Chapter 5

"Good morning, sister," Mara said, smiling at her. Mina was shocked, she had expected her to flare up but she sat up unmoved.

"You know, it's my first time going to an Alpha meet-up, so Ryker had promised to take me with him. Since the rule is a luna, that means you will have to go alone," Mina said, mocking, covered with innocence.

Mara burst into laughter, chuckling afterward which only surprised the omegas. They knew that Mara didn't want her to stay, but why she was laughing when she was taking her spot baffled them.

"I already know, Ryker told me, but I am not going alone, I will be going with Leo," she responded with a smile. "Come sister, have a seat," she said and heaved her to a seat beside her.

Mina knew her plans failed, she had intended to spoil her mood and then be the one who admitted the dresses the Omegas should wear, thereby choosing those who will accompany them.

Mara chuckled, knowing she had just won another battle over Mina. She already knew what would happen next, she would drag the dressing roll with her. Everything she accepted would be rejected by her and vice versa. And also she knew that she ordered a more alluring dress just as she had hers, incredible!

"You got a good dress, it will fit you, I love the design," Mara said.

"No, sister, it is too short. She might entice the Alphas," Mina complained. That was what Mara meant to say, but since she knew Mina could complain, she rather said the opposite.

"It is true, it is too short, that means you wouldn't be going," Mara agreed. She could hear groaning from Mina and she chuckled.

The next maid stood before them when Mina saw she was being played with, she decided to accept Mara's suggestion, Mara also made sure she said the right thing until it got to Mina's maid, she turned her down but Mina wanted to twist it to her favor but Mara said she wouldn't attend.

Did she know the reason why? She might be used to poisoning her again. Her mind told her that Mina would attempt to poison her again. She wanted to personally watch Mina at the party, so she didn't want an accomplice.

She left afterward after choosing the twenty omegas to attend with them, she and Lydia walked back to her room to freshen up.

She already knew the dress Mina would wear, so she and Lydia had made a plan with one of the seamstresses at her father's pack. The dress would be delivered at the Alpha meet-up party, which meant that she would have to change before walking into the hall.

After dressing up with the dress she made in the pack, immediately she stepped out, she met Leo by her door, waiting.

"That is an awesome dress, Mara," Leo complimented, Mara could only chuckle, she knew that the dress was beautiful but Mina's own would be preferred to hers so she wouldn't say anything yet.

They walked out to find all the pack members going with them outside, waiting for them.

Everyone was stunned when they saw that the dress Mara wore was of the same materials as that of Mina, the differences were that Mina had hers tightly fitted and it has knee length and then another flare gown at the back, a beautiful lemon gown while Mara's own was just wine full-length ball gown.

Mina's dress has a flowering pattern which makes it more beautiful than Mara's plain one. Both were half arm's length.

"Woah! Beautiful, sister," Mina chuckled as they walked to them.

"Thank you, yours is even better, you must have taken a lot of time to get this to the seamstress in a short time," Mara stated, smiling at her foolishness.

Mina's eyes turned red because she expected Mara to feel so sad, seeing her dress was more beautiful than hers.

"You are beautiful," Ryker said, staring at Mina instead, his hand clenched her to himself.

He must be so happy that he chose wisely because his eyes lit up as he glared at the pattern on her dress.

"Let's get going," Leo said, seeing the way the atmosphere was. The omegas started to feel sorry for Mara, Mara smiling, Mina smirking, and Ryker grooming.

They all hopped into the car, Ryker and Mina in one car, Mara, Lydia, and Leo in another while the omegas took a bus, thirty in number.

The journey was a quiet one, Mara meditated on her mind, this was the first time she could be going out alone without Ryker and it pierced her heart, but him going with her sister made it even worse. Lydia peeked in her direction from the seat beside the driver and their eyes met, they both smiled. She had survived the first murder attempt and she could also survive any murderous at her too.

They got to the venue and they all stepped down, Ryker grabbed Mina's hand and Leo also grabbed Mara's hand. Ryker with Mina walked ahead while Leo followed with Mara's hand around his arm.

Mara's eyes met her seamstress from afar and she mind-linked Lydia.

"Leo, I need to visit the restroom, can you go ahead of me?" She requested but Leo refused.

"Ryker will be annoyed if I go in without you," Leo responded.

Mara knew that she would have to find a way away from him. She wanted to do this alone without anyone striking her.

"Okay, wait for me in the car, It won't be more than five minutes," she pleaded.

"Alright," he walked back towards the car while Mara dragged Lydia with her, passing through the left region.

The seamstress rented a room for a prominent Luna so they followed her into the room. The dress was brought out, Mara was so stunned, it was the perfect dress she had ever seen. She wore it and it fit perfectly. Lydia also made her golden hair and face.

Leo sat in the car for close to thirty minutes, but Mara didn't come back. He was worried, so he decided to go and look for her. He walked into the restroom, but he could only hear moans. Many thoughts came into his mind, was Mara cheating Ryker because of Mina? When he peeped, he saw a prominent Alpha f*****g an Omega from another pack, he had his d**k in the omega's mouth while he f****d her mouth, moaning so loud, Leo could only heave a relief sign.

"What's the heck?" The alpha yelled as he sighted him.

"f**k man, aren't you ashamed, your mate is waiting in the hall for you," Leo yelled back, then left afterward.

When he couldn't find her, he walked into the hall, but still nothing. He saw Ryker's hand traveling into Mina's legs in a corner, and he hissed. He wasn't in support of Ryker, abandoning Mara for Mina, but he couldn't do anything. It was already late yet the meeting hadn't started, and he didn't know why.

He walked towards them and whispered into Ryker's ear but the latter only waved him off. Leo became so annoyed.

"I said Mina is missing!" He screamed out, but this only annoyed Ryker.

"And so, I told you to watch over her, why will she get lost?". He ranted back but moaned as Mina loved what she heard and caressed his d**k.

He loved how her fingers snaked his d**k, sending a sensation into his spine.

Leo in anger yanked Mina away from him and faced him. "Aren't you no shame, Ryker? I thought you were wise. You abandoned your wife of three years to a mate of less than a week. It seems you are not as wise as you portrayed," Leo shrieked in anger.

Just then, there was a loud noise, everyone whirled to watch including Ryker, Leo, and Mina. A lady scrolled majestically and everyone could only watch in awe.

"Who is she?" Alpha Pete asked loudly.

"How will I know?" Alpha Davis, who stood beside him replied.

"Wow! So beautiful," Alpha Seans said.

"She looked like Luna Mara of Black axe," Alpha Uriah whispered.

"How can she be Mara, if she is this beautiful, her husband couldn't bring another lady," Alpha Seans replied.

Mara walked in fully, and she stood before them, as in the culture, any person who arrives must introduce himself or herself.

"I am Luna Mara of Black axe Pack," she introduced and they all clapped their hands in shock. Even Ryker was stunned, he never knew that she was this beautiful.

"I said it, didn't I? She is Luna Mara," Alpha Urriah screamed, walking to Mara to compliment her beauty, the other Alphas also did.

The Lunas were also stunned and also happy, they had been worried that she wouldn't come, but seeing her, they were happy, except for two of her enemies.

Mara was surrounded by everyone except the Omegas, Mina, Ryker, and Leo who stood watching. Ryker was jealous but he couldn't drag her away, but he watched in shock. It now drained on him that he had been unjust to her. He wanted to make it right after the Alpha meet-up was over alone.

Mina was annoyed at the turn of events, she had thought she had won them but little did she know that Mara was ahead of her. She decided to go ahead with her plan.

She called the bar attendant and asked for a bottle of alcohol and two glass cups. They were brought before her.

After pouring the drinks, she walked toward the restroom to clean up her hands from the powder she poured into one of the cups.

She returned, smiling. Carrying the drinks, she approached Mara who was busy chatting with some Lunas.

"Hey!" She called. The others were surprised, they had thought that they were quarreling.

"Hey, sister," Mara responded with a smile. Her eyes gazed at Lydia whose mind linked to her m, communicating that her mission was achieved.

"Care to have a drink to celebrate your dress? It was so perfectly made for you," Mina complimented but smirked inwardly.

"Thanks, sister," Mina replied as she collected the drink and gripped it down, and watched as Mina also did. She chuckled knowing well that she had just fallen into her trap herself again.

Mina left afterward, excusing herself to find her accomplice. She walked out and felt some headache, her eyes started rolling, then she fainted outside the hall. But her plan was to drug Mara because she would be frustrated. After all, Mina intended to arouse hatred for her among the Alphas and Luna present. Then she could drag her out without anyone noticing and kill her.

Mara intended not to die. Watching Mina walk out, she knew what she wanted to do, call her assassin, but she mind-linked Lydia and the latter followed Mina and came back to mind linking her that she had died.

After some minutes Mara heaved a relief sign, she was tired of questions poured out by the Alphas and Lunas. She was about to excuse herself when a loud message was passed.

"We are sorry for the delay, we are waiting for the Lycan kings' arrival, feel free to mingle," the voice said.

Everyone was shocked, for many years, the Lycan Kings had refused to honor their invitations, why did they do it now? The murmuring filled the room and everyone forgot about Mara and her dressing and focused on the Lycan kings' coming.
