We entered into the small building and he sat some things down. He walked over to me and lifted my face to meet his. He leaned down and kissed my lips softly. "Do not ever feel ashamed for being with me. Things will get smoother and you will learn to love me. For now, let's get dinner made, shall we?"
I just nodded and looked around the small room. I had never felt more alone, more angry with myself to the point I was ashamed to even speak about the situation.
"I'm actually not hungry." I sat on the smaller couch and pulled my legs up to me. "You need to eat a little something." He walked over to the kitchen and began pulling things out.
"I said I am not hungry." I glared at the back of his head.
He stopped what he was doing and stood there in silence before he turned to look at me. "Well when you do finally get hungry you'll have something to eat."
"Okay." I watched him move around the small kitchen and start cooking. I put my chin on my knees, resting it there. I closed my eyes and sighed. I heard rustling in the kitchen and clanking of dishes together. I laid down and turned to face the back of the couch. I thought of my next move and figured the best time to make an escape would be in the middle of the night.
I wasn't sure where I was but I would just go in one direction or another.
After I ran over what to do in my head I sighed and sat up. The food smelled pretty great and I figured I should eat. I stood, walking into the kitchen. I pulled the plate he made over and took the aluminum foil off. It was still really warm and I sat opposite of him and started to slowly eat. "Thank you." I never looked up at him.
He watched me as I took several bites, "Are you tired?"
I shrugged "Kind of."
"Okay we can go on a walk tomorrow." He stood and walked over to the bed, laying down and stretching out. He pat the side of the bed next to him once I was finished. I walked over and sat down on the bed. He reached out and pulled me to him. I laid back against him and he nuzzled my neck. "You smell wonderful."
"Thank you." I snuggled into the pillow and closed my eyes. I drifted into a nap and woke to him snoring against my ear.
I shifted in his arms and slid the pillow into my spot. I stood up and walked into the bathroom and looked at myself. "You can do this." I whispered to myself. I turned on the faucet and splashed cold water on my face.
I tip-toed out of the bathroom ever so quietly making my way to the door. I unlocked it and stepped outside. I took a deep breath and took off running to the woods.
I ran so hard and so fast, it was pitch black out. Branches were hitting my face, the pain pushed me further. I reached a river and looked around, my lungs burning from the run. I could barely see from the clouds covering the moon and sky. I listened for noise and took off down the river before crossing over a little ways down. I had been running for about 2 hours and tried linking Asher "Hello?"
"MS ANNA?!" was a frantic call out from Asher. "Where are you!?"
"I'm not sure by a river. I've been running for two or three hours. I don't know if he's following me." The link could travel a 10 mile radius from where we both were. I pushed through some thick brush and came out next to a road. "Asher I came to some road. I don't know which one though."
"Okay Ms. Anna, run in the direction you think is away and we will catch up to you. We're shifting into wolf form now to get to you faster." The link broke free and I took off and shifted myself Amethyst happily running as fast as she could. "Asher who is with you, Kingston?"
"And Ryker. He wants you safe." I could hear panic in his thoughts and I came to a sign.
"I found a sign! I'm close to human territory of Glenwood." I circled and looked around. I could hear a vehicle coming and jumped through the brush.
"Okay you're on Green Woodland territory, Turn left and run, we are halfway to you. Ryker has pushed ahead and is running full sprint mode." The link cut out again.
I turned and ran in the direction and I could hear howling in the distance. I changed back to my human form and put my clothes back on. I heard sticks breaking and looked behind me "There you are." It was Grant. "Going out for a run?"
"My wolf was restless and she took off and got us lost."
I linked Asher "He's here."
"Bullsh**" He jumped me then and I shifted back to Amethyst and kicked him into a tree. I growled at him in warning.
He shifted mid air still hitting the tree. He growled back and lunged at me. I dodged him and attacked him when he landed, sinking my canines into his leg. He yelped and turned around his front paw flinging and connecting with my snout. I growled and lunged at him he moved but not before I snapped at the nearest body part and drug him back with me. His tail in my mouth I slung him into a rock, him hitting his head and going still.
I walked over to him and heard Ryker behind me and Amethyst perked up "MATE MATE MATE MATE!" He was already in his human form and I shifted back and looked at him and began crying. He wrapped his arms around me and I melted into him. He took a deep breath and kissed the top of my head. "Mine" he whispered.
I inhaled his scent he smelled of warm firewood and pine. "Mine." I whispered back to him. It was like a magnetic pull was pulling us together, warm and fluttering throughout my entire body.
Asher and Kingston both pulled up in a suv moments later and ushered me inside shutting the door behind me. We left Grant out in the woods using his knockout as the opportunity we needed to get me to safety. I was still crying. "Shh. Everything is going to be okay." Ryker spoke to me softly and rubbed my back. A part of me wanted to withdraw from him but our Mate bond kept me next to him. I felt so utterly broken inside.
About a few hours later we pulled up to the pack house in Green Woodland and got out of the SUV. I looked around and people stopped and looked at me curiously. I heard the sounds of whispering and I just looked ahead of me as we walked up the staircase. We walked to Rykers office, closing the door behind us. "Let us discuss what to do about Grant. I am sure he found out your fighting ability quickly tonight seeing how you took him down. I was sure I was going to get to you too late." He gritted his teeth in anger. "I'm sure he feels he still has claim to you." He unrolled a map on the desk and the three of them huddled around it.
I looked down at my hands nervously. I might as well get this out in the open now and be honest. If he was going to reject me, let's not get to involved in feelings. "He might have some claim to me."
All three of them stopped and looked up at me. "What do you mean he might?" His voice sounded angry.
"Well you see some things happened while we were together." I was nervous and my voice broke and tears started streaming down my face as I continued. "He made me submit to him and we had s** once then the first night he tried forcing himself onto me." I was full on crying now reliving the events now that I was safe I just let it all go.
Ryker walked around and squatted down and pulled me into his arms. "It's okay no one blames you, he forced himself on you and he will pay dearly for everything he has done to you." He placed a soft kiss on my lips. "You have absolutely nothing to worry about." He stood and walked back over to the desk.
It felt as if the weight of the whole world had just been lifted off of my shoulders. I was forever thankful for my Mate. Together nothing was impossible, especially making Grant pay for everything he's done to me, to Gracie, and all of the lies he has told. I was ready to put this all behind me. The sooner the better. It was going to take time to heal from the emotional damage. First things first, I stood and stepped up to the desk and they all looked at me "Okay guys, where do we start?" Ready to start the healing process. "I want to be involved."
Asher and Kingston looked over to Ryker, "Are you sure?" He questioned me.
"Very much so, I want him to pay, more than you three, for everything." I said determined.
"Okay let's take a look at the map of both territories." He opened a second map and all four of us huddled over the top of it.
