Chapter 5

After Hailey sat on the sofa, she faced the man who saved her from the hands of Alpha Cyron.

"Thank you so much for helping me-"

"You're welcome. But I was just passing by your house and happened to see what he did, so I immediately entered your house without permission to help you. I just don't like seeing women being hurt because women should be taken care of by men," Ashvan quickly replied to Hailey.

Although he felt an attraction to the very beautiful woman in front of him, he had no intention of prolonging their acquaintance. Even though he had a one-night stand with her, he couldn't make her one of his women because he didn't feel the bond mate with her. And besides, it seems she doesn't remember that she was the man she had a one-night stand that night.

"No matter what your reason for helping me, and even if it wasn't intentional, I still appreciate it." If Hailey hadn't come, she might have been in danger, so it's only right that she thanks him.

Ashvan just nodded at her, then left his house without saying goodbye and departed.

She just shook her head when she saw the man's arrogance. Brave and handsome as he may be, but he was somewhat rude. He didn't even bother to say goodbye to her before casually leaving her house. But she couldn't help but feel worried about that man. Alpha Cyron would surely not allow Ashvan to go unpunished for the beating he gave him.

She shook her head forcefully. Why should she worry about that person when she doesn't even know him? Besides, it seems like he can handle himself if Alpha Cyron decides to retaliate. And it seems he's also brave because he didn't even feel scared when he found out that an Alpha was in front of him.

After Ashvan left, Hailey bought a double lock. She needed to make sure that Alpha Cyron wouldn't be able to enter if he attempted to break in again.

For three days, she didn't leave her house, fearing that Alpha Cyron might be outside waiting for her to come out. She became paranoid due to Alpha Cyron's attempt to kill her life.

Once she was sure that her ex-wife was not around or near her house, she decided to go out and visit her close friend.

"I'm glad you came, Hailey. If you didn't visit me today, I would have gone to your house," her friend said immediately upon seeing her.

"Why? What's wrong?" she asked Darcy in wonder.

"Do you know the rumors spreading about you and Alpha Cyron? The gossip is that you two have already separated, and you want to file for divorce against him."

She quickly nodded her head at her friend. "Of course. But you know it's not just rumored, Darcy. It's true that I want to divorce him."

"I know. But that gossip could damage your reputation as the perfect Luna and Alpha Cyron's reputation as the perfect alpha. I wish I hadn't agreed with you when you said that you want to move out of your house and divorce your husband. That man will surely find a way to get you again because he won't allow his reputation to be tarnished, not just in our pack but also in other packs."

She chuckled at the expression she saw on Darcy's face. It seemed that her friend was more concerned about the potential damage to her reputation as the perfect Luna than he was.

"Now that Alpha Cyron and I were no longer a couple, I don't care about being the perfect Luna anymore, Darcy. If he wants, he can make his mistress the new Luna. Everyone knows Bianca because she is his beta, so I am confident that she will be accepted by our pack members."

"You know that's not an easy thing to do, Hailey. Replacing the perfect Luna is not a simple matter because it will not only damage the reputation of both you and Alpha Cyron but also tarnish the reputation of our pack. And the council members will surely not allow the name of our pack to be stained."

She took a deep breath after hearing what Darcy said. "I won't worry about what the councilors will say because it's not my fault that our pack's good name will be going to be tarnished, Darcy. What I should worry about is Alpha Cyron. Because I'm sure he won't stop bothering me especially if I confirm to everyone that the rumors are true. Because his alpha status will be put in jeopardy.'

'You're right about that, Hailey," Darcy agreed with what she said then suddenly furrowed her brow while looking at her neck where the marks of Alpha Cyron's hand choking her still haven't completely disappeared. 'What happened to your neck? I only noticed it now because all my attention was focused on your problem."

She cautiously felt her neck with her hand before she spoke. "Alpha Cyron tried to kill me, Darcy. Fortunately, someone helped me, so that man failed to kill me," she confessed to her friend. Darcy stood up wide-eyed upon hearing what she said.

"What? Alpha Cyron attempted to kill you? That man is truly shameless! He turns out to be a bad alpha. Now I don't care if your perfect Luna status is going to be ruined and our pack's name will be tarnished. You really need to divorce that alpha to teach him a lesson!'

"That's what I'll do, Darcy. But before I do that, I'll go home to my father's house because I'm sure the gossip about me and Alpha Cyron has reached him. I need to explain it to him," she replied to Darcy. She stood up and bid farewell to Darcy, indicating she was leaving. She will come and speak to her again only when she has time.

She left Darcy's house and went to her father's house. She was immediately surrounded by her three brothers, to inquire about the rumor that she and Alpha Cyron had separated. But before she could confirm it to them, her father quickly pulled her and took her to her room.

Even though she no longer lives in her father's house, no one sleeps in her room, so when she comes home, she still sleeps in her own room.

"Tell me the truth, HaileyAreIs thrumorses about you and Alpha Cyron being separated true? How did that happen? Can't you resolve the misunderstanding between the two of you?" As soon as they entered her room, her father Harry bombarded her with numerous questions.

Her father works directly for their Lycan King. Her father brings the Lycan King papers regarding the petition of the alphas who want to expand their territory. The Lycan King decides whether or not the petition will be approved because he is the leader of all the werewolf packs.

When the Lycan King says no, no one dares to disobey his will. Their Lycan King is brave, dangerous, and merciless, so almost all alphas fear him. Many may be angry with him, but they have no courage to defy and fight against their Lycan King. Besides, his army is large in numbers, they are all skilled and brave. So no one really dares to oppose the Lycan King because they still value their lives.

"All the rumors you've heard are true, Dad. I have separated from Alpha Cyron and I am asking him for a divorce. And no matter what he does, my mind cannot be changed because what happened to us was not just a simple misunderstanding," she replied to her father in a determined voice.

"And what is the serious reason why you want to break off from him, Hailey?"

She narrated to her father what she discovered about Alpha Cyron and his beta, Bianca. But she didn't mention to her father about Alpha Cyron's attempt to kill her. She knows her father well. If he finds out that she was physically hurt by Alpha Cyron, he will surely not let it pass and immediately confront her ex-husband.

"That's what happened, Dad. He hurt me too much, so no matter what happens, I will never reconcile with him," she said to her father after telling him everything except for his physical abuse towards her.

Here Father took a deep breath before speaking again. "I won't preempt your decision, Hailey. But think about your role as our pack's Luna. And be careful with Alpha Cyron because I'm sure he won't allow you to divorce him easily. You never know what he might do to you."

"I know that, Dad. Don't worry because I'll be careful," she quickly replied to her father.

If Alpha Cyron tried to hurt her again, she wondered if Ashvan would come to rescue her once more. She couldn't understand why that man suddenly crossed her mind, considering she had only seen him once. But she felt something different about him that she couldn't explain.
