Liv’s P.O.V
We made our way there and the whole time I felt like I was being watched, but I didn’t care because the town we were heading to was so beautiful. The building, the cars, the colourful trees that had leaves that were changing colour, it was all so beautiful. My guess was that it was fall and I always loved fall because of how the leaves changed colours. The houses here were really nice, nothing like the houses that were in the pack territory. The only reason those houses stayed looking like new was because they made me clean and paint them from top to bottom, but I didn’t mind that because it got me out of the pack house and away from Alpha Billy and Luna Ally. It was guaranteed that as soon as I was back inside the pack house the torture would start again, no matter how tired or beaten up I was, they would always find something for me to do and if I didn’t do it like they wanted it would be hell that night. This was the first night, in I don’t know how long, that I haven’t had to clean the whole house and then cook dinner, but it still made me wonder what the catch was. When will the other shoe drop? I thought just as Adonis pulled up to a building and parked the car. We got out of the car and there was a guy on the door, who as soon as he saw us he hurried to open the doors for us.
“Thank you.” We both said as we walked past him. The hostess sat us in a dark corner so that no one would bother us and then the waitress came and took our food and drink orders. I just wanted water, but Adonis ordered not just a glass, but a bottle of wine. When the waitress left we just sat there and after a few minutes of silence Adonis cleared his throat to speak, but he didn’t say anything. Our food was delivered shortly after and we fell into a nice simple conversation.

When we got to the restaurant I saw that Liv was a little nervous because she kept trying to cover herself and I knew that it was because of her bruises, but no one paid any attention to them and they would soon heal and fade away. Liv was still under the impression that she was human and would have to live with them forever, but she wasn’t and I honestly had no idea how I was going to tell her that she was actually a dragon, like me. Would she even believe me? I guess only time will tell, I thought to myself as we sat at the table in the corner that I always sat in when I came here to eat. I loved to come here and watch the humans when they came here to eat because sometimes it was like a dinner and a movie. At times I would flirt with one that would come here on their own and I would go back to her place and have some fun, then leave after. I never stayed because I never wanted to give any of them hope, especially as the only person that I would have by my side was my mate. Our food was finally delivered and we began to eat, chatting about small things and then after we finished eating we started to talk a bit more. I felt like she was opening up just a little and I was happy about that, but I knew I still needed to tell her.
“Liv, you know you’re like me, a dragon.” I blurted out and she looked at me like I was completely insane, which was what I expected, so I continued.
“I know it sounds crazy, but you are and the only reason you can’t feel her is because she has been subdued for so long and now there is a wall up between you two, so you are unable to hear her calling out to you. Once the wall is down you will be able to hear her voice and you will be able to talk to her, bonding with her.” I said and suddenly Liv started laughing.
“Adonis, it’s okay if you want to crack a joke or two, but please don’t feed me a bunch of lies and think I will believe you.” Liv replied and I sighed.
“You will see soon enough, Liv and then you will be able to shift into a dragon like I do. You will see your colour and will be able to fly high up into the sky like me.” I said, but she rolled her eyes as she took a drink of her water. I knew it was going to take a lot for her to believe me, but this was a start at least and one day she would know the truth.

Seriously? Me? A dragon? What bullshit. There was no way I was a dragon. I thought as we finished our drinks, paid the bill and left the restaurant before it closed down. We got in the car and headed back home, but by the time we arrived I was tired and it was late at night. We went up to the bedroom and I grabbed my clothes, then went to the bathroom to get changed into my night shorts and shirt. I washed my face to get the make-up off, brushed my teeth and then brushed my hair. When I came out of the bathroom Adonis had already pulled the bed out of the couch and was lying on it with his blanket and pillow. He didn’t have a shirt on and I was trying my best not to look at him, as I walked to the bed and climbed in, lying down.
“Do you want to watch TV or are you too tired?” Adonis asked, looking at me. I knew I was tired, but I didn’t want to disappoint him.
“We can watch a movie if you want.” I replied and he put the TV on. He found a film called Conair and it was already half way through, where they landed the plane and the guy ran away to another plane, but that plane crashed and the other guy set it on fire. I tried my hardest to stay up to watch the rest, but my eyes were winning out. My eyelids shut and I was fast asleep, but then came the nightmares. Alpha Billy was in his wolf form and he was chasing me through the woods, but he had others with him and they were snapping their jaws at me as they chased me. I fell over a root that was sticking out the ground and landed hard on the ground, but then one of the wolves shifted back and grabbed me. He wouldn’t let me go and I kept screaming for help, but no one ever came. Alpha Billy kept getting closer and closer to me, then he shifted into his human form and stood in front of me.
“So you thought you could get away from me, from us. You think he really loves you. He will turn on you and hurt you.” Alpha Billy said, laughing hard as he took a belt and started beating my legs and arms with it.
“AHHHHH!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!” I screamed out in pain, wanting to get up and run, but no one would let me go. Alpha Billy grabbed the back of my head and started dragging me back to the pack house.
“You belong to this pack. You're not getting away this time, you should have jumped when you could. Just wait until I get you back inside.” Alpha Billy said and I started screaming again. I was kicking and pulling at his hands, trying to get my hair free and run…..
“LIV!! LIV!! HONEY!! IT'S OKAY!!” I heard and then I felt like I was being gently shaken. My eyes shot open to see Adonis sitting next to me. I had tears in my eyes as I grabbed onto him and hugged him tightly, crying my eyes out.
“Liv, what did this man do to you? I heard you screaming and I tried to hurry and wake you up. It’s okay, honey, you’re safe now. I promise you are safe. I’ll kill anyone that would ever try to hurt you. If you want you can start training with my sisters, that should help as well and I’ll help you.” Adonis said, rocking me back and forth.

I don’t know what happened to her, but whatever it was had not only physically hurt her, but also mentally and that would take longer to heal than any injury, but I would stay with her all the way and back her up. I kept rocking her back and forth until I heard her breathing even out and I knew that she had fallen back asleep. I decided to lay with her, to keep her in my arms and help her at least stay calm and get a good night's sleep. I turned the TV off and laid down beside her, not wanting to let her go just in case she had another bad dream. I heard as my dragon Indigon purred in my head and I scoffed.
“Did you just purr?” I asked and heard him huff at me.
“Don’t judge me, she smells so good and she’s our mate, I can tell she has a dragon, but she’s really weak. We have to get her stronger so she can come forward. I want my mate too, Adonis.” Indigon replied and I could hear the pain in his voice.
“Don’t worry, you will, just give her until tomorrow and then we can start training.” I said, knowing how he was feeling, but also not wanting to push Liv too hard. I held her tightly in my arms throughout the night, but every so often she would let out soft whimpers and then I would feel tears on my arms from her eyes. I know that whatever happened to her was really bad, but I think that one way for her to feel stronger is to break the wall down between her and her dragon and the only way for me to do that is to get her to believe in dragons. I think that in the morning I’ll show her my dragon and let her fly, maybe then she will have a little peace of mind. Now that I had a plan I closed my eyes and held her closer to me, not wanting to let her go as I drifted off to sleep, feeling better about tomorrow.
