Chapter 7: Meeting With An Angel (2)

1012 Words
(Logan POV) I know it was not right to hide there but I couldn't help it as I was feeling a strange connection with that girl. Although I had never seen her before today, there was an unseen connection between us and I can clearly feel it. I heard faint footsteps behind that girl. I looked at the person over her shoulder and a boy was present. I felt a surge of jealousy in my body. She was present with a boy at this coven. I turned and went towards the tree. I looked around and climbed the tree. I could clearly see them coming out of the Coven from there, so I sat on the nearest branch and started munching on my apple, which I had in my pocket. They came out of that abandoned coven and started talking about something. I was present at a clear distance, so I couldn’t hear what they were talking about but they were looking toward our border. Did they want to go to the vampire kingdom? I asked myself but I needed a hint to confirm my suspicions. I looked at the nearest tree and a grin appeared on my face. I thought about it for a second and jumped on the next tree. My foot slipped but I quickly balanced myself by grabbing a big branch. I have no idea why I was doing that for a mere stranger, but by looking at her face, I know everything is worth the risk. “Please! We won’t get another chance like that in the future, Brother.” The girl said, and I looked at the boy in disbelief. Indeed, there was a clear similarity between both of them but I failed to notice it before listening to their conversation. I mentally facepalmed myself but a happy smile plastered on my face. They were elves and were beautiful. Elves were famous for two things: for their beauty and their magic. God gifted them with strong magic as they were all fragile physically. I heard that they are also very smart and cunning. They made up for their physical weakness with their sharp mind skills. My parents always taught us to never cross paths with elves, but what if they crossed our paths? They didn’t answer this question. The girl has long almost brown hair and glassy brown eyes. They were shining with their intelligence. I knew that they have beauty as their power but this girl’s beauty was enthralling. I can look at her face for my whole life. I was engrossed in my thoughts when I noticed a big black snake on the tree. I didn’t want to create a mess, so I jumped back from the previous tree and the girl noticed me. They both ran in my direction and I jumped off the tree and hid in the bushes. I don't want to get caught or I will be in trouble. I tried to hide but when the bottle collided with my head out of nowhere, A scream escaped my lips. I tried to quickly close my mouth but, of course, they already heard it. I told them that I am a vampire because they can easily judge me through my fangs and my pale complexion. I thought they would become scared after knowing about me, but they were not a bit scared. I can sense the anger and fright of anyone. It was one of my abilities. Our meeting was short and they quickly left the place. I was standing there like a statue because I didn’t get the meaning of those sparks which erupted whenever our skin brushed. I know that the female elf also felt those sparks but she didn’t ask about it, so I also pretended like I didn’t know about it. I had never heard of it but It was making me feel something strange. A feeling that I can’t put my finger on it. I already spent so much more time than I estimated, so it will not be good for me to stay here any longer. I quickly came back to my training ground and Leona was already standing there with a big scowl on her face. I know, I am in a big mess. I headed straight toward her. “What are you doing here?” I asked and her scowl deepened. “Exactly, I want to ask the same question. Where were you?” She asked and I smiled sheepishly before telling her that I was at my usual place. Her expressions softened a bit. “I have been waiting for you for one and a half hours. You owe me a big favor now,” she said while handing me the plate of food. “Why? I didn’t ask for it,” I said while grabbing the plate from her hands. “Yes! Look how generous I am. You didn’t ask for it and I still give you a favor and here are you! Who doesn’t want to give me a favor when I am asking you,” She started her emotional blackmail and I shook my head because she clearly knew I couldn’t refuse her for anything. I nodded and she started her plan of shopping with her friends. I have to provide a cover for her when she will absent. I know, I could be in trouble with providing her a favor but who cares? Dad really loved to torture and punish me in the name of discipline and that thing created a big wall of ice between us. I don’t think that I will ever be able to create a good Dad-son relationship with him, even if he wants to. I got far from that point. The deed is done and none of us can remove it. I shook my head and snapped out of my thoughts. Leona’s eyes were still looking at me with hope. I nodded and she yipped in happiness. At least, I can make them happy and make their life a little better than mine.
