Chapter 7

Hailey arrived at her house but the words of the old woman still lingered in her mind. She found her very mysterious. She asked other guests if they had seen an old woman matching the description she provided, but none of them recognized or even saw the woman she was referring to. If that old woman wasn't one of the birthday celebrant's guests, then what was she? A gatecrasher? But she didn't look poor, she came for the food, that's why she wouldn't gatecrash at the party. Moreover, that old woman knew her because she heard her mentioned her name. She couldn't think of any possible reasons why that old woman approached her and told her those mysterious words to her so she just forced herself to forget the old woman and force herself to sleep. Meanwhile, at Alpha Cyron's house, he encouraged Bianca to talk to Hailey so that his wife would not proceed with the divorce against him. "Just try to speak with her, Bianca. Beg her. Convince her in any way you can. People are talking about me. They are coming up with all sorts of reasons why Hailey wants to divorce me." Alpha Cyron was too anxious. If the rumors about him and Hailey persisted, he wouldn't be surprised if the council gathered and declared to replace him as the alpha of their pack. Even though he is the alpha of the Almond Pack and leads the entire pack, he still needs the support of the council. The council determines who will be the next alpha of their pack because the title of alpha is not based on hierarchy. Unlike the lycan king who has no council to consider, the current lycan king chooses who will succeed to his throne. His ultimate dream is to become the lycan king, commanding all werewolf packs. He wants to be the most powerful in the whole world. He doesn't know how he could replace the current Lycan king. He doesn't know his weakness or even his face, he also doesn't know what he looks like. Their lycan king always wears a scary mask every time he appears in public so aside from his close men, no one knows the lycan's face. Even Hailey's father still doesn't see the lycan king's face when he works directly at him. There were many rumors regarding the Lycan's face. Someone said that the lycan king's face is very scary just like how scary his mask is. But still, no one could prove that it was true. So how can he plan to replace the lycan king's position when he doesn't even know his enemy? That thought makes him more annoyed with his situation right now. "But how will I convince her when she's also angry with me? It's not just you he doesn't want to see, but me as well," Bianca replied to Alpha Cyron's request. "Do whatever you want! It's your fault that Hailey discovered about us and our child, so you should figure out how to prevent her from divorcing me!" Alpha Cyron exclaimed to Bianca. His face was red with anger because until now it was still being discussed throughout our pack. And as it continues to be discussed, his leadership as alpha of the Almond Pack is even more at risk. "Do not blame me for all of this, Alpha Cyron. None of this would have happened if you hadn't impregnated me. And my child just wants to know and be with his father, so I brought him here. He has the right to know and be with you because he was your only child!" Bianca couldn't help but raise her voice. She had humbled herself in front of Hailey several times for the sake of her child. But now that she managed to get Hailey out of Alpha Cyron's house, she would never want her to come back. Alpha Cyron didn't like what Bianca said, so he immediately approached her and tightly choked her by the neck. "Because of you and your child, my alpha status is at risk, so you better find a way because if not, I will kick both of you out of my house!" Alpha Cyron shouted at her. Then released and walked out of his house without saying goodbye. Bianca coughed as Alpha Cyron released her neck. After the man left, Ceris approached her, crying, and hugged her waist. "Why is Daddy angry, Mommy? Doesn't he like me? Doesn't he want us here in his house because his Luna was gone?" Ceris tearfully asked her. She gently removed Ceris' arms from around her waist and sat down on the couch to be at eye level with him. "No, Ceris. Don't think like that. Daddy loves you. He loves us. He just has some issues right now, that's why he's not in the mood." She lied to her child because she didn't want him to feel even sadder when he found out that they were being blamed by his father for the gradual ruin of his reputation. She clenched her fist. She would do everything to restore the old and nice treatment she received from Alpha Cyron. Since she couldn't change Hailey's decision to divorce Alpha Cyron she would just secure the latter's title as the alpha of their pack. She was sure Alpha Cyron would be pleased if she managed to make him remain the alpha of their pack. Because she believed that being an alpha was more important to the Alpha Cyron than being with Hailey. After feeding and putting Ceris to sleep, Bianca left the house. But she sternly instructed the maids to watch over her child, fearing that the child might suddenly leave the house when he woke up and found himself alone in their room. Bianca headed to a gambling den after leaving Alpha Cyron's house. The inside of the gambling den was smoky due to the people smoking everywhere. She ignored the smoke and scanned the crowd with her eyes. She looked for the face of a particular person. She smiled when she saw the person she was looking for. "Bob! I want to talk to you," she called out to the man who angrily left the group of gamblers. He's her half-brother. Bob is the son of her father from another woman from a different pack and was brought to their house when his mother died during childbirth. He's a gambler so he still hasn't achieved anything in life up 'to now. She thinks that it was good timing to speak to Bob because it seems like he's losing in gambling and running out of money based on his not-so-good facial expression. He was sure Bob wouldn't refuse whatever she asked him to do because his face looked like money. He is a money-hungry person. Even though Bob's face looked annoyed, he immediately smiled when he saw her. "Your visit seems important to me because you intentionally came to this place to talk to me instead of just waiting for me at my house." She quickly pulled Bob to a corner where no one could hear what she would say to him. "I'll pay you a large sum of money as long as you do what I ask of you," she said seriously to Bob, glancing around to ensure no one else was listening. "As long as the p*****t is good, I'll do whatever you ask of me," Bob replied with a grin. His eyes immediately became money-minded. When it comes to money, he's willing to do anything as long as he makes some cash. She looked around them again. And when she made sure that there was no one else near them, she leaned closer to Bob's ear and whispered to him what she wanted him to do. When Bob's smile widened after hearing what she said, she was sure that he would indeed do what she wanted. She took a deep breath secretly. There's no turning back now. Ceris and Alpha Cyron's future and the latter's leadership as their alpha were at stake, so Bob must not fail.
