You need to stand for yourself

Eloise POV

Damen took a seat besides me, he had an expressionless face, no one could understand what he was thinking. I sat in the corner while I placed my bag in between both of us. He looked at me and then he stared at the bag. Again he had no expression on his face. It was difficult to figure out what he was thinking. “You don't need to worry, I won't try to get close to you or harm you.” Saying that he looked towards another direction.

“No I am not afraid of you,” I said in a soft tone

He looked at me again, “I thought the rumors made you do this, your best friend must have told you a lot about me,” he said with a serious tone.

“No she didn't,” I tried to defend Anna.

He didn't respond and began to look at the professor who started with the class.

I clenched my dress tightly as I didn't know how to react. I was feeling uncomfortable as most of the girls were staring at me and they looked annoyed and jealous.

I could hear one girl whispering mean things about me, like how she can be so lucky to have the most popular guy sitting besides me, i have done some kind of magic on the prof, but I don't have any powers. How can I do that? Why are they so mean??.

Damen suddenly looked towards the girl who was speaking mean things about me, “what is your problem?” He said in a serious tone and this time he had a serious look on his face, he looked angry and his anger could send cold shivers down anyone's spine.

He was so loud that the professor stopped teaching.

“What happened Damon?,” the professor asked him with a concerned look on his face

He looked towards the professor, “This girl knows better what she is trying to do here, why don't you ask her yourself,” he said without moving his eyes off that girl.

“Lara, what happened?, what did you do?,” the professor asked her.

“What did I do??,” she said in a loud tone, “why don't you ask this girl what kind of magic she did which made you make Damon sit besides her!,” she said in a loud voice while she stood and pointed towards me.

Everyone began to stare at me, and I felt so embarrassed a few tears rolled down my cheeks. What is daman trying to do?, why is he embarrassing me in front of everyone?.

“She didn't do anything, I wanted to sit next to her, so next time if anyone has any problem speak to me, if anyone bothers her they will need to pay for it,” he said in a cold voice.

I couldn't understand what was happening here and why was he behaving that way. The first time and second he behaved so coldly and now he is telling everyone that he wanted to sit next to me. Why is he so weird?. Is he trying to defend me from everyone?, if he is trying to do that I don't need his help, I am not a weak girl who needs someone's help!.

The girl stamped her one leg hardly with anger, carried her books and began to walk out the class. She looked at me with anger, “You gonna pay for this ,” she said with pure anger in her eyes. More than angry she seemed jealous because Damon was sitting beside me.

Damon took a seat beside me, I kept staring at him with anger, because of him I made an enemy without any reason. I don't even know that girl, why did he do that?, why did he yell at her and get me involved in this?.

“If you keep staring at me I won't be able to concentrate,” he said in a serious tone without looking at me.

I was so angry that I couldn't concentrate in the class, i wanted to speak to him, I wanted to tell him to stay the hell away from me and I don't need his help.

I could see Anna from a distance, she looked worried for me.

She must be thinking how did I get myself involved in this, she clearly warned me to stay away from him but I got myself involved because of him.

After the lecture was done, Damon carried his bag and moved towards the exit of the class and he pretended as if nothing happened, I couldn't let this go easily.

I followed him and stopped him by holding his hand tightly, he stopped and stared at my hand but this time I didn't let go of him.

He then looked at me, “What's the matter?, do you have something to say?,” he asked me with a serious look on his face

“Yes I do have something to ask you and I would like to talk to you in person, so can we speak somewhere where no one is present,” I said in a soft voice while I looked around awkwardly, people were already staring at us.

“Fine,” he said.

I left his hand but then he held my hand tightly, and pulled me towards another class which was empty. He shut the door from behind and crossed his arms around his chest.

“Tell me, no one is here and I locked the door so one will disturb us here,” he said in a serious tone and a serious expression on his face.

“What you did out there was not right!,” I said in a loud voice.

“What was not right?,” he asked me.

What was not right?, How can he even ask me this question!, why is he pretending to be innocent as if he has done nothing?

“Why did you get me involved in this?Why did you yell at that girl?, she was talking about me right?, i could have handled her. Why did you stand for me?,” i asked him with a stern and loud voice.

His expressions changed suddenly, his eyes had widened and he stared at me for a while without saying a word. I needed answers not silence!!!.

“Say something!!,” I said in a loud voice.

He then moved towards me, and pushed me towards the wall, he pinned my hand above my head and stared into my eyes.

My heart started beating faster, and his touch felt different, I don't why but I felt emotional and a few tears rolled down my cheeks, “How dare you raise your voice in front of me?, no one has behaved this way with me before!. You are a newbie so I can understand you don't know anything about me. I hate it when someone speaks to me that way!,” he said while he stared into my eyes, I could feel his warm breath on my cheeks.

He was breathing heavily as well, and his body was so close to me.

“I made an enemy because of you,” I said in a soft tone. “I am new here and making enemies on the second day of school is not a positive thing, she seemed so angry,” I said in a soft voice while I lowered my head, i couldn't look at him as he was continuously staring at me.

He moved behind by letting loose on me, my eyes widened as he suddenly banged his first on the wall, his first began to bleed, why did he have to hurt himself, did I say something wrong?.

“I am sorry,” he said in a soft voice.

“I don't why but I didn't have control over myself, please don't do this again, I don't think I will be able to have control of myself and I would do something bad. I don't want to hurt you. You are not at fault and you don't have to stay silent, I waited for you to speak for yourself but you were seated there without standing for yourself so I had to stand for you. Next time if you don't want me to get involved, learn to stand for yourself.”

I could feel butterflies in my stomach, but I still had a question. I am unknown to him and why he had to do this for me?. I looked at him again and dropped the idea of asking any other question,

He then looked at me while breathing heavily, “You keep saying that you are strong but you are still not strong” saying that he unlocked the door and left.

How did he know that I keep saying this to myself?

I slowly moved towards the door and left the empty class. I could see that people had surrounded the class trying to hear our conversation, people were whispering about me. He is actually right, why should I be afraid of anyone, I have not done anything wrong here??, why should I be embarrassed, i have not done anything wrong. I need to raise my head high and walk instead of lowering my head.

I walked towards the class and took my seat, Anna took a seat beside me, I knew she had a lot of questions going on in her head.

“What is all this happening Eloise?,” she asked me in a soft voice.

“I don't know Anna, I never wanted all this, I never wanted to get involved with Damon, I don't know why he stood for me?, i could stand for myself. I cannot understand why he had to do this,” i said in a soft voice while I lowered my head.

“This is bad!, he is not a good guy, Eloise. I don't know why the professor made him sit besides you. He had a very bad reputation,” she said with a sigh.

“What did he do?,” I asked her in a soft voice.

“He blamed an innocent werewolf for something which he had not done. That innocent werewolf was expelled from the school and I hate him!,” she said while clenching her fist in anger.

“Who was that werewolf?,” I asked with a curious look on my face

“I don't want to discuss that with you Eloise, anyways it's the past and I don't think we should discuss this. The only thing I know is that Damon is not a good guy and he is up to no good. So please stay away from him. I cannot understand why you were alone with him in that class,” she said with a concerned look on her face.

“I wanted to speak to him about what happened here earlier. I wanted to ask him why he had to get me involved in this situation, I don't even know that girl, Anna,” i said in a soft voice.

I don't know who that girl is and why she was jealous. What's her relationship with Damon?.

“Her name is Lara, and she is considered as one the famous female wolf here, every guy here is in love with her except Damon. She liked Damon and wanted him to be hers but he was never interested in her actually he was never interested in any girl.” She said.

I need to stay away from him and make sure I don't get involved in any other drama again.

“Be careful Eloise, Lara is a person who seeks revenge. She will definitely try to do something fishy, please be cautious. Damon's sudden interest in a girl is definitely going to trigger her. She will definitely try to act smart with you and she will try to put you down,” Anna said with a concerned look on her face

I never wanted this!, being a human was already difficult for me and now a werewolf who is rich and famous wants revenge from me for something that I have never done. All this because of Damon. I then saw Damon sitting on the ground on a bench along with his three friends and he kept staring at me, again he didn't have any expressions on his face.

I closed the blinds of the window and concentrated on the next class. I am done with this stupid drama!.
