Rachel’s P.O.V
Over the week my sisters, Polly and Nicole, trained and worked with Liv to build up her strength and she was getting a lot better at blocking and hitting the punching bag. We all quickly realised that she knew a lot more than we first thought we did, but now we had our cousin Allison training with us as well and she knew nothing of what Liv had been through. Actually none of them truly knew what she had been through because they hadn’t seen it like I had and I was worried that they would push her too far too soon, so I decided to tell them, while Liv was training with Aquilla.
“Listen, Liv has been through a hell of a lot, more than you know and she has survived, but I think we should still be careful with her.” I said, but all three of them gave me funny looks.
“What are you talking about? What has she been through? If we don’t get her stronger then her first shift could kill her.” Allison asked, making me sigh. I looked at my sisters and they both nodded, knowing that I needed to tell her.
“Before Liv came here she was with a pack and the Alpha of that pack was abusive. He raped her, tortured and beat her to within an inch of her life, he starved her almost to death, so we need to be careful with her.” I replied, but then I felt my shoulder being tapped and I turned around to see Liv standing behind me. s**t, had she heard everything I said?
“I’m sorry, Liv. I didn’t mean to upset you.” I said, but Liv shook her head at me and smiled.
“Rachel, I’m fine, honest. Yes, I went through all of that, but everything that happened to me is in the past now. Yes, it still haunts me to this day, but I can’t be scared of that.” Liv said and I nodded. I could hear her thoughts and I knew that Liv was trying to be strong on the outside, but on the inside she was still scared of what might happen. I could hear how she was still nervous about Adonis changing his mind about her because she thinks she is weak, but she’s not. In all honesty Liv is very strong, especially after surviving everything that she has been through and I can tell her dragon is as well, but I just didn’t want anything in training to cause her flashbacks or anything like that. I have tried talking to Liv about this, but she won’t listen to me, so she will just have to find out for herself. Just as we were done with our training for the day Cali came storming outside towards us and she looked like she was on some sort of mission. The look on her face was one of pure determination and it made my sisters and I roll our eyes at her.
“I wonder what the hell she wants?” Allison whispered to me and I shrugged, unable to hear her thoughts. Aquilla, who had been watching over Liv, stood up and walked over to us.
“Girls, watch out, there's a hurricane coming.” Aquilla said, making us all smirk, except Liv, who didn’t know what was going on. Cali stopped in front of us with her arms crossed over her chest as she began tapping her foot on the ground, like she was losing patience over something.
“So you’re the one who stole my crown.” Cali said, pointing at Liv, but Liv just looked at her like she was crazy.
“Excuse you? I didn’t steal a damn thing from you, so what the hell are you talking about?” Liv asked, confused, but then Cali got right in Liv’s face. I wanted to stop this because I knew it was a bad idea, but I didn’t because Liv had to do this, she had to be the one to deal with this b***h.
“You stole my crown from me. I was supposed to be queen, not you, but then you came along and bewitched him into making him think that you are his true mate.” Cali replied, pointing her finger into Liv’s chest, but all Liv did was roll her eyes.
“Listen, I don’t know who you are and in all honesty I don’t care, but I don’t know how to bewitch anyone and if you don’t take that finger away from my f*****g chest I’m going to break it.” Liv said and Cali slowly moved her finger away from Liv, but stayed in her face.
“My name is Cali and I demand that you step down as queen and give me my rightful crown.” Cali replied, but Liv started laughing at her. It was really funny to see Cali having her little temper tantrum and asking the rightful queen to step down, especially when everyone knew that Cali was nothing more than a spoiled brat who liked to sleep around.
“Cali, I think it's a bit too late for that.” Liv replied as she pulled down the front of her shirt a little, revealing the mark of the king upon the top of her breast.
“You see, I have dealt with b***h’s like you for almost my whole life and I don’t like it. Do you seriously think that I am going to let you get in my face and demand things from me?” Liv said and I don’t think she realised that her Luna and queen aura was pushing through. I could hear as her dragon started to get pissed off, but Liv couldn’t hear her just yet.
Liv’s P.O.V
I don’t know what came over me, but I felt myself get pissed off and then I lifted my hands up and pushed Cali so hard that she went flying across the yard. I admit it felt good to get her away from me and show her that I wasn’t weak, but then Cali got up and brushed herself off, all the time keeping eye contact with me. She rushed towards me and balled up her fist, trying to hit me, but I backed up before it connected. How dare this b***h, she gets in my face, demands my mate and my crown, then has the nerve to try to f*****g hit me because I won’t f*****g do it! Who the f**k does she think she is?! I thought and I felt myself getting more and more pissed off. I balled up my fists at my sides and just when Cali got close enough I brought my hand back and punched her right between the eyes, knocking her out completely. I watched as Cali fell flat on her face, but as quickly as my rage came, it also left me and all I could do was gasp at the scene in front of me. s**t, I am going to be in so much trouble now, I thought as I ran back into the castle. I made it to the bedroom and I knew I was in deep trouble for hitting Cali like that, so I ran into the closet, hoping that no one would find me. I knew that Adonis would go straight to the secret room to look for me, so I went to the closet, to my own secret room that I found by accident. I was in the closet one day getting dressed when I noticed that it went on towards another room and I wasn’t sure if anyone knew about this room as it was hidden away, so I claimed it as my secret room. There was no lock on the door and the room was cluttered with old furniture, so I found an old desk and hid underneath it. I didn’t know how long I had been hiding for, but I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew a pair of strong arms were gently wrapping around me and lifting me up. I jumped when I realised I was being carried back towards the bedroom.
“Please don’t punish me, I didn’t mean to hurt her but she just kept going and I don’t know what came over me.” I whimpered, but all Adonis did was sigh.
“Liv, I’m not going to hurt you. You had every right to do what you did, she provoked you and you are her queen. How could you be in trouble for that?” Adonis asked as he walked us back through the door and into the bedroom.
Adonis’s P.O.V
I sat her down on the edge of the bed and then kneeled down in front of her, taking her hands in mine. I was so frustrated with all of this. I know she has only been here for a week and half, but it's time to get over her fears of me. She needs to be strong and stand up for herself or she will just fade into darkness. I needed her dragon to break through and the only thing I could think of to get that to happen was to be harsh with her. I didn’t want to be and I knew I was going to have to lie, but I didn’t want to. Hell, who am I kidding, I could never bring myself to lie to her. All I wanted was for her to stand up for herself and to stop being so damn scared when she did stand up for herself. This was it, I had to tell her.
“Liv Morgan, you are going to listen to me right now. You need to leave the past behind you, stop being so f*****g scared and stand up for yourself for crying out loud. We are not your old packs and I am not like either of your old Alpha’s. I am your mate, so why the hell would I hurt you?” I said, using my harshest tone. I carried on for a few minutes, but I kept eye contact with Liv, making sure that she was still okay and to see if her dragon was close to the surface.
“She’s close, she’s very close. Keep going, but don’t be mean to mate.” Indigon said to me, making me roll my eyes at him.
“I’m not doing this because I enjoy it, I’m doing this to make our mate stronger and bring her dragon forward. I have to be a little mean to get it done, you know this, but you also know I don’t mean it.” I replied and then focused back on Liv. I carried on talking to her and trying to get through to her, but just as I thought I did Liv started rubbing her temples. This was it, this was what I wanted, she was getting a headache and her dragon is breaking through.
