Casey's POV
She just stood there with her ankles and arms crossed as she was leaning against the wall of the house.
She wasn't making it easy. Just standing there watching me, the sweet Abby was gone and was replaced with this arrogant and tough girl.
"I am just going to leave the two of you." Her father said once he noticed her looking at me. He disappeared into the house.
"What are you doing here?" She asked pushing herself up from the wall.
"I am here to talk," I replied.
"We talked last night, Casey." She said. I smiled when she spoke my name. She raised an eyebrow. "Why are you smiling?" She asked.
I shook my head but couldn't wipe the smile from my face.
"Can we take a walk?" I asked slipping my hands into my pants.
"Yeah, sure." She replied. We walked side by side across the farm.
I hate the fact that I couldn't take her hand in mine or even take her into a hug. We found a spot to sit and I noticed she kept looking out in front of her.
Everything about her facial features was delicate but Abby was far from delicate.
"Why did you leave?" I asked looking out on the farm.
"You know why." She replied shortly.
"No, I don't because that note was bullshit."
"It has been 1 year, why now? Why are here now?" She asked with irritation.
"Because when I came here after you left, you showed me away and told me you moved on," I said trying to hide the hurt but it was still there.
"I did move on." She replied in a small voice. "Without me." I cut in.
She looked up at me with wide eyes. "Casey..." She started but I cut her off.
"Do you still remember your first day at school?" I asked her. She looked at me. "How can I forget? You bumped into me." She said smiling.
I rolled my eyes. "From that day I knew things were going to be different. You were the first girl that swept me off my feet. The first girl that made me nervous and drove me crazy. Moving forward without you is something I can't do. I tried. But it keeps on failing." I explained.
"What are you saying?" She asked.
"What I am saying is that I am refusing to move on without you. I am not going anywhere without you."

"My dad wants you to stay here instead of wasting your money to stay in some kind of hotel," Abby said as I was making my way towards my truck.
I turned around. "How do you feel about that?" I asked.
She lifted her shoulders. "You are staying no matter what." She said.
"If that makes you uncomfortable I rather sleep at a hotel in town," I said making my way towards my truck.
"From when have you gotten this arrogant?" She asked.
"From the day you walked out on me," I replied opening the door. But the door got pushed closed. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Just stay. For one weird reason, my father is crazy about you and it is going to bother him if you stay in town when we have 4 open rooms." She said.
"But I am not staying if that is not what you want."
"Still a damn gentleman." She scoffed.
"For you, always," I said reopening the door.
"Just answer this one question," Abby said.
"Why did you love me?" She asked her eyes never leaving mine.
"I didn't stop loving you let's make that clear first. And my answer to your question is. You were different, you made me feel different. I was a lost soul before I met you and with you, I found my way back." I said getting into my truck.
"My question to you is. Why did you stop loving me?" I asked starting the car. I pulled out their driveway before she could answer. I looked in the rearview mirror. Abby just stood there looking at me.
I arrived back in town, I got myself some food and made my way back to my room. I grumbled when I looked down at my shoes. Tomorrow I should think to get me some boots, my sneakers won't survive this journey any longer.
My phone started to ring, when I pulled it out I smiled when I saw the caller ID.
"Missing me already," I answered.
"You know it, baby."
"How was your flight?"
"Terrible. I feel like a walking corpse." I replied taking off my shirt.
"Oh, my poor sweety."
"You know if your fiance hears this she would think you are gay." I joked.
"Cindy is out with the girls," Henry replied. "So, I am stuck all by myself. Duan is gone for the weekend with Melissa. I think he is going to propose and you are all the way in Tennesse, running after the girl that left you."
"Are you drunk by any chance?" I asked smiling.
"Not a chance. Imagine being drunk all by myself. Won't they call it depression?" I let out a laugh. "You don't need to be drunk to be an i***t," I said still chuckling.
"So, how's our girl?" He asked.
"Pushing me away. She is tough, she moved on." I said.
"Is the famous Casey giving up on the girl of his dreams?" Henry asked dramatically.
"You know you should have taken a career in drama," I replied.
"Yeah, I would have kicked Justin Bieber's ass," Henry said proudly.
"Henry, he is a singer, not an actor."
"His life sounds like a damn movie with a brat." He said making me laugh. "Don't let the girls hear you." I teased.
"Screw them. My playboy days are over." He said sounding sincere.
There was a knock on my door. "Listen, say hi to everyone. I have to go."
"Yeah, love you too asshole," Henry said before hanging up.
I shook my head slipping my phone into my jeans pocket. I walked over to the door and opened it.
"Abby?" I asked surprised. But she wasn't looking at me. Her eyes were wide as she was staring at my chest.
I smiled when I found her eyes lingering on my chest. I cleared my throat making her head snap up. "Glad to see my body still leaves your speechless." I joked.
She blinked at me and then shook her head. "As if." She scoffed.
"So, what are you doing here?" I asked crossing my arms across my chest leaning against the doorway.
"Why don't you come and stay over at the farm? Everything is there." She said unable to look me in the eyes.
"Why?" I pushed.
Her gaze snapped to mine. She then let out a breath. "Because I want you there." She said softly.
"Sorry?" I asked cupping the back of my ear.
Her eyes narrowed. "You heard me."
"Sorry, I didn't. I have to get back to the game." I said starting to shut the door on her.
"I am so not begging." I heard her grumble.
Her hand shot out and she pushed the door open. "Do you want to stay on the darn farm with me or not?" She asked. All the nervousness were gone and was replaced with courage.
"I'll think about it."
"Casey, don't make me regret this." She warned.
"Regret what?" I played.
"You know what. Screw this." She said leaving the door. "Stay here all by yourself in this pitiful place, I actually feel sorry for you." She said started to walk off.
"Wait!" I called. She turned around a smirk visible on her face. She was enjoying this.
"Let me just pack my bags," I grumbled.
She smiled at me. Damn this girl.
