Chapter 18 finally shifting

Liv’s P.O.V

Adonis was right, he was completely and utterly right. I needed to stand up for myself and not live in the past thinking that everytime I did something I was going to get punished. This was what I needed, an Alpha’s support and encouragement. I started getting a headache at the back of my head, but I carried on listening to Adonis, then it went to the front of my head and my temples. I sat there for as long as I could, trying to focus on what Adonis was saying, but then the pain became too much for me.

“AHHHHH!!!!” I screamed out and looked at Adonis for help, but all he did was smile knowingly at me. What the f**k? A few minutes later the pain in my head subsided and my tears dried up a little, then I felt a little weird.

“Hello, my beautiful human, I am your dragon. My name is Edan. I am so so sorry that I’m late and that I wasn’t there when you needed me, but I’m here now and together we will take revenge on all who have hurt you. Of course we will do it all by the side of our mate. We must grow stronger if we are to survive our first shift, but once we do we will be stronger together, now clean those tears up. I will not have you crying over her, that b***h deserved what you did to her, never be scared to defend yourself.” A woman said in my head and I was shocked. I had no idea what to say, do or even think, so I looked back up at Adonis, who was still smiling. Did he know what was going on? Did this happen to him? His smile got wider and I saw his lips moving like he was talking, but all I could hear was Edan’s voice and it was giving me a headache. She kept talking non stop and telling me about Adonis’s dragon, Indigo and how he had been trying to help her break through, how handsome he is and that Adonis wanted to mate with me as soon as possible to officially make me queen. I rolled my eyes at her and Adonis saw it.

“Are you talking to her right now?” Adonis asked and I started laughing.

“You could say that, but she’s doing all the talking. Her name is Edan and I guess she has a lot to say after being locked behind a wall or whatever all this time.” I said as Edan carried on talking. Adonis smiled at me and nodded, like he knew exactly what was happening and I guess he did because he had already been through it.

“Yes, they will do that, but they will also want revenge on any person that has ever hurt you. I’m sure that she has already spoken of that.” Adonis said, chuckling.

“You bet your fine chiselled ass I want revenge.” Edan said in my mind and I couldn’t help laughing hard as I told Adonis what she had just said. Adonis started laughing as well, but then Edan suddenly turned serious.

“Liv, we will be shifting in a few days. You have grown stronger and wiser, so I believe you will be able to endure the pain, but don’t worry because once we are above the clouds soaring in the sky you will love how it feels. You must tell our mate so that he will be there for and with you, that's when you will truly feel the mate bond. So you only have a few days to train, three at most. I’ll try and hold off as long as I can, maybe until the end of the week, but if I can’t we will shift and you both need to be prepared for that.” Edan said and suddenly I felt my eyes go wide and the colour drain from my face. Oh my Goddess, I’m going to be sick.

“Liv, are you alright? What is it? What has your dragon told you?” Adonis asked, coming straight to me.

“She said that we will be shifting soon and that she will try to wait until the end of the week, but if she can’t then we will have three days at most. I can’t wait, I’m really nervous, but I’m also excited. For almost all of my life I honestly thought that I was just a human. They told me I was hatched out of an egg, but no one would tell me who or what I was, so I just went along with being a human. I wonder what happened to my real mother and father? Why did they leave me with a wolf pack?” I said, saying the last part more to myself.

“Liv, they must have had their reasons, something must have happened to them, but don’t worry, I’m here now. We will keep you safe, but you need to understand that now is the time to be strong and keep your head up. The next time that b***h gets in your face, I want you to punch her right in the nose and then kick her, that way she will go flying back on her ass.” Edan said and in the end I had to block her out because she kept talking and I couldn’t get a word in. I looked up at Adonis and all I saw in his eyes was love, but what shocked me was that the love I saw was for me. I stood up on my feet and looked right into his eyes, then took a deep breath as I saw how confused he was.

“I, Liv Morgan, accept you, Adonis the dragon king, as my king and as my mate for life. I’m giving you a chance, but if you screw up then I’m going to chop your balls off.” I said, and he smiled from ear to ear.

“I, Adonis the king of the dragons, accept you, Liv Morgan, as my mate for life, my Luna and my Queen.” Adonis said and then pulled me into his embrace, kissing me passionately. For the first time in years I felt like I could trust someone and I was over the moon that it was my mate, but now I wanted him and I wanted him badly. I ripped his shirt off and stepped back, looking at him. His chest and abs were sweaty and glistening, which made me want him even more, so I got as close to him as I could and then leaned into his ear.

“Adonis, I want and need you right now.” I whispered and that was all it took for him to jump into action. I was still a little shy about my body, even though all the scars and bruises were gone, but the way that Adonis looked at me made me feel beautiful and sexy. He made me feel wanted and loved.

Adonis’s P.O.V

I grabbed her waist and picked her up, then turned us around and laid her down on the bed. I slowly pulled her shorts off and got between her legs, then reached forward and pulled her shirt over my head, but before I could get to her bra she had already unhooked it. I took it from her and tossed it over on the chair, then I turned back to look at her. I have been wanting to do this since the day she came into my home, but right now all I could do was look at the beauty of my mate, she was incredible and not just because of her body and looks, which were the best, but because of her will and her strength. I ran my hands up and down the curves of her body, which she had developed now that she was eating right, then I leaned forward and took her breast into my mouth, sucking on the n****e. She moaned as I bit down, marking her once again and then her back arched up into me. Her fingers raked through my hair, then down to my back and she dug her nails into my flesh, letting me know this was pleasurable for her. I licked and kissed down her stomach to between her legs and then latched onto her clit, sucking on it until she screamed out my name. I loved hearing my name fall from her lips, but to hear it being screamed by her was perfection and such a turn on.

“Are you sure about this?” I asked, getting between her legs and she nodded, pulling me towards her.

Liv’s P.O.V

I felt him against my thigh and he was as hard as a rock, but I could also tell that he was thick. He took his time and slowly entered me, but the whole time he was looking at my face and into my eyes, making sure that I was alright. My back arched and I moaned softly, but then Adonis stopped.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, confused. He knew I wasn’t a virgin anymore, that had been taken from me a long time ago, so why was he stopping?

“I want this to be magical, not painful, so I want you to adjust to my size before I continue.” Adonis replied and I could tell that he was really holding back. I leaned in and gently kissed his lips.

“Thank you.” I said, feeling blessed. I nodded for him to continue and he began moving slowly in and out of me.

Adonis’s P.O.V

I picked up the pace and started going harder and faster, making her scream out my name again. I couldn’t help it, I loved her and I loved being inside of her too. I knew that once she shifted she would be able to mark me as well and I couldn’t wait for her to claim me as hers, but the thought of that only made me go faster and deeper. When we both came together I fell on top of her, as we both tried to catch our breath. I looked into her eyes and she smirked at me.

“Round two?” She asked and I was quickly up and going at it once again. We went at it for a couple of hours, but I didn’t want to tire her out, especially as she would need her strength for shifting, so after the fourth time I carried her into the bathroom and we took a shower together. We washed each other, then dried each other off and when we were done I carried her back into the bedroom and laid her on the bed, pulling the covers over her and then got in beside her. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her against me, but then she turned and snuggled herself into me, making me smile. This was my happy place, this was my home, right here with my mate in my arms.
