ACHILLE
I was on top of the world. Being able to tell an old friend about Amia! I was sure he would help too - after he got over the shock. How could he not, being who he was. I had never seen him take offense or objection to anyone's life choices, especially where love was concerned. He would help, I was sure of it. With him on my side, I could finally be a worry free man - free to be in love and be loved.
After Demitri and Jesse left, Amia turned to me.
"Who is the girl they have gone to see, and what is the importance of her?" She asked me.
"Her name is Eternal and she is one of the volunteers. She ended up going through the change while here, and it has been most important to our research," I told her excitedly. Jesse and I had kept Amia up to date in the beginning, but we had been looking for an answer for such a long time. At some point along the way we decided it would be better to wait until we had a proper answer, rather than keep filling her with false hope, and then crushing her sweet dreams.
"Poor girl! How does Demitri know her?" She was so full of compassion for everyone, it was one of the first things I noticed about her.
"I, erm, forgot to ask."
"Very helpful" she commented, obviously annoyed. "I'll go see myself if you don't mind", and with that she walked out of the room, shutting the door behind her a little harder than necessary.
I sighed. This was taking its toll on all of us. I was hoping to find an answer soon. There had to be a way to keep Amia with me forever.
I had never felt like this, Jesse often called me a 'love sick puppy', but I did not care. She brought out a side of me I never knew existed. There would be no point living without her now. If we were unsuccessful, then I would walk out into the sun and leave this world with her.
