It's been a wfew days since my parents dropped the bomb in my lap about shifters. I still can't believe that they're real and that my family are shifters. I'm laying on my bed thinking about everything that they've told me about shifters. It's a lot to take in, but my mind is slowly processing everything. I've always lived wolves, so to know now that I'm one is somewhat exciting. I wonder what color my wolf I gonna be, I thought to myself. Just as that thought slipped through my mind, there was a knock on my door.
"Come in," I called out knowing it was either my mom or dad.
Mom stepped in and closed the door. By the look in her face, I knew she had something to tell me that I wasnt gonna like. She sat on the bed beside me and placed her hand on my knee. "Honey, now that we've told you about shifter, we think it's best if we go to live in a pack. Being in a pack also helps with a wolf changing for the first time, as your wolf will feel the presence of other wolves." She told me in a soft voice.
"Do we really have to move mom? I'm comfortable here." I whine.
"I know you're co.fortable here honey, but were thinking about what's best for you when the time comes for you to shift. We want you to be comfortable through the change as it can be quite painful without the presence of other wolves."
"But I have you and dad, you guys have wolves."
"Not just regular wolves honey, you need to be around strong wolves such as alphas and betas. They normally help with the first shifting into your wolf form."
I sigh upon hearing this. "Theres no way to change your minds for us to stay here, is there?"
"I really wish we could but were just not strong enough anymore to help you through your first shift."
"What are you talking about? You and dad aren't old!" I exclaimed.
"But we're not young either." She returns on a sigh.
She sounded tired. I blew out my breath and thought about for a minute. I didn't want to make them worry if they didn't have to.
"Fine. If that's the only way, then so be it. When do we leave?"
She clears her through and says, " We leave in a week." I quickly look up at her and open my mouth to say something. She continues before I could though. "We know that this is sudden Alexie. We just want to ensure that you're moved and settled before the shift. Please understand."
I sigh once more knowing that there's nothing I can do to change the situation I'm now facing. "Its ok mom, I understand. I'll start packing my things." She gives me a hug and then leaves.
