Updated again mistake fixed
. Liv’s P.O.V
When Cali stood up the bottle fell out of her hand and broke on the floor, spilling its contents everywhere. Adonis and I looked at each other and we both knew exactly why she had done this. Adonis’s sister Polly had come and told us what she had found out about the ingredients she was carrying that day, but instead of us confronting her about it we decided to play along. We were going to pretend that we had drunk it, but then she asked for it back before we had a chance to. I knew that she had done it on purpose, so I decided to take a risk and tell her what I bet she already knew.
“Cali, we already know what was inside that bottle, but I’m curious to know why you decided not to betray us and not kill me.” I said and Cali took a deep breath before sitting back down in the chair. Her wounds had started to heal now and apart from the blood coating her skin she was doing a lot better than when she first came in here, thanks to her dragon.
“You want to know my story, fine, I’ll tell you. Liv, before you came around I was number one here and I thought I was going to be queen, which is what I wanted. I tried my best to hurt you both and take my crown back, but when you both kicked down my bedroom door and saved me, I knew right away I was making a huge mistake, so I took the wine back and broke it. I am truly sorry.” Cali said, but just as I went to say something Cali shook her head and began talking again.
“Liv, there is something I need to tell you, to warn you about and that's your old packs. Alpha Billy is wanting you back and I think that Alpha Ozzy does too. Alpha Billy threatened me after I threatened him about coming here. I told him that if he came here and ruined what I had planned I was going to kill him, but he’s determined to capture you. I think he wants to make you his guard dog and make you do other things as well. He will stop at nothing to get to you, Liv, so be careful. I’m sorry for all the trouble I caused you, both of you, but thank you for helping me.” Cali said, but before either Adonis or I could say a word, guards came rushing into the office.
“My king, rogues are trying to get into the kingdom.” One of the guards said and Adonis quickly ran out of the office.
Connor’s P.O.V
My group and I were hunting down food to eat for the night, but we didn’t know what was out there and then we all smelled the same scent that none of us had smelt for a long time. We hid and watched for a while, taking in the scene in front of us and then I decided to come out of my hiding spot to ask why they were on my hunting grounds. I knew they were trackers, but I had no idea who they were tracking, so I slowly stood up and walked out of my hiding spot.
“Hey you, why are you on my hunting grounds? You must want to die if you willingly come here.” I said and one of the guys turned around smirking at me.
“Rogue, if I was you I would go back to your little hiding spot like a good little boy. Don’t try me or you will be the one that ends up dying.” The tracker replied, making me smirk this time.
“You and I both know that when you’re outside of your pack territory you have no power.” I said and the tracker's smirk faded away as he looked around. He knew that I was right, but something told me that he wasn’t going to back down so easily.
“Listen rogue, we are after a female that just shifted into her dragon, we have heard that she is meant to be the king's mate, but our Alpha wants her back at all costs and if we don’t find her then we won’t be able to go back.” The tracker replied and I nodded. I knew exactly who he was talking about, but I wasn’t going to let either of these trackers know that they were close to their target.
“If I was you, tracker, I would turn around and run or I’ll snap your neck and your friends as well.” I said and while the one tracker I was talking to looked seriously pissed off, the other tracker had a weird sort of smile on his face. Was he happy that I was refusing to help him? That’s weird. I’d had enough of this, so my pack of rogues and I chased the two trackers as far as we could without going into another pack's territory. After chasing them away we went back to our hunting grounds, but the feeling that I should do something kept nagging at me, so I decided to speak to the other members.
“I have decided to head over to the palace and warn the dragon king about this, he needs to know his mate is in danger. We would want to know if it's our mate. I’ll be going alone, but if there are any of you that want to come along then you are more than welcome.” I said and they all nodded.
“We are with you. All of us.” One of my pack members said and I nodded. These people were my family and I was glad that they were with me on this. We all made the journey to the king’s palace together and when we got there we received the same welcome that we normally did as the guards surrounded us, but then again what did we expect, we were rogues after all.
Adonis’s P.O.V
I was savage about what Cali said about Liv’s old Alpha’s and that they were coming for her again, but when the guards came in and told me about rogues I ran outside and saw that they were coming out of the woods. I ran straight for them, not caring how many there were. This was my home and I needed to protect my family and friends.
“WHO THE HELL ARE YOU AND WHY THE f**k ARE YOU HERE?! HOW DID YOU GET PAST MY GUARDS?!!” I shouted and one of the rogues at the front shifted and took a step forward. He quickly put on a pair of shorts, then raised his hands up as the others behind him shifted back into their human forms and did the same.
“I know that you are the king of dragons and I promise you that we aren’t here to fight, we came to warn you.” The head of the rogues said, keeping his hands in the air.
“Warn me about what?” I asked, curious as to what they could possibly warn me about.
“We came here to warn you about your mate. There are others out there right now that are hunting her, we saw them and they were close, but we chased them away. They are called trackers and once they find a scent they stop at nothing to find the person that scent belongs to. It’s only a matter of time before they find her, my king. We will try our best to keep them at bay, but you must find a way to cover her scent.” The head of Rogues said and I listened to everything, but I was confused.
“Why are you trying to help us? What’s in it for you?” I asked and the head rogue sighed.
“My name is Connor, sir and the reason for me helping you is because I no longer want to be a rogue, neither do my people. We came here to ask…..” The head rogue I now knew as Connor said, but before he could ask his question I held my hand up and stopped him from talking.
“I have never had wolves in my kingdom before, but, yes there's a but, but there's always a first time for everything. I have strict rules here and everyone goes by them. I have had these rules in place since my father stepped down many years ago and they will be obeyed or you will be dealt with accordingly. Now, why don’t you all come inside, shower and then come to the main hall. My guards here will escort you to the showers and you will have clean clothes waiting for you when you come out, then they will escort you to the hall. I will speak with each of you, telling you the rules and then approve of you to become members of my kingdom.” I said and Connor nodded as the others behind him smiled and let out deep breaths of what I can only assume was relief. I nodded for the guards to take them to the showers and then made my way back into the castle.
Connor’s (head rogue) P.O.V
After speaking to the dragon king I was shocked at how welcoming he was, but it was then that I decided that I didn’t want to be a rogue anymore. It had been a while since we had all had showers and the water felt so great that it took us a while to get finished. Once we had all finished washing and had gotten dressed, we followed the guards down to the hall. The main doors opened and we were all shocked to see how many people were in there. There were so many people in there waiting for us, that it was a little intimidating, especially when they all turned to look at us.
