Casey's POV
I let out a sigh when I stretched my arms while making my way down to the kitchen. I forgot how comfy the beds are.
I stopped walking when I found Abby alone in the kitchen in jeans, boots and, a tank top. Her hair was braided like always. It just gave you that beautiful view to her soft neck and, her shoulders. One of the places I used to like to tease her.
I smiled and, walked over to where she was standing. I heard her inhale sharply when my arms went around her to grab the last piece of bread from her plate.
"Don't you know about sharing?" I asked pulling away and, taking a bite from the piece of bread.
She turned around with a scowl visible on her face. I smiled when I noticed her cheeks were flushed.
"And last time I checked, it was rude to take someone's food." She pointed out.
"Sorry, I am hungry," I said raising my hands in surrender.
"Not my problem." She grumbled.
"I forgot how grumpy you are in the mornings," I said folding my arms.
"And, I forgot how arrogant you are." She replied.
"You used to like it."
She kept her mouth shut and looked away.
"Why are you so mad at me? I can't remember doing anything wrong." I asked feeling frustrated.
"You won't understand." She said trying to pass me but I stopped her by, grabbing her by her arm. "Make me understand. Tell me why you left and why you were upset. Please." I pleaded.
"I can't make you understand, Casey. I made a decision for both of us."
"Don't you think it is unfair to me that you made that decision for me? I have the right to know why you left me. Because I don't get any of this. You are mad at me, you can't look me in the eyes or even talk to me without insulting me."
"Don't you get it?" She asked angrily pulling free from my hold.
"What?" I asked confused.
"What we want is different."
"Meaning?" I asked.
"You want to be a star athlete and I want to be here on the farm doing what I love."
"But didn't I made it clear enough for that I wanted you? And that you were the most important person to me?" I asked.
"That isn't enough, Casey."
"What do you want more from me? Didn't I love enough? Didn't I made it clear enough?" I pushed, turning my back on her.
"I just think we are not meant to be." I heard her say after a while of silence.
"That's just an excuse. An excuse of making you feel better." I turned around. "Why are you like this?" I asked.
"From day one you saw me, you knew what I am and what I wanted to be."
"I am not talking about that. I am talking about how you are now. I don't know you like this at all. You pushing everyone away. I am disappointed in you." I said starting to make my way.
"You just can't handle the fact that I moved on and you didn't." I heard her say.
I stopped walking and turned back to her. "Moved on? You are calling this moving on??? Pushing everyone way means moving on. That bullshit."
"Don't mock me." She warned.
"Or what? Haven't you realize I am the only one that can handle you?" I asked.
"That's what you think."
"Well, let me demonstrate," I said gritting my teeth. I crouched down caught her by the legs and threw her over my shoulder.
"Casey! What the heck are you doing?" She yelled.
"Making a point. Now stop kicking." I growled.
"Not until you put me down!"
"Not gonna happen."
"When I get down from here I am going to murder you!"
"Try your luck, love. You will miss me too much."
I heard her scoff. I smiled when I didn't get a reply.
"You still hanging in there?" I asked. But got no reply. She went completely limp in my arms. I stopped walking and slowly lifted her up. "Abby?" I asked worriedly.
She let out a scream before she punched me in the face. Normally a girls punch felt like a bee sting but not Abby's. She could really get in a punch.
I dropped her by instinct, forgetting I was holding her over the water. She let out a scream and pulled me in. "f**k!" I yelled before my body made contact with the water.
I resurfaced and found her scowling at me. "Don't blame me. You were acting like an overgrown child."
"Me? You are the one, who can't get it into his head that I don't want you. I am done with you and this. You are wasting your time."
"Stop lying." I warned. She looked at me with a frown. "I am not lying."
"Yes, you are."
"I don't love you, Casey."
"Once again, stop lying to yourself. If you didn't love me anymore. I would have felt it the day I saw you after 1 year. But I know you still love me. I am not guessing, I know." Abby didn't say a word she just stared at me and I noticed for the first time, her white tank top was soaking wet giving you a good idea what was underneath.
I pulled off my shirt. "Put this on. You are distracting me." I said with a shy smile when she gasped and ripped the shirt from my hand.
"I don't know why you are shy. It is not like I haven't seen it." I said without thinking.
She let out a grumble and made her way out of the water.
I followed her back to the house when I caught her father standing outside on the porch with a cup of coffee in the hand and, a huge, smile plastered on his face.
"Now that was really interesting to watch. I think I am enjoying having you here son. Makes things a little bit interesting around here, don't you think so Abby?" He asked still wearing his amused smile.
