“Long time no see. I never thought you were still alive after the war. It’s been centuries, Luciel.”
Luciel growled in so much anger as he kept on holding Romina. “Of course, I am f*****g alive, you moron.”
“Hah, right. Of course,” Percival responded in a cocky smirk. “After you’ve fallen from grace, of course, you’re still alive. Sabi nga nila, hindi ba? Matagal mamatay ang mga masasamang damo*.” (This is a Filipino saying which means ‘The bad w**d doesn’t die that easy’.)
His eyes settled on Romina who’s now trying to reach Percival even if Luciel was trying to stop her. “That human. I just got a little taste of her soul and yet I could say that her soul is immaculate. Is it why you’re sticking with her? Did she make a contract with you? Poor her, getting stuck with a demon. But she will not gonna worry, I’ll end her suffering soon.”
With his death-scythe, Percival ran towards Luciel to attack him but Luciel managed to dodge it and blocked his death-scythe using his sword.
Chuckling as an insult, Percival spoke. “Do you really think you can defeat me with that lowly weapon of yours?”
As Percival attacked Luciel again, Luciel managed to dodge it a few times and managed to counter his death-scythe but as Romina was about to get hit by the death-scythe, Luciel immediately blocked the attack which made him get wounded on his left arm and threw his sword towards the angel. Percival managed to dodge it and move backward.
“Oh, what a nice view,” laughing, Percival said. “It’s really fascinating seeing you like this, Luciel. Being weak and helpless... just like when you’re still a kid.”
Angered but what he said, Luciel eyes started to become deep crimson in shade, and immediately threw any stuff at Percival using his telepathy.
But like a fragile cookie, Percival managed to break those things and laugh sarcastically at Luciel. “You know it’s useless to defeat me like this. It’s useless for a lowly demon to defeat a powerful angel. You’re aware of that, right?”
Panting because of the wound he got from the angel’s death-scythe, Luciel hugged Romina tight as he drew another sword in his hand. “f**k you.”
“Lu-Luciel...”
Luciel immediately turned his head to Romina who was now looking at him in utter shock and worry. He immediately cupped her face when he finally noticed that she was finally back to normal. “You’re finally back to normal.”
Percival frowned as he saw that he finally didn’t have any control over the human.
“That girl... I don’t know if Father did this by coincidence or he really did assign Luciel to watch over her. Seems like that human has a deeper connection with our realm, especially to Luciel. I could be wrong but the moment I saw her, I immediately felt how huge her soul is.”
She held his arm which made him wince in pain a little and as she saw a black liquid on her palm, she immediately cupped Luciel’s cheek. “Wha-What happened?! Why are you wounded?! Are you okay?!”
“Don’t worry about me, Romina,” Luciel held her hand and put it down. He turned his head to L who’s now clinging onto his shoulder. “L, transform into a Cerebus and guard Romina.”
L immediately transformed into a huge three-headed dog and shielded Romina from Percival who’s now smirking cockily at them. L was growling, totally angry at the angel in front of them.
“A-An angel... is after my soul?” Romina’s voice was filled with disbelief after seeing Percival.
“I won’t prolong the agony of that human,” Percival said. “I’ll defeat you and get that human with a powerful soul and my collection will definitely be complete and I will become a god!”
Luciel stood up to face Percival and wielded his sword. “It’s indeed disgusting to see an angel like you. Totally disgusting.”
“You’re all the talk, demon,” Percival smirked cockily at him once again. “You can’t even protect that human and let me control her.”
Angered by what he said, Luciel immediately attacked Percival and the two of them counter-attacked. Luciel managed to punch and kick Percival but the angel only gave him a huge blow and even wounded him once again. He got slammed on the ground with wounds on his cheek and right arm.
“Luciel!!!” Romina shouted and was about to run towards him but L stopped her.
“Don’t, Romina,” with his growling, low voice, L spoke. “You’ll make things harder for Luciel to fight. He had the capacity to defeat that angel by using his full potential and transforming as a full demon but he didn’t want to scare you so he chose not to. So please, Romina. Don’t come at him.”
Romina couldn’t help but tear up as she watched over Luciel struggling as he stood up.
“Give it up, Luciel. Hand over the human and stop wasting my time,” with a serious face and tone, Percival spoke.
Spitting his blood out, Luciel smirked at him. “I’m greedy, so expect me not to give my human to you and eat a f*****g shit.”
“Well then, you have chosen death,” Percival raised his death-scythe and was about to pierce it to Luciel but there’s a bright light that blocked him from Luciel and managed to throw him away.
He huffed as he managed to stand up after he was thrown away violently of that bright light and he loses his hold onto his death-scythe.
“I didn’t know you’ll really come this far, Percival...”
Gasping in silence, Percival looked at the figure that was slowly revealed by the bright light. “The archangel—”
Before he could even finish his sentence, a sword was pointed at him. “You really did come this far hurting one of the temporary guardians and tried to kill a human.”
Romina’s eyes widen as she saw the being that suddenly arrived in front of them. She gasped when she finally saw the face of the said angel. “Lu-Luciel... that, that angel looked exactly like Luciel.”
“That angel... is none other than Luciel’s twin brother, Sachiel the archangel.”
“Sachiel...” Luciel muttered while nursing his wound in his right arm.
The archangel’s blue eyes darted at him and he softly smiled. “I’m not that late, aren’t I, my brother?”
