Chapter 6: Meeting With An Angel

543 Words
(Logan POV) I was in the training ground and my whole body was covered in sweat. I really love to spend time on the training ground and learning new tactics. I think my father didn’t like me at all and always found a way to punish me, so the training grounds provide me with the best shelter. “Logan! You missed your breakfast and now, you are not at the lunch table as well. What's what matters?” My mother's mind link me and asked me. I stopped my punches on the sandbag and looked towards the sun. It was still noon and I didn't want to go back until night. “Umm…Actually! I…” I was about to make a convincing excuse but my mother's voice interrupted my thoughts. “Logan! No need to make any lame excuse because you don't know how to make one, so tell me the real reason behind your absence,” She asked and I let out a frustrated sigh. I should learn this art because Leona can make many convincing excuses at the spot and I failed to make even one. “Mom! I think Dad hasn’t liked me a lot and he is being extra strict with me for the last few days. I don’t want to face him. Otherwise, he will again get angry,” I told her the real reason and there was silence for a moment on the other end. I thought Mom dropped the mind linked but she again continued her talk. “It is not the truth, Logan. You are just being extra sensitive and just overthinking all the things. He loves you a lot but he just doesn’t know how to express it in words. I will try to talk to him,” She said to me, but I could feel the weakness of her accent. I just said ‘Yes’ in response before dropping the mind link. I looked towards the sandbag but I was in no mood to continue my practice. I wiped my sweat with my towel and threw a tee to cover my body before I started running towards my favorite escape spot. I know I will be able to clear my mind after spending some time there. It was not any particular spot but a big oak tree near our border. Father would not allow me to come here if he ever came to know about this, but I always covered my tracks, So he didn’t know that I spent a few hours of the week here. I was sitting there when I heard loud screams near the tree. I looked around and the voices were coming from an old abandoned coven that was not in our territory. It was present on the territory of the elf’s kingdom but nobody was present there to witness that I crossed the border. I looked around to check if anyone was there or not. After confirming it, I stepped onto their territory and started looking in the house through the window. A small beautiful girl was present there. I was busy looking at her face when she turned towards the window and I quickly hid, but my heart was beating fast with the idea of being caught.
