Chapter 29

Ryker POV I stood there in the doorway, slightly confused. I could feel her and her wolf but she was still sleeping. I turned as the old man shuffled his feet behind me. I moved into the room to let him pass by me. "I can feel her and her wolf why isn't she awake yet? You said she was fighting the vent, I don't understand!?" I watched as he walked to her body and looked back at me. "I'll have to read up on an ancient history of our pack to see what I can come up with. I am sure her body is just waiting for the moon Goddess to release her. She will be fine, just give it time." He walked to me and pat my shoulder. "I'll see what I can come up with Alpha, don't you worry." "Thank you Doc." I smiled down at him as I heard three voices talking at the elevators. It was Lillian, Asher, and Kingston still discussing their plans about Blood Moon. They're voices got louder as they approached the room. A small knock on the door as they entered and Lillian spoke "Hey brother, I can also feel her presence as she is our Luna. She's here. Why isn't she awake though?" Her hand rested upon my shoulder as she looked down at Annabelle. Asher cleared his throat and walked to the other side of her bed. He took her hand and kneeled down, closing his eyes. He must have been praying to the Moon Goddess for her. Kingston stood at the foot of the bed and just looked at her with a puzzled expression on his face "Yes, why isn't she awake? I can feel her presence also. It's very strong." I shrugged my shoulders because honestly, no one knew why she wasn't awake. Doc had theories but no one knew. "I don't know, Doc went to have him and his team do some research. He said it may be inconclusive seeing how medicine has progressed quickly over the years." I brought her hand to my lips and laid a soft kiss upon them. I felt sparks shoot through my body, the mate bond still strong. "We can wait to visit. We were discussing it and we all three feel its safer to wait to visit Blood Moon. It wouldn't feel right to go without you or our Luna. So she can speak for herself." Lillian hand left my shoulder as she turned to sit on Anna's bed and was facing me. I know seeing her like this was hard on everyone. Anna has been here a short time but everyone loved her so much already. She was just taking her time to get better, stronger because she's going to need it. Especially if Alpha Duncan is promising a war. I gritted my teeth, what a fool. He was getting senile in his old age. I watched my sister and the others sit for a long while with me. It was quiet and peaceful as we sat there at her bedside. Every now and then one of us would close our eyes and pray for her to wake up. We were all startled and jumped up to attack whoever was storming in the room. "Oh, sorry I haven't rushed so much in a long time. I was afraid I would of missed you. Its been several hours. I know you're all very busy." Doctor Johnson stumbled through and I relaxed some as he continued. "Anyway, one of my research teams found that your wife is a rare wolf. She is changing right under our noses as we speak. She is still herself but different. She will be the same height when she shifted last, but these documents here" he held up his hand full of folders and scrambling to open them, "show us that our Luna will be blessed by the Moon Goddess herself! She will have a different marking on her body, her eyes will be a sea teal in color and her wolf will be different. Her eyes will deepen and nearly glow when in her wolf form." I watched him, he handed me the folders and I read through them, skimming for more information. There were no pictures and it was all copied hand writing and not typed out. "Interesting." I looked back at her and noticed that her skin was different as was her hair. her hair had small silver strands going through it, almost as if she had just got it fixed at a salon. Her pale skin had warmth to it and it was as if she was kissed by the sun. I turned looking at the older man "Thank you, did you find anything else?" He nodded "Yes, I did. She will be very powerful. Her wolf will be larger, which I am sure you seen already. She can already show what has happened in her past to others. She will also have a healing ability, how strong it is and how she uses it, I haven't a clue. It said, in here" he reached for the blue folder and skipped through pages pointing, "that excess use of this power can weaken her. But she is strong and powerful naturally already. I just don't know what the full extent is. It differs from every wolf who has transitioned into being blessed." We all turned to look at her and I smiled and smoothed the hair on her head "See you've never needed me, Asher, or Kingston to help you. You've had the strength all along, my love." I looked at Asher as he spoke to her now. "We have just been here to guide you through your journey." He gripped her hand and nodded at me. "See we should wait for her to wake." Lillian placed a hand on my arm and squeezed it in support. "She would want to confront them herself anyway." She smiled at me. Kingston looked to the door his eyes glazed over in a link with someone. He looked back at me "Her parents just crossed our border and are on the way here. I will go meet them and fill them in on everything we just learned. Help keep them at ease and panicking. Apparently Alpha Duncan said if they cross the border into ours they will be banished." His face turned into a frown and I shook my head. "The nerve of him, please go meet them, have someone take their things to their room also." He nodded and walked out the door. "I will be back shortly Alpha." We sat and waited for them to arrive. I couldn't believe he would banish his previous Beta for wanting to see their daughter, who everyone had thought was dying. All because she fought for her life. It angred me and only provided fuel to my fire of hatred I had for him. Asher broke my train of thought "We can make them both a part of our pack." Lillian nodded and stood "What a wonderful idea! What do you think, brother?" She smiled warmly at me and stepped back away from the bed. I nodded "Sounds like a great plan. Can you take care of the ceremony plans for them to be members of the pack?" "Absolutely, it'll be a small gathering of just us, of course. In your office?" She was walking to the door, she stopped and turned to look back at us "Anna will be thrilled and so very happy when she wakes." She left and closed the door softly behind her. I looked over at Asher and stretched back in my seat "Go home to your mate and relax some." He nodded and walked out the door. I was so thankful to each and every single one of them.
