Anaya's POV
It warmed my heart to see that Caspian didn't believe that I could kill my own Father when he visited me and he made sure that I got everything I needed. I honestly lived like a princess though I was imprisoned and the only difference was that I was locked up and denied movement. The room I was placed in was renovated the day he visited and made it look like a princess's room.
I wore beautiful dresses and had some maids occasionally attend to me, I was comfortable but also worried knowing that Olivia hated me but Caspian had assured me that he'd talk sense into her. He sent me a letter saying he had found the killer and it was only a matter of time before I'd be released and we'd be together, Olivia also sent her regards.
Life was great, I still mourned my Father but was rest assured his killer would be brought to justice. Days turned into weeks and time slowly and painfully flew by but my hope of being vindicated kept me going until one evening when I was taking a nap I overheard my maids gossiping about the Alpha finding out who killed my Father and was also preparing a mating ceremony the next day.
I was overjoyed that I'd be with my mate but the following day nothing happened, the maids didn't come to wait on me neither did the guards say a word to me. I felt something was off and I knew I needed to see Caspian so I faked a breathing disorder and lured the guard into my cell only to knock him out and sneak out. I arrived at the Mansion only to discover that you needed an invitation to go in.
Peeping into someone else's invitation I saw Caspian's name and the name of the last person I'd ever imagine to be the celebrants of the day. I charged in, held Olivia hostage and took the opportunity to run away after confirming my doubts, I was heartbroken and felt betrayed but I knew I needed to live to avenge my father. Thinking that no one was after me, I slowed my pace after I had successfully left the pack and yelped when a force yanked me against a tree.
I swiftly took my stance, ready to fight whoever it was and was shocked to see that it was my Sister.
"Olivia?" I said, shocked.
"Going somewhere, sister?" She smirked.
I charged at her and had her pinned to the ground in no time since I was stronger than she was.
"How dare you try to get away after killing Father?" She accused.
"I didn't kill him!" I yelled.
I was heartbroken seeing that she didn't believe me but also hurt knowing what she had done, I raised my hand and was about to deliver a blow to her face when a stronger force hit me. I tumbled, spat out a mouthful of blood and looked up to see Caspian.
"Caspian." I hissed.
"Why do you have to make things harder Anaya?" He asked sarcastically.
I charged at him and he easily dodged and kicked me in the groin. I crouched and winced in pain while Olivia came over and kicked me repeatedly.
"Give up now Anaya." He pleaded.
I spat on his face.
"You frame me of killing my father and go ahead to marry my sister?" I said bitterly.
Olivia chuckled and then began to laugh. Caspian drew her closer and kissed her deeply as if his life depended on it, slid a hand into her dress and fondled her breasts and she moaned, I spat out curses.
"You know Anaya, I always hated you for having everything I wanted, I was in love with Caspian first and he loved me too but you had to be his mate so we made a way to get rid of you, Father got to know about it and wanted to warn you so I made him kill himself else I'd kill you," Olivia confessed.
"Now you're going to die as he did, poor Anaya, she jumped off the cliff of guilt of killing her father." Caspian mocked.
I couldn't believe my ears, before I could react, I was suspended in the air. Caspian had picked my body, Olivia stabbed me in the chest with the dagger Father used to kill himself while Caspian carried me like a log of wood and dumped me off a cliff ignoring my sobs, cries and pleas. I closed my eyes to embrace the darkness that hovered above me and their laughter resounded in my ears.
************************************
My eyelids fluttered as I opened my eyes and shut them almost immediately.
"Are you awake?" A masculine voice asked.
I groaned and opened my eyes, I scanned my surroundings and saw that I was in a forest, lying by the riverside.
"What happened?" I asked curiously.
"Am I dead?" I added.
I heard a chuckle.
"No, you're not, you're still very much alive pretty lady."
I tried to air up but it was painful so I let out a wince.
"Don't force yourself, you're not strong yet."
I turned to see the most handsome man I'd ever set my eyes upon a few meters away from me, he was roasting a rabbit and looked heavenly while doing it. I stared at him with my mouth wide open, he was more beautiful than a woman but looked older than my age range.
"Are you done staring?" He teased.
I closed my mouth and chuckled nervously.
"How long have I been unconscious? How did you find me? Who are you?" I asked impatiently as I remembered my past.
He laughed.
"I was on my own three nights ago, taking a bath when all of a sudden, something huge crashed on me." He narrated.
"Was that me?" I asked, embarrassed.
He nodded.
"Thank you for saving my life," I said quietly.
"Whoever did that to you wanted you dead. You have a strong will else you'd be dead, what happened?" He asked calmly.
My expression turned sour remembering the incident.
"There's no rush, you don't need to tell me about it if it's not comfortable." He said politely.
I smiled weakly.
"Thank you."
"If there's anything you need from me, I'll be willing to offer." He offered.
"Marry me," I said without thinking.
He chuckled and offered me some food, he didn't press any further or ask me questions rather he talked about the wonders of nature and excused me to take a bath. He disappeared for about an hour and reappeared with a carriage.
"Get in, let's go." He said.
I look at him suspiciously.
"You don't have anywhere to go, do you? It's pretty dangerous out here." He added.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"My nephew is having his coronation ceremony tomorrow, we have to get you new dresses on the way and of course marry you."
