Liv’s P.O.V

The next day I was so happy to wake up still in Adonis’s arms and although I felt loved and safe, I also knew that I couldn’t stay here for the rest of my life, even though I am sure Adonis wouldn’t mind one bit. I was due to shift soon and we both knew that I wasn’t ready, not physically and not mentally. I needed to get better, to get stronger, but I was a little nervous about seeing the girls again after how I ran away yesterday. Adonis’s words ran through my head once more and I knew that I had to be strong, so I got dressed and went outside to train with the girls. As I walked over to them I held my head high, repeating what Adonis had said to me yesterday over and over in my head.

“I’m glad you decided to come back out for training. You are the queen and no queen should run after she did what was right, but I understand why you did.” Allison said, confusing me.

“Thank you, but what do you mean you understand?” I asked, looking at her and the others.

“After you left I accidentally saw inside your mind and felt what you were feeling. I explained to the others that you thought you were going to be punished because that was what happened before when you defended yourself. I’m sorry you had to go through that.” Rachel replied, rubbing my arm.

“No, it's okay. It's in the past and Adonis is right, I have to stop thinking of this place and the people here are the same as my old packs and Alpha’s. I know you’re not, it's just going to take me a while to get out of that mind set, but I’m trying.” I said and they all nodded.

“That’s the spirit, now come one, let's get started with eighty laps.” Allison said, making me laugh when she rubbed her hands together. We all ran the eighty laps and when we had finished them we did squats, push ups, sit ups and leg lifts, before moving onto hand to hand combat. I was getting better with each passing day and each day we trained we always finished it up with hand to hand combat, but each time I would face someone different in our little group. The others were ahead of me with their training, but we were still learning different ways to kick, punch, flip and other things. I could actually see the muscles in my legs and arms, plus I had gained some weight now, so my stomach actually had abs which would make any woman jealous. Training went by fast for the next couple of days and my first shift had been talked about left, right and centre, so for one day only I asked that we not discuss it. It was now Saturday night everyone was eating dinner and it had been a nice peaceful day with no talk of shifting, just like I had asked. I was having a really nice time, just laughing, joking and eating with everyone, but then I started to feel uneasy. One minute I felt like I was burning up, like someone had set fire to me and the next I felt freezing cold, like a bucket of ice cold water had been poured on me. My bones were really badly aching, but I just put it down to all the work-outs I had been doing, especially today as we decided to do a five hour training session instead of the usual two hour one, so I naturally thought it was just from that. I sat there listening to everyone as they carried on laughing and talking, but the whole time I felt Adonis’s eyes on me, but I felt so bad that I didn’t care.

Adonis’s P.O.V

Liv had been full of chatter all night, which was incredible to hear and see, but then she stopped. She wasn’t saying anything and hadn’t said anything for a while, so I looked over at her and saw that she was sweating, but then she started shivering and her eyes were glazing over. I looked over at my sisters and parents, who all looked at Liv, but it was like she didn’t see them or me looking at her. I gently shook her and she came out of her trance, but she still seemed off.

“I don’t feel too hot.” Liv said, but then I heard my dragon's voice in my head.

“Edan said we have to get Liv outside now.” Indigon said, just as I heard the first crunch of her bones. I hurried to pick her up, but as I did Liv screamed out in pain and I knew that it was going to be a close call to make it outside before she shifted. I ran as fast as I could and managed to get her outside the castle, but just as I set her down on the ground, she dropped to her knees. She kept looking off into the distance, like focusing on something, anything else would help to subdue the pain a little, but once the shift started there was no subduing the pain until it was finished.

“ARGHHHHHHH!!!!” Liv screamed out and it was the most horrible scream I had ever heard. I never wanted to hear my mate in pain again, but I couldn’t protect her from this pain, it was something she had to go through on her own. All I could do was be here for her and send comforting and healing waves through our bond.

Liv’s P.O.V

I felt as my bones started to crunch, break and shift, but each time they did they grew and I felt like they were going to rip right through my skin. I could feel what Adonis was trying to do and it was helping me a little by taking the edge off, but that was about it. I knew this was something I had to do and although I was used to pain this was different, this wasn’t torture, this was like I was being reborn. My legs snapped and then bent in the most awkward position ever, but then talons and claws formed on my hands and feet. My skull felt like it was about to explode with how it was growing and stretching my skin.

Adonis’s P.O.V

I watched as she tried to draw in breath, but she was struggling with how fast she was growing. She was getting bigger and bigger, almost bulging out until she was almost as tall as the castle, but not quite as tall as I was in dragon form. Blue and dark scales started sprouting out of her skin and then huge horns grew on her head. She lifted her head slightly and my heart ached to see her in this much pain, but when I looked at her eyes I saw that they had purple around the outside and there was like a blue shade of light. Her hands had fully transformed and were now very sharp and deadly talons, her wings spread out and it almost took the top of the castle off. Her wings were a light blue that sparkled like diamonds and rubies in the moonlight. I shredded through my clothes as I shifted and flew up into the sky, looking at Liv and hoping that she would copy what I did and join me. I watched as she flapped her wings, copying me and then flew up into the sky to meet me. We flew together like we were dancing across the sky and we were up here for hours, bonding as mates. We circled each other and it amazed me how graceful she was when she was flying, like she had been doing it her entire life. Liv was born to be in the sky with me and I couldn’t be any happier about that. Liv blew out a green, blue and purple flame, which I then quickly blew ice onto it so that the fire wouldn’t burn the trees or castles underneath us. When we finally came down I shifted back and then looked at Liv, who looked a little unsure, but then she began shifting back into her human form. Nicole and Polly ran towards us, handing me a pair of shorts and Liv a pair of shorts and a shirt.

“Oh my Goddess, Liv. your dragon is beautiful.” Everyone said all at once and Liv blushed a beautiful shade of red.

“Thank you.” Liv replied, smiling. I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her close to me.

“First of all, I told you so. Secondly, you did wonderful, baby.” I said, making her laugh as she nuzzled closer to me.

Cali’s P.O.V

I saw that b***h shift and I had to admit that her dragon is beautiful and huge. She was what I could only describe as what looked like a razorback dragon, which are very dangerous creatures, but I can always find a way around that. I was eavesdropping on her and her gang of b***h’s when they were training and I found out that she’d had three Alpha’s in total and both her second and third Alpha treated her as a slave, which suited me just fine.

“Be prepared to go back to what you know best, slave. I will have my crown, bitch.” I muttered to myself, as I looked for Alpha Billy’s number.

Alpha Billy’s P.O.V

It had been nearly two weeks since I had last seen Liv, but I really didn’t give a rats ass about her anymore. She was nothing but a plaything to torture and make fun of. Ever since she had been gone my mate Ally and I had grown closer and everything had changed. The pack had changed and now respected me and each other, instead of being scared of me, plus Ally and I had changed each other for the better. I never wanted to see Liv ever again. Hell, I couldn’t care less if she was alive or dead, as long as she wasn’t in my pack or on my territory anymore. I was just going to join my mate in bed when my phone suddenly began ringing.

“Hello, who is this and what do you want?” I asked, answering the phone on my desk. This had better be good.

“Hello, Alpha Billy, it seems we have a problem in common. Your little dragon, Liv Morgan is at the dragon kings castle and I want her gone, care to come and take her back. I want the queen's crown and I will have it.” A woman replied and I started laughing. This b***h was crazy.

“b***h, you got the wrong Alpha, you can keep her for all I care, but if you want her gone so badly then get rid of her yourself, you dumb b***h. Lose this number and never call me back because if you do I'll hunt you down myself and chop your head off.” I said and hung up the phone before she had a chance to answer. I shook my head as I walked up the stairs to the bedroom where my Luna was waiting for me. There’s no way I’m about to go up against a damn dragon and a dragon king to boot, that b***h is out of her mind. I made it all the way up to my room and opened the door to see my lovely mate already lying in bed, waiting for me.
