Chapter 9

Otsana Her questions rang in my head over and over again. I didn't know what else to do about the whole thing. My heart was heavy, but the fact remained that I was tired. “We just have to make sure we don't get caught. I don't care about the circumstances. I want to leave. I know we might get caught, and that's why I want to go alone.” She widened her eyes, staring at me with a shock expression on her face. “Are you kidding me? You can't be serious. You aren't going alone, and that's–” I immediately cut her off. I didn't care what she had in mind, but I was ready to do this. I was sure she was ready to come with me, but I wasn't ready to allow that to happen. “Listen to me you have to stay here. If I get caught, I want to be the one to get the punishment.” Miradeth was still very sad about the issue. She had always been with me, and now, i didn't want her to come along no matter what. “Please… what if the Alpha asks? You know how terrible I am at lying, could you please not make me do this. Save me the stress by letting me come with you, please,” she begged with tears in her eyes. However, I didn't want to make that mistake. I didn't care about how much she would cry, but I knew the Alpha king would spare her. She wasn't the one who he really wanted to get rid of, it was me who he wants. “I'm sorry. I have to do it alone. I'm going to leave, and I don't intend telling you when.” Miradeth's sad expression was enough to break me, but I didn't want it to touch my already hardened heart. “You should be happy for me. Don't you get it? I don't belong here. I am hated, seen as whatever, a maid, a servant by the man who is supposed to be my mate.” Miradeth moved closer to me. She rubbed my back gently, and she smiled despite the pain she was feeling. “I want to trust you, I know you'll be fine, but can you promise me you'll be careful?” Her eyes were fixed on me, eyes showing pity. “Yes I'll be fine. I promise to take care of myself as well. All I need from you is just to make sure no one is aware of what I just told you, is that okay?” She nodded, and then hugged me tight. She was like a sister I never had, and I hoped we would meet again someday. The night drew close, and I decided to rest since I was tired from all the emotional stress I was felt. “I really need to get some rest,” I replied, and the next thing I knew my eyes closed shut. I didn't even realize the time they did. Shivers passed down my spine, and I found myself in somewhere dark. It looked like the pack house, but way more scarier than it was supposed to be. I could hear all the voices I didn't want to hear, and my heart thumped in my chest as well. “What's going on, why's everywhere so dark?” I questioned inwardly, dragging my feet as I moved round the place. One of the voices was that of my mates, yelling at me in a cold dark place.“You think you can escape from me?” He asked, and even when I didn't see anyone, I felt like i was being watched. The lump in my throat refused to be swallow. I didn't even know what to do. I was hoping things would get better, or maybe I could just run away, but it was too dark to see anything. “Please… please don't hurt me, don't hurt me please…” I begged, and it was then I saw the alpha. He walked out of the looming darkness, his eyes glaring at me with hate. I didn't know what his next move was going to be. “Are you trying to escape?” He asked, moving forward, and with each step he took, I inched backwards. I was scared that he would hurt me. I didn't want to be hurt. “I–i wasn't…” I stammered. A low growl escaped his lips, and he charged towards me, grabbing me by the hands. “Ahhh!” But before I could react, he pressed me against him tightly. “You are going to be with me for the rest of your life!!!” He yelled, making me shiver in his hold. His hard chest was pressed against my back, and his arms wrapped tightly around my neck. “You are mine, and you should know that. However, you won't go without being punished,” he explained, and the next thing I knew, he pulled me towards a place where he tied me up. I was shaking because I knew what would happen next. The whip he brought out was so huge I started to cry before he even raised his hands up. “Otsana!” I heard my name being called which caused me to jolt out of the nightmare I was having. It was Miradeth. She stood there with worry on her face while I tried to catch my breath with my chest moving faster than usual. “What happend? I saw you crying, and rolling on the bed.” I still couldn't speak. I kept staring at the wall, until it seemed like I zoned out. “Are you sure you're fine, you're acting really weird. Tell me what happened. Why were you crying. Are you in any form of pain?” I shook my head, finally making a movement to calm her down. She was really worried about me, I could tell because she was trying to find out what was wrong “A nightmare. I had one,and I don't feel the same way.” She sighed, feeling a bit relax. “What did you have a nightmare about, your dad?” She asked, but I shook my head. “It doesn't matter. I'm still planning to leave here.”
