved Carl from a swim with the sharks. So he never sleeps over, and he does not live with them. Dante looks at Jennie, who is blushing. He knows she never slept with Carl and that she lied to him. Carl is furious. If this Dante guy thinks he will come between him and Jennie, he makes a mistake. "Well, I will be living with you soon, as soon as your mommy says yes to become my wife," Carl says. Everyone in the private room can feel the tension between Carl and Dante. "Will that mean we will have to dads?" Jayden asks. "No, you will always only have one dad, and that is me," Dante says. "We will see about that," Carl challenged Dante. "Okay, that is enough, you two. Let's enjoy our lunch in peace. Please," Jennifer says. She knows her son, and she does not want him to kill Carl the first day he meets him. Carl is drunk and brave. He pulls Jennie up from her chair. "Come, Jayden and Jayda, we are leaving," Carl says. "You are not driving in your condition with my children or Jennie in a car," Dante says, also getting up and talking Jennie firmly away from Carl's grip. "I will drive. We will be fine," Jennie says, afraid of what might happen next. "We will drive them home, Dante," Jennifer also tries to save the situation. Jennie doesn't know why Carl had to interfere now. He was all over Mabel all day, and now he wants to claim Jennie and the children again after ignoring them the whole lunch. She is so pissed off with him she does not want to see him again. He is drunk and looking for trouble. "It is fine. Let the children finish their ice cream first. I will order an uber for Carl. He had too much to drink, obviously," Jennie says, looking coldly at Carl. Carl looks at Jennie and storms out of the private room. He calls his firm to send him a driver. How could Jennie humiliate him like that in front of everyone? Carl stumbles a bit as he gets into his car's passenger seat, waiting for the driver to take him home. He is disappointed in Jennie, and he will tell her tomorrow. She humiliated him in front of Mabel Hudson! Oh, Mabel is beautiful, but he knows she is not for him. But, on the other hand, he loves Jennie and will fight for her to the end.
