"I found her!" Dante says to Andrei over the phone.
"Where is she? Is she okay?" Andrei asks Dante.
"Yes, she is healthy and looking good," Dante says. However, he does not know how to tell his friend she has children.
"I can not thank you enough for finding her. It has been hard on my parents. Where is she?" Andrei asks again.
"Jennie is in Houston, but there is something I need to tell you," Dante says.
"What?" Andrei asks.
"Jennie has twins, and I am their father," Dante says. It is better to be straightforward than to beat around the bush.
"I am going to kill you, Casella! She ran away because you made her pregnant?" Andrei says. He does not know how the hell that happened, and he waits for Dante to explain. Dante explains to Andrei what happened all those years ago and Andrei listen. Andrei does not say a word until Dante finishes, and Dante tells him what Jennie said about her family and him when he found her. He tells Andrei everything, and Andrei feels guilty for treating Jennie the way he did before she ran away.
"Listen, Jennie is about to make the biggest mistake of her life and marry a guy called Carl. She believes he is suitable for her and the children, and I will fight for her heart. I will not give up, and I will not let her marry this Carl guy. I know you are not mad at me as you always was like a brother to me, and soon we can be family. All I need to do is try and win Jennie's heart," Dante finish his stories.
"It is not all your fault we all played a part. Jennie would have told us she was pregnant if we were closer to her. I know my mother and father will be delighted to know she is okay. Still, I do not know how my father and mother will react to Jennie having illegitimate children, but maybe they will understand as I was also unlawful. My father only found out about me when he found my mother accidentally when Melody was pregnant with Jennie. Let me go and tell them. I think they will want to fly to Houston and come and see her," Andrei says. He is happy Jennie is okay, and he wants to see her. There is so much he wants to tell her and beg her for forgiveness. Andrei walks to the sitting room where his mother and father are sitting. They look old and tired. The last few years have been hard on them, and they blamed themselves so much for Jennie running away.
"Dante found Jennie. She is healthy and alive and living in Houston," Andrei says. Loraine and Boris jump up, and Boris hugs Loraine.
"We found her! We found our baby girl!" Loraine cries. Boris also has some tears in his eyes.
"Get the jet ready we are flying to Houston in half an hour," Boris tells Andrei. Andrei smiles as he tells them the whole story on the way to the plane. Boris looks a bit upset when he hears about the children, and Loraine seems excited.
"I can not believe Jennifer and Logan hit the fact that they found our daughter from us," Loraine says. She always thought Jen was her best friend.
"It was not their choice. It was Jennie's choice," Andrei says.
"I know, but still they could have told us," Boris says.
"And risk her going away again and not having someone to protect her and the twins all these years?" Andrei stands up for his best friends parents again.
"Yeah, I think it was the right thing to do. What if Jennie ran off again, and they could not find her again?" Loraine says. No wonder Jen and Logan hardly visit the last eight years and always tried to ignore them and Melody. They have drifted apart, and Jen and Logan went their own way.
It is a long flight, and when they get to Houston, Dante comes to pick them up at the airport. They decide to rest before going to see Jennie. Dante did not tell his parents that he told Loraine, Boris and Andrei about Jennie's whereabouts. Logan looks unhappy when Dante walks into the farmhouse with the three people. Jen is happy to see Loraine, but Loraine is cold towards her, and Jen understands. She would be pissed off, too, if one of her daughters was missing for eight years and Loraine knew where she was but did not tell her. Angelica and Mabel are both home for a few days. Dante told Melody and she and Tristan, Chase and Melody also came to Houston as soon as they heard. Melody feels guilty as Mel did not spend more time with Jennie. Jennie is her daughter, and she messed up by not seeing Jennie more often. Like Loraine, Chase and Tristan feel guilty about Jen disappearing. If they spend more time with her, she might have come to them in her moment of need.
After everyone rested, they decided to go to Jennie the following day. Jennie is unaware that she will be facing her past soon. She and the children have a big breakfast she cooked for them as tomorrow the twins will go to their new school for the first time. Jennie and the twins dress nicely as they plan to explore their new city today. The doorbell rings, and Jayden jumps up to answer the door. As he opens the door, he stares at all the people in front of him. He knows only three of these people—his grandmother and grandfather and the man that is their father.
"Hi, big man, let us in," Logan says, and Jayden opens the door and stands aside to let the people in. These people better not try and hurt his mommy. He can hear her crying at night since his father visited that day. So when Dante wants to walk in last, Jayden closes the door in his face.
"You are not welcome. You can wait outside," Jayden says as he closes the door. Dante is furious, and Andrei wants to laugh.
"That is not nice," A lady he does not know says.
"That happens if you hurt my mommy, so you all been warned," Jayden says as he goes to the kitchen to call his mother.
They all look up as Jennie enters the sitting room. Jen walks to her and holds her hand. She knows how difficult it is for Jennie to face all these people of her past. Jennie looks nervous as she looks at everyone. Dante must have told them where she is, but the sooner she gets this over with, the better. Loraine gets up to hug her daughter, but Jennie takes a step back and looks at Loraine like a stranger.
"I do not know why all of you came here, but I want you all to leave as you will upset my children," Jennie says. Logan also gets up and stands next to Jennie.
"Listen, here, young lady, it is no way to talk to us after you left without saying a word," Boris says.
"I have nothing to say to any of you," Jennie says. Boris is getting angry, and Loraine touches his arm to calm him. This is a delicate situation, and she wants to make up for what they did.
"Jennie, please, we are here to apologise. We should not have pushed you to do what we wanted you to do, and we should have supported you," Loraine says.
"You did not even show up at my graduation. All the other student's parents were there to celebrate with them, but you, aunt Loraine, were the only family I had and the only mother I knew, and you did not even bother to show up," Jennie says.
"Don't call your mother aunt Loraine! She brought you up!" Boris shouts at Jennie, and Logan steps forward to stop Boris.
"Yeah, you brought me up, but then you left me on my own, Uncle Boris! So do not tell me what to do anymore. You have no legal right over me anymore. I am old enough to make my decisions. I do not want any of you back in my life. None of you was there for me when I needed you the most," Jennie says.
"I think you all should leave," Logan says.
"Uncle Logan and Aunt Jennifer are the only ones welcome in my house. Now, please leave," Jennie says. Boris wants to say something, but Andrei stops him. He knows Jennie is hurting, and she is upset. They should not have come here in so many numbers and overwhelmed her.
"Let's go, father, mother. Jennie, if you ever get it in your heart, forgive us. Here is my number. Call us. Sorry for what we did to you in the past. We want to be part of you and your little family. Sorry, we did not call first and came to your house uninvited," Andrei says. Melody is quiet and says nothing. Jennie nods, and Andrei leaves his number on the table. Boris and Loraine look at Jennie and the two children peeking from behind her.
"I am sorry for yelling at you," Boris says as he sees the little scared faces of the twins.
"It is okay, leave, please. The children and I have a busy day ahead of us. Aunt Jen, Uncle Logan, you still coming with us?" Jennie asks Jen and Logan.
"Yes, since these people are all Dante's guests, he can take care of them," Jennifer says. She is mad. They should have never come here in the first place, and they should have asked Jennie first if Jennie wanted to see them. Jennie looks at the people leaving her house, and she feels relieved when they are gone.
"Well, I am glad that is over. Now, we can go and explore Houston," Jennie says, sounding happy for the sake of her children.
"Mommy, can we have ice cream today?" Jayda asks. She loves ice cream, and Jayden smiles as he knows his little sister will get them anything she asks for. Jayden frowns. Who were all those people? Why was the rude older man telling his mother to call the aunt her mother? Dante sits in his car with Andrei. Dante was waiting outside in his car and Andrei walks to his car to drive with him. The other people are all going back to the farm first. They will go to the hotel where Dante booked them all rooms.
"It was horrible. Jennie will never allow us near her or her children again. I should not have let my father in there. You know how he can get. He shouted at Jennie, and the twins were with her. He apologised, but I don't know if she will even want to see us again. She has changed. Jennie is beautiful and sophisticated. She is not like she used to be. She made a success out of her career without the help of any of us," Andrei says.
"Yeah, I knew she was beautiful for a long time. I fell in love with her a long time ago on a stormy night," Dante says.
"You did? Why didn't you tell me?" Andrei asks.
"Why did you think I searched for her for eight years?" Dante says.
"I always thought it was because you felt guilty," Andrei says.
"Nope, I loved Jennie, and I still do," Dante says as he drives off to a restaurant where he and Andrei can have a cold beer and relax. Dante's phone rings, and he picks it up when he sees it is his sister Mabel.
"Hi bro, where are you?" She asks.
"On our way to Charlie's place for a cold beer and something to eat," Dante says.
"Can Angelica, Tristan and I join you?" Mabel asks. She is a rock star like their mother, and Dante wanted a quiet lunch with his friend.
"Sure, see you there," Dante asks.
"Who was that, and who is joining us?" Andrei asks.
"My sisters and Tristan," Dante says. Dante sees Andrei's face lit up, and he smiles. He knows how Andrei feels about Mabel.
"Yeah, yeah, smile all you want. One day, I will get her to go on a date with me," Andrei says.
They drive to Charlie's Place and gets a private room upstairs. Soon the rest joins them, and Dante thinks it is like the old times. They never invited Jennie. Today, she is not here again, but he misses her and his two children this time.
