RASH DECISION “What's going on?” She whispered, taking a deep breath. She knocked on the door and heard him say “goodbye.” Before coming to open the door. “Hey.” He said, hugging her as she forced the smile out. “You took a while before coming to open up, were you busy?” She asked and noticed him, froze for a while. “Have you been standing there all this while?” “I just got here, what? Were__” “It's nothing. I was in the bathroom when i heard you knock, so welcome to my home? Nah,” he said, and they both chuckled. “Why are you staying here? Don't you have a house?” She asked. “I don't have a house, I live with my family. It's more fun,” he replied. “So why are you here?” “I traveled here for the party, my family and I live in France.” “Wow, that's beautiful.” “I'm gonna order for us now, what would you like?” “Nothing, for us to talk things out and know where we stand with each other,” She replied grimly. She felt disturbed that he'd lied to her concerning what he was doing when she knocked. “Kathy? Kathy?” A wave of hands in front of her brought her back to her senses as she jerked back to reality. “I'm sorry i zoned out, I'm not usually like this except __” “You're thinking of something, right?” He asked and looked at her skeptically. “Tell me something about yourself,” he said, and she smiled at her. Her parents were brutally murdered but her uncles and aunt buried the case so as not to attract the killers to the children. According to a letter received, if they ever lay their hands on the Westwood children, it'd be the lady, the only girl in the house, hence her brothers decided to protect her. “Well, I'm an orphan. Iost my mom at two, my dad died two years later, so I grew up in an orphanage.” “You speak eloquently, more like a well-bred lady.” She smiled at that and looked into his eyes. “You flatter me.” “That's the truth Kathy, tell me more.” He urged. “I got the best education they could afford and got a job as a receptionist in a little organization.” “I must confess you amaze me, you're really brilliant and that's what i love in women.” “So you said you had a lot on your mind. What is it?” She asked and he stood on his feet. “There's a will, my grandfather's will, and neither of the grandchildren can access it except they're married.” “That's huge,” She said, and he nodded. “I've been in search of a true girl who's not after my money or looks. A girl who's ready to stand with me and succeed.” As she watched him, her heart grew warm with the love spreading. “So what's your plan?” She asked. “Will you be that girl? The girl I'll bring back home? I think I'm falling in love with you.” He said as her eyes grew wide. “Are you sure about what you're asking? We barely __” “We'll make it work baby, we'll do all we can to make it work and prove to my cousins that the companies will be in good hands.” “I'm going to help you, it seems your cousins are vultures who only want the benefits for themselves,” she said, and he nodded. “I'm glad you understand what I'm talking about, they want the benefits with little or no work, and it's never going to happen.” “So when are you returning home? Must be strange being away from home.” She asked and walked towards the window. “Aren't you going to miss home when you travel with me?” “Who will i miss? There's no one here to miss, just my job, which is always tiring.” “That's good, get ready. We'll be leaving in two days.” “Two days?” She asked almost with a scream as he looked at her. “Is that too sudden? My cousin's marriage is coming up by the weekend, and we need to be married before then.” “Agreed but on one condition,” She said as he looked at her. “We'll sign a prenuptial agreement, and we'll have no party for the wedding, just __” “Did I hear you say prenuptial?” He asked, clearly amused by her statement. “Yeah I did, what's wrong with it?” “It's clearly ridiculous, obviously.” He replied as she sighed. “Nevertheless, we're going to sign it.” “Fine, it'll do me really good,” he whispered. After leaving the hotel, she headed to the house with mixed feelings. How does she come up with an excuse to leave? What would she say? She kept on pondering until she got home. She didn't even have any friends, just her nanny, because her brothers were very skeptical about her association with people. They only let her free and lose when they're around and can watch her by themselves. As she walked into the house, she was surprised to meet her brothers sitting in the living room. They raised their heads to look at her while Kelvin smirked. Immediately she knew she was in trouble. “St.Lois hotel? Room 2433?” Kyle asked, looking into her eyes as he raised his brows. “Carlson Westwood?” Kelly said as she moved backwards. “Lives in France?” Kelvin completed as she fell to her feet. “How did y'all know all that? You aren't stalking me are you?” She asked, looking around, but her nanny just stood, not uttering a word. “Stalking you? You left without your guards, left without informing us you were going out.” “Oh my I'm doomed, I'm a grown lady, I shouldn't be treated like a baby!” “You know nothing about safety, Kathy, absolutely nothing. You went to see Carlson?” “I love him and if you try to do anything stupid, he'll do something you'll forever regret!” “Go to your bedroom, we're gonna talk later.” Kyle said as she ran up the stairs, anger surging through her veins. As she went up, Kyle sighed and looked at both brothers. “What should we do? She doesn't seem to understand.” “Keep an eye on her and make sure guards are always around her.” Kelly said as they watched her go upstairs.
