Another letter

Eloise POV

I was done with my dinner, I carried my plate and moved towards the kitchen, my father followed me behind. He took the plate from my hand and began to wash it. I was confused, why this sudden change of behavior?What is he trying to do?.

“Dad, is everything okay??,” I asked him in a soft voice.

He looked at me with a smile and continued washing the utensils.

I sat on the coach in the living area and waited for my father. Soon my father got out of the kitchen while wiping his hand with a hand towel.

“Dad, can we talk?,” I said with a soft voice and a concerned look on his face.

“Wait for me, I want to give you something,” he said with an excitement in his voice.

What is he trying to do next, i couldn't understand what my father was trying to do. He has always been a mystery to me.

Soon my father got out of his room with a huge orange teddy bear and placed it in front of me, “This is for you Eloise, i know how much you life teddy bears, we couldn't get your bear’s here from our previous place as you wanted to start fresh, this a present from your father as you have decided to start fresh.” He said with a smile.

I didn't know how to react, my father was never like this to me before, he was never close to me, it was always my mother who was close to me. My father was distant but today he seemed different.

“Did you like it?,” he asked me.

“Liked it?, I loved it dad!, thank you so much!,” I said I walked towards the teddy and gave it a tight hug.

“I will keeps this in my room, i have something that I can hug wherever I feel low or lonely,” I said while hugging the teddy bear.

“Whenever you feel lonely you can talk to me, but when I am not present this bear will be your comfort,” my father said with a smile.

I walked towards my father and hugged him, he hugged me back and creased my hair. I used to never hug my father, I don't remember the last time I ever hugged him.

“You should go to bed now, you have school tomorrow and I don't want you to be late,” he said with a smile.

I nodded, I carried my bear and walked towards my room, the bear was the same height as me. I placed the teddy on my bed and walked towards my washroom, I took a warm bath. I wrapped my towel around my body and walked towards my wardrobe. I took my night suit, wore it and laid on my bed. I hugged my teddy bear tight and drifted off to sleep. I was so happy today, I completely forgot about the letters which I received from an unknown person.

The next morning I woke up with my alarm rigging, I switched if my alarm rubbed my crusty eyes. I checked my phone, and I had received a few messages. One was from my friend who said that she will be waiting near the gate and the other from my father. Which said that he had to leave early for some important work and he would be late. I placed my phone on the table and walked towards my bathroom while yawning, I brushed my teeth, had a warm bath, wrapped a towel around my body and rushed towards my wardrobe. I took out a red dress and styled my hair with a red ribbon. I carried my bag and rushed towards my bicycle, my friend was waiting for me at my gate, she looked at her watch and then at me.

I sat on my bicycle and drove towards me, “I know we are late, I am sorry,” I said with a small smile.

“It's okay Eloise, we need to leave now or else we will be late,” she said.

We soon drove towards our school, I hope today will be a good day without any unnecessary drama. When we reached the school, one of our professors walked towards us.

“Anna, can you accompany me towards my office, I need your help,” she said.

“Yes Miss Riley,” she said.

Miss Riley walked towards her office. “I will meet you in the class Eloise.” Saying that she followed our professor.

I parked my bicycle near the bicycle side and walked towards my locker. I noticed the popular guy standing next to the locker, his locker was just beside mine.

I slowly walked towards my locker and pretended to ignore him, i began to put my password when I noticed that he was staring at me. His brown eyes were fixed on me, I looked at him.

“You need to be careful,” he said with a concerned look on his face.

What did he mean?, is he aware of the letters that I am receiving from an unknown person.

“What do you mean i need to be careful?,” I asked him with a worried look on my face.

I was confused why he was telling me that, a person who doesn't know me and I don't know him either.

“I meant that don't trust anyone here, even your closest friend,” he said in a soft voice.

Before asking him any questions further he began to leave, i stopped him by holding his wrist.

He stared at my hand, he didn't have any expression on his face

I soon left his hand and took a few steps behind, “I am sorry, but I had to stop you because I have so many questions, why are you telling me to be aware of my own friend? She can never hurt me,” I said in a soft voice and a confused look on my face.

He didn't answer my question and just walked away with one of his hands in his pocket.

All the girls around began to stare at me, they began to whisper. I didn't bother and began to get my books out of my locker. That's when I found another note in it but this time it was not in an envelope. I opened the note and found a letter in it. This time they letter didn't have a smile but it had something written on it. I began to read the letter which said, “You look like lavender when you wear blue and like a rose when you wear red. You look so beautiful that I cannot stop staring at you, I cannot stop keeping an eye on you. By the way, blue is my favorite color,” the letter ended. Lavenders were scattered in my locker.

This letter clearly means that I am being stalked by a creep who is keeping an eye on me but why is he following me and what he wants from me. I crushed the paper and threw it in the bin along with the Lavenders. I took out my books and headed towards my class. My heart was beating faster and I couldn't understand why this person was troubling me. I walked towards my bench and took a seat. I placed my bag beside me and began to take out my books. When I began to place my books inside my desk I noticed another envelope. My eyes widened as I saw the envelope “Not again!!!,” i said to myself.

I opened the envelope and found the letters along with the Lavenders. I began to read the letter. It said, “I will keep sending you letters and you can continue to crush them like the previous one which I placed in your locker,” the letter ended with a smiley drawn on it.

“How does this person know that I have crushed his previous letter? Is that person present here??, is he one of the students?,” I asked myself while I looked around.

I cannot trust any one here, anyone can be my stalker and I need to be very careful. I hugged my bag while I placed my head on the desk. I was so scared right now and I didn't know whom to trust. Why is this happening to me, I never had any enemies, and I cannot understand who this person is. I need to find out who my stalker is.

Suddenly I felt someone place their hand on my shoulder, i looked above and noticed it was Anna who standing in front of me.

“Everything okay Eloise?, why are you sitting this way?,” she asked me with a concerned look on her face. How should I tell Anna about the stalker, she would be worried as well and I didn't want to trouble her. I gave her a small fake smile, “Nothing,” I said with a soft voice.

She took a seat besides me, “I know there is something wrong Eloise, please tell me so that I can help you,” she said while she placed her hand over my hand which I rested on the desk.

“You don't need to worry Anna, I am just having a headache that is the reason why I rested my head on the desk so that I could feel better,” I said in a soft voice.

I was actually having a headache after receiving these letters. I was in so much stress, and I wanted to share this with someone but I had no one with whom I could share this.

“Are you sure Eloise?,” she asked me with a concerned look on her face.

“Yes Anna I am sure, you don't need to worry about me, by the way I wanted to ask why Miss Riley called you in her office,” I said , trying to change the topic and move her attention to something else.

“Miss Riley wanted my help in a project, and she wanted me to present it that is the reason why she called me in her office, i am so sorry Eloise i won't be able to accompany you after school because I need to wait. Miss Riley wants my help and she asked me to wait after school, would that be okay with you. If you need me I will tell Miss Riley that I need something important to do and I could help her some other day because you don't seem well Eloise,” she said.

I knew she was concerned about me but this was her good chance and opportunity. I don't want her to miss this because of me.

“If you do that she will appoint someone else and she will replace you,” I said in a soft voice.

“I don't care about that Eloise, you are my friend and friends come first, i can see that you are disturbed today” she said with a concerned look on her face.

I placed my hand on her shoulder, “you don't need to worry about me Anna, I am okay and I don't want anyone to replace you in this project. I can go home alone. I am not a scary cat and I am not afraid of anyone. Please don't worry about me Anna,” I said trying to make her understand.

“Are you sure Eloise?,”

“Yes I am sure Anna,” I said and gave her a tight hug.

That's when the popular guy's words hit me, never trust your best friend as well. Anna is willing to leave a big project for me and how can she ever betray me. He is insane and she speaks nonsense. I shouldn't take his words into consideration. Soon our professor entered the classroom and after few minutes a few more students entered the class as well. Those were our seniors. I looked at Anna with a confused look on my face.

“What are our seniors doing here?,” I asked her in a soft voice

“There are two classes where our seniors and we share the same class. One is music and the other literature. This is the literature class,” she whispered back inu ears.

“Oh I see,” I replied back.

Suddenly all the girls began to cheer and there was a chaos in the class.

I saw that Anna was in shock as well.

“What happened Anna?, why is the entire class in chaos?,” I asked.

“That is because the popular guy Damon is here, he has never taken the literature and arts class, this is the first time he has opted for this, and I cannot understand why. And why the sudden change in mind” she said with a confused look on her face.

“Everyone silent!,” the professor yelled which made the entire class silent.

“As you know, when it's the new academic year, I decide on the placement. So whenever I enter this class I want you to be seated in the same order which I will be providing today,” he said in a stern voice.

He began to separate all of us, Anna was seated in another seat and only my seat was vacant. I didn't have a partner. What happened next made my heart beat faster and I could feel the butterflies in my stomach.

“Damon you will be seated next to Eloise,”
