Chapter 2: Found

2101 Words
Oliver's POV I think I am in love with Isaac Schemer. Yes, while I was about to fight in war, I said I loved him, but it was just the adrenaline at the time. Isaac said that was why he said it. He is so amazing and so passionate about everything. He just makes me feel like I'm floating in air. I was never into dudes before I saw Izzy. He genuinely makes me happy. “I want to make Isaac my boyfriend.” I said to Kade and Joey while Isaac was in the bathroom. We were out at lunch at this organic restaurant that Izzy loves. Kade's eyes widened. “Oh, really?” “Yeah, I finally think I can make a commitment to him. I think.. I think I'm in love with him.” “You do?” “Yeah, he's amazing, why wouldn't I be?” Kade looked over at Joey who was speechless. They eyed each other and I gave them a confused look. “What'd I say?” I asked. “Nothing, it's just.. congratulations.” Joey said. Isaac sat down and I smiled at him. He looked at all of us. “What?” “Oh, nothing.” Kade said. “Okay..” He said. We got into a conversation about college while I just looked at Isaac. He talked to passionately about what he wanted to do. He wanted to become a physical therapist and he always said that he wanted to help people get back on their feet. He knows how it feels to be vulnerable, to be numb, and he wants to help. When Isaac got stabbed after the whole hunter situation with Kade, he had to do one physical therapy session, then he was completely healed. With wolf's bane, wolves heal extremely slow, so for Isaac to be able to walk, he needed training. He loved how calm the girl was and he was just saying that he really wanted to do that. He wanted to help people back on their feet. “So how's college though?” Kade asked him. “Good! I already got my first two years of college done in high school with the Advanced College Academy program, so I have amazing classes.” I smiled over at him and I paid for Isaac and my food while Joey paid for his and Kade's. I set the right amount of cash down along with a tip. We all got up and got into Joey's car, which was full of bags. We went shopping before we went to lunch because of Kade and Isaac. Tyler had been with us at the beginning of the day, but she had a paper to write. We pulled into camp and grabbed our bags, saying bye to Kade and Joey. I helped Isaac with his as we got into his house. He smiled at his parents and went into his room. “Today was fun.” “Yeah, it was.” He said, happily. I love how Isaac is always so happy. Even when something bad happens, he's still vibrant. Except when it's his family. Ryan was actually doing really good. He's almost completely healed and I finally got Isaac to calm down about being protective over him. “Are you staying the night?” He asked, putting clothes away. “Yeah since I stayed at home last night.” “Okay, we'll just watch a movie or something.” “Can I ask you a question?” I asked, sitting back on his bed. “Of course.” “How come.. how come you've been so irritable on the full moons?” His eyes widened, not looking over at me. “I have been?” “Yeah, the only explanation is that.. that you found your mate.” My eyes widened as I came to the realization. He found his mate. I got up and backed away from him. “I didn't find my mate, Oli.” “Yes, you have. Don't lie to me.” “Oli, I'm not lying.” He said, finally looking at me. “You are!” I yelled. “Oliver, calm down. I didn't find my mate and I'm not leaving you.” “Don't you f*****g lie to me, Isaac! I know that you did! You've been super horny and really tired! And you're eyes never go back to their normal color!” “OLIVER!” He yelled, putting his hands on my shoulders. I looked up into his eyes. I calmed down and I then realized that I really wanted to cry. “Don't leave me.” I whispered. He sighed and sat next to me. He wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him. “I will never leave you. Even when I find my mate.” I ran a hand over my face and stood up. “We have to stop this, Isaac. You're gonna find your mate soon. I just want to end it now, so I don't have to deal with heartbreak.” His eyes went soft. “I told you.. I don't want to end this. Ever.” “You're gonna move on, Izzy.” I whispered. “I won't.” “You will.” “But I won't.” “I gotta go.” I said, picking up my bag. “No, you don't, so stop. Lay down with me. We don't have to talk at all. I just.. I can't sleep when I'm not by you.” I gave him a soft smile and laid down next to him. “Okay.” I know that I said that I was gonna ask Isaac to be my boyfriend, but this is wrong, right? I mean.. there's someone out there for him and me. It's like we're betraying them! “Don't over think what we're doing, Oli.” I heard Isaac whisper. “You found your mate.” I whispered, trying not to believe it. “Yes, I did.” I shot up in his bed and he turned on the lamp. I stared at him with wide eyes. “What?” “I guess I gotta tell you now.” He whispered. “Tell me who it is.” I whispered, tears clearly about to fall. I love this man in front of me. I don't want him to leave me for another boy. I want to be his mate, but.. he would've told me if we were mates, so I know it's not possible. “Oli..” “Who the hell is it?!” I yelled, shooting up in bed. He squeezed his eyes shut and ran a hand through his hair. “Oli, I was gonna wait and tell you-” “So you could f**k both of us, huh?! Is that why?!” I yelled. “No-” “You know what.. I don't even f*****g care who it is, Isaac! I just want to know why you lied to me! You said you didn't find your mate, but you did! How long have you been hiding this from me?! Why did you hide this from me, actually?!” “IT'S YOU!” He screamed at the top of his lungs, then put his hands over his face, sobbing. “But.. you never..” “I wanted to wait for you to feel the bond!” “You were gonna wait a year and a half?!” I screamed. “YES! Because that's what I thought you would've wanted! “NO! IT'S NOT!” “Oli, you're my mate. We can be together.” He said, walking around the bed and in front of me. “No, we can't.” I whispered. “Why not?” “Because you lied to me, Isaac. You had a million chances to tell me and you never did.” “Oli-” What I did next surprised the hell out of me. I felt the pang in my chest when I lifted my fist and smashed it in his face. He fell back on the bed with a yelp, holding his face. He looked up at me with a terrified expression. “You can go f**k yourself, Isaac!” I yelled and ran out of his room. I ran past his parents and brother who looked terrified aswell. I ignored them and just threw the front door open with force. It slammed against the wall, making the house shake and pictures fall. I screamed in frustration as I ran towards my house. There were a group of teenagers in the courtyard, watching the stars. I ignored them and kept running. I threw my own front door open. My parents were sitting on the couch. My dad had his laptop in his lap, typing things. My mom was sitting on the ground in front of the coffee table. She had papers spread out on the table. They looked up at me and shot up when they saw me. “What's wrong, baby?” Mom asked. I hugged her, tightly, trying to forget he events that just happened. “Oliver, what happened?” Dad asked and I separated from my mom. “I-I-Isaac..” I said and collapsed onto the ground. Dad caught me and set me in his lap. I cried into his shoulder. Mom rubbed my back to soothe me. I heard a door open and I knew Oscar heard. I looked up at my older brother and he kneeled next to us. “What happened to your knuckles?” He asked, taking my hand. There were bruises forming on my hand from punching Isaac. I seriously did not even think before I did it. I didn't mean to hurt him at all. “Tell us what happened.” Mom whispered. “I-Isaac and I are mates.” I said, but ended up sobbing again. “Is that a bad thing?” Oscar asked. “He had so long to tell me. He had a million chances. Why didn't he tell me?” Dad sighed. “It's hard to tell someone that, Oli. There's always that fear that they would reject them.” “But I wouldn't have.” “Oliver, you just did.” Mom said. My eyes widened and I covered my face with my hand. “How did you bruise your hand, Oliver?” Oscar asked. “It doesn't matter!” I yelled and shot off of my dad's lap. I ran to my room. I slammed my door shut. I threw myself on my bed. I dug my head into my pillow and just started screaming. I let myself scream for awhile, only stopping to take breathes. I heard my door open and Mom sat next to me. I looked up at her, stopping the screams. “It's going to be okay. You just have to talk to him.” “That's the thing, Mom! I don't love him anymore.” “What?” She whispered. I sat up. “When he told me that we were mates, I was prepared for him to say someone else's name. I was preparing myself for another name for so long. I was prepared for heartbreak. When he said it was me, my heart broke even more than it would've.” I saw the tears in my mom's eyes too. All she wanted was for me to be happy. All I wanted was to be happy. “Being away from him will help me, Mom.” “You could kill him.” “Okay.” I said, casually. “Look, we all know that you had a 'friends with benefits' relationship. There was no hiding that, but.. do you know what an actual relationship would be like with him?” “What do you mean?” “You haven't actually been in a relationship with Isaac. You haven't told everyone that you're dating. You've never went on a date in this town. You've never had s*x. You've never kissed him in public. You've never even told him that you loved him when you meant it. That's what a real relationship is, honey. I know you want that. So go get that.” “Mom, I c-can't. I'm sorry, but I can't anymore. He hurt me so much.” “Just think on it, 'kay?” “There's nothing to think about, but okay.” “Just.. please..” She got off of my bed, kissed my cheek, and left my room. I laid back on my bed and sobbed myself to sleep.
