Chapter 4

The pain showed that his mate was nearby. He grunted again, attracting the attention of his twin, Alan. "Alex, another grunt again, I wanna smack your head," Alan warned as he continued what he was doing watching some wild rogues coming toward their pack. The Lycans were powerful and stronger wolves, bigger than the normal wolves, because of this, many rogues preferred to attack them when they weren't watching and ruining their Packs. They were surrounded by normal wolves and they were respected because of their bigger shapes. Alex and Alan were the Lycan Kings of the Mountain top Pack and were the most powerful wolves in the surrounding area. They were also twins, identical but one thing differentiated them: their wolf's eyes, Alex's eyes, were gray while Alan had green eyes, apart from that, you would hardly recognize them. Alex stood watching again as the lady kept swimming, moving as if she was crying and angry. Just then the guy shifted to his wolf, even from the view, he already knew what he intended to do. He howled, even louder, shifting to his wolf. Alan saw this and quickly stood up from where he was and raced toward his brother, there, he saw her, she strode like a ray of sunshine, her beauty took his breath away. Her skin was like porcelain, smooth and flawless, and her eyes sparkled like diamonds. They were a deep shade of emerald green, framed by long, thick lashes that fluttered when she blinked. Her hair was a cascade of golden curls that fell her back, glinting in the light. Her nose was small and perfectly formed, and her lips were full and pink, like rose petals. She moved with fluid grace, each step like a dance, and her laughter was like music. Her curves were like a work of art, a perfect hourglass figure that seemed to have been sculpted by the gods. When she swiveled, it lit up her face, and he couldn't help but feel like he was in the presence of something truly special. She was the kind of woman who turned heads wherever she goes, a vision of loveliness that leaves him speechless His eyes fixed on her boobs which made him long to have them on his lips as he sucks. His eyes gazed to the left then he saw the intruder, a guy in his wolf, attempting to attack her. He also shifted into his wolf. With a swift race, they both jumped simulations from the height of the mountaintop, pulling out trees, eyes fixed on where they saw him shifting. They were indeed mad, they had already known that the lady was their mate but seeing a mere wolf trying to hurt her, agitated them. One thing in their minds, kill him! Mara, on the other hand, saw the two gigantic creatures scrambling toward her like a ravenous varmint, and her heart lumped, sending fear into her. She raced up, not minding her naked body, thinking they were coming to attack her. She hurried as if her life depended on the kilometer she could cover, just as her father had warned her countless times, she must take to her heel at any sight of the Lycans. Overthinking while running, she didn't know when she bumped into someone and they both hauled down to the ground. She already knew he wasn't a Lycan, he had no aura around him that justified it. When she gazes at him, it was Ryker's Beta, Leo. "Are you alright?" He queried as well as tried to help her up. "What are you doing here?" She implored, focusing her attention on her dress which he was holding. "You can have them back," he declared and then looked away. It wasn't a big deal for a male to look into the nakedness of a female werewolf. It was a normal thing, even the day after, they saw Ryker and Mina naked bodies, so she had no shyness about it but he was feeling crept up just for scaring her alluring body. He never wanted to be tempted. Her hands grabbed her dress from him and put them on instantly. "How do you find me?" She asked again, intending to know if her betrayed husband had sent his friend over just to find her. She had recovered from her fears knowing that the Lycan couldn't come over, it could be termed intrusion at the Alpha's meeting. "Ryker sent me," he replied "To do what?" There was a golden silence but as she was waiting for his response she was also feeling the anger coming back as she remembered how he had betrayed her. They had been friends, he wasn't forced to promise her then that he could reject his mate, he willingly did it, now he betrayed her and he now sent his friend to her, to do what? "You need to calm down, Luna, I am not happy about this, but you should try to let it..." he tried to explain but she wasn't ready to hear it. She already knows why he was here, looking for her and not Ryker. "Did Ryker send you here to talk to me about this?" She calmly said as she gaped into his eyes. The spaces between them seemed just a long inch yet she could feel so tense. "Yes, he did. He was worrying that you could hurt yourself," he said as he narrowed his lips. It was visible to her that he never likes to relate such messages but as his friend and Beta, he had no choice. She was done listening to talks about this, she decided to ignore everything that might make her feel so bad. "Tell him, it isn't any of his business. He had got what he wanted, so he should let me be," She walked past him but halted after some steps. "There are two crazy Lycans in the north wing, in case you want to die," she yelled and raced back toward the pack. She walked into her Beta's room and saw her sitting on her bed pondering, "What is going on?" Lydia asked in confusion, "I have been looking for you," she added. "Sush!" She covered her mouth with a finger, motioning her to be silent. She dragged her to a seat and sat her down. She told her everything, "Lol! Do you think the Lycans were working for Mina," Lydia found it hard to believe it, but at that moment, the door of Lydia's room burst open and Ryker walked in, hands in his pocket. "What is going on? Why are you not in your room?" Ryker said, walking fully, "Leo just told me about the Lycans," Mara was shocked, she never expected him to be alright, if he was alright that meant Mina was also alright. "What do you think happened, betrayal?" Mara flared up, standing from the bed. Ryker's eyes gazed at Lydia, "Excuse us," he said, but when Lydia wanted to walk out, Mara stopped her. "She is going nowhere," Mara saw that she didn't want her to leave, she wanted her to give her the gist of what happened to Mina after she left. "What are you talking about? I need to speak with you in privacy," he lowered his eyes, feeling embarrassed. It saddened him that Mara was talking to him in such a manner over a little disagreement. "We don't need any privacy. If you need it, you could have told me first before f*****g her," she grunted, furrowing her eyebrows. "Woman, try to be considerate..." he tried to explain, but she didn't want him to. "Stop there, I don't want to hear anything," she refused, halting him. "Ouch! I want to inform you that you and I wouldn't be able to attend Alpha's meet-up together. I have promised Mina that I will take her instead. Try to understand me, you know I love you but my wolf is hungry for her wolf," he explained but Mara could only listen so dumbly. She had thought about it, he would be frustrated about who to take with him, she had known it could be Mina and he could say she wouldn't be attending, but she was still sad. How could he do such a thing to her? How could he want her sister to take her place? "You can do whatever you please, it is your life, but I will take my father's seat from you," she bluntly said. Since her father had died, Alpha Ryker had taken his seat and her father's seat at the Alpha's meet-up, which means, recently he always sat there, this made him level up with some powerful Alphas. Not that he wasn't powerful but his level was below her father's. She wouldn't allow him to have the privilege of this with her sister, never, knowing it was the same seat her sister killed her for. "C'mon, this isn't up to that. She is your sister, even your eldest. She deserved it more, but Mara, I am not giving her your role or seat nor am I neglecting you. You are my love, my chosen mate, don't let us prolong this issue. It isn't for me but for my wolf, babe, get it," he pleaded, trying to make her consider his plea but no, Mara was adamant. "Ryker, I don't want to hear it. You can f**k her as long as you want. Anyway, about the Alpha's meet-up, I will go with Ham..." she was cut up by Ryker's grunt. "You will do no such, you will go with Leo, he has accepted to go with you," he stated, drawing some anger on Mara's face. "How dare you choose someone to go with me to the Alpha's meet-up?" She shrieked at him. "Calm down, Ham is a lower rank and not fitting you as my queen, the Luna of two great Packs. Moreover, Leo is my Beta, he will be able to guard you," he explained. My gaze fell on Lydia and she mind linked her to accept. "Okay," she muttered. "Just take care of yourself. I don't forget our promise, I may have claimed her but I can still reject her when her wolf is calm," he assured. She knew it could be hard to reject a bond when they were under the same roof, she never wanted to believe anymore. He left a few minutes after. Lydia gisted her on what happened. "Unfortunately, the doctor got the antidote to the poison. A patient had suffered the same ailment, so the remaining antidote was used to save her life," she had explained. Mara didn't want her to die anyway, so she had no choice but to wish her well. ** The next morning, Mara and Lydia woke early to supervise the maids and omegas, this was due to the fact that Mina might still have the poison and may attempt again. Everyone knew it was poison, but nobody knew how she got poisoned. The Alpha meet-up party will be in five days, Mina used the period to rest, pretending to be sick. Ryker spent a lot of time with her and he could end up f*****g her many time each day. Mara announced the party to the omegas and told them to choose their dress style and met with the seamstresses. Five days later, Mina was still pretending to be bedridden, she never for once left her room. There wouldn't be breakfast at the Pack because they could be going earlier before breakfast time, but there would be hot herbal tea. The tea was brewed and cups were washed before the Luna. Mara was happy at how turned things have been, the maids and omegas were obedient to her as if nothing happened at all. She and Lydia had mopped out a plan, so she could be going with her and also the two changes of dresses she could wear were planned. After the tea, the omegas who will be going with them showed off their new dresses to Luna to make sure they haven't chosen those who were dirty and smelling to other packs. The dresses were made by the Pack's seamstresses and consisted of trained Omegas. Each one of them brought their dresses one after the other. Mara and Lydia sat down when the Omega lined up. The first Omega was about to raise her dress when the door bolted open, Mina and Mora scrolled in. "Good morning sister, I am sorry to be late," she said as she stood before Mara blocking the first Omega from showing her dress.
