Keira
Jaime and I went into the ladies' room, luckily no one else was in there with us, and pulled a brush out of my backpack to get the wads of paper out of my long, thick, wavy brown hair. “Did I get them all?” I ask Jaime.
“Yeah, it looks good.” She sighs and then says, “Why don’t you let me give you a makeover?”
Jaime is a cute girl, she is tall and lanky. Just what the guys like. We actually are complete opposites of each other. She's skinny, I’m fat. She is outgoing, and I’m shy. She doesn’t care what people think, I do.
We became friends when we both happened to be at the movies when we were around 10 years old. I remember the day clearly because that was the day I realized Kevin was no longer my best friend.
I was upset over it, and Jaime took me under her wings at that movie theater. We have been good friends since.
“Jamie asked, what can I do? Put makeup on you? You know my clothes don’t fit me, I can’t afford to get new clothes that will fit . How can you give me a makeover?”
“Keira, I love you, and you are great. I hate how these boys treat you. You don’t deserve this. But I’m going, to be honest, you do need a makeover. You need to own yourself and look good in clothes that actually fit your body and show it off. It will help boost your confidence.”
“How will clothes boost my confidence? Like I said, have you seen plus-size clothing? Most of the time, it’s hopeless for someone like me.” I told her.
“Someone like you, you have the wrong idea about your body. Are you bigger than me? Yes, but you don’t have to hide your body. One of these days, I’m going to show you that you have a great body and don’t need to hide in layers.” Jaime told her.
“Let’s talk later about this, we need to get to class,” I said, grabbing my bookbag.
“Alright, let’s go.” She sighed.
That’s the thing with Jaime, she has the, “I don’t care attitude,” but she is also someone who looks for the positive in situations. In her mind, a makeover would solve my confidence issues, so she isn't willing to give it up.
We get to class, just before the final bell rings. I quickly sat in my seat, and just prayed neither Adam nor any of his friends would bother me during class. My brother isn’t in this class to bother me, thank God!
The teacher turns her back to write on the board and I feel something hit the side of my head. It was a pink eraser. I pick up the eraser and turn to Adam’s desk and put it on his desk. As I do this he grabs my hand and passes me a note.
This is strange, I just put the note in my pocket, and I will look at it later. I’m sure it is full of hateful things.
As the bell rings and I am off to the next class, before I can actually leave the room Adam asks me if I read the note?
“No, I didn’t. I want to be left alone, Adam.” He looks at me and laughs and says “Fine, see you after school then.” He left the room. What was that? I go to my locker to switch out my books, but curiosity was running through me, and I pulled Adam’s note out of my pocket.
Need to talk to you, but in secret, no one can know.
What does that mean? Probably some prank because he figured out I used to have a crush on him when I was 10 or something else, knowing him. I shake my head, I put the note back in my pocket, and off to my next class.

Adam
I hate this class! This English teacher I think hates me. Every paper I turn in, she criticizes. The problem is I need to get a passing grade on my next paper or I will be benched from playing on the soccer team.
That’s a problem because I’m the captain, plus I got a scholarship almost wrapped up for soccer. So I have to do well on this paper.
Keira and Jaime came running into class just before the bell. Looks like Keira figured out that Colt added some accessories to her hair.
Keira always got good grades on her English papers. I can get her to help me. Plus I can get her to keep quiet so no one knows that I suck in this class.
I grab a piece of paper and write out a note telling her I need to talk to her. I got to get her attention though to give it to her.
I spot my eraser, So I just have to flick it over to her without the teacher seeing me. I just have to wait for the right moment.
The teacher goes over to the whiteboard to write something on it, this is a perfect time. I flung the pink eraser and hit Keira right upside the head.
She picks it up and tries to put it on my desk. I grab her hand to give her the note. Mission accomplished.
The class continues. This teacher really is boring. Finally, the bell rings, right before Keira goes to leave. I want to see if she read the note.
“Hey, did you read what I gave you?” I asked her.
“No, I didn’t. I want to be left alone, Adam.”
Me leave her alone! Little girl, do you not know your brother is my best friend, I will probably be in her life for the rest of her life for just that reason alone.
I’m going to be over at her house with Kevin tonight anyway, so I will just see her then.
“Fine, I will see you after school then.” I turned and went out the door to my next class.
