Chapter 8 meeting the first time

Updated Liv’s P.O.V I took the clothes from Aquilla and went into the bathroom that was next to me, closing the door behind me so I had privacy to get dressed. I put the clothes down on the counter and looked up at the mirror, gasping when I saw my reflection. My face was badly bruised, my left eye had red on the side of the pupil and I had a cut on my forehead that had been stitched up. My lip was so bruised that it was swollen and when I reached up and softly touched it I winced from how tender it was. I slid the hospital gown off and carefully put on the button up shirt so that my ribs wouldn’t hurt because I knew they were still bruised from the kicking that Alpha Billy gave me a week ago. I pulled on the sweatpants and I liked how soft they felt against my skin, but that was when I realised just how much weight I had lost as I had to tie them tighter to keep them on. “Are you ready, Miss Liv?” Aquilla asked, knocking on the door. “Yeah, I guess I am. Am I going to go see him?” I asked, opening the door and walking out. “No, not today. I’m supposed to take you to his room and get you comfortable, then let you get more rest. I have my car, so let’s get going.” Aquilla replied, confusing me even more. Why was I going to his room? We left the hospital and we got into her car, but she sped off as soon as I got inside and I was still locking the seatbelt when she was driving. I’m telling you she scared the s**t out of me and I thought she was going to hit people on the way there with how she was driving, but she never did. When we finally got to the place where I was going to stay I looked up and I was gobsmacked. “Holy s**t, this place is a freaking castle, Aquilla. Are you sure you have brought me to the right place?” I asked and she just laughed. “Yes Liv, this is the place. King Adonis lives here and this will be your home as well. Come on, I’ll show you to his room. He will be home later tonight, so you need to get your rest.” Aquilla said, parking the car and getting out. I undid my seatbelt and got out of the car, then followed her into the huge castle. When we walked inside there were people around cleaning and carrying fresh flowers, putting them in vases. The walls had huge framed pictures on them and some had both men and women in them, my guess was these couples were married and the others were single. In the middle of the huge hallway was a fountain and when I looked down into the water I saw fish swimming. I thought it was a bit weird to have fish swimming in a fountain that was in the middle of a hallway, but this hallway was huge. I followed Aquilla into a huge living room and my mouth dropped open. There was a huge fireplace and in the middle of the room was a bearskin rug with a marble coffee table in front of a couch that matched the carpet. There was a giant huge flat screen TV mounted on the wall and on the far left was a mini bar with bottles of liquor and glasses on the shelves behind it. “Come on, he wants me to show you around before you go and rest, so I’ll just show you the bottom floor for today as I don’t want you to exert yourself, then tomorrow I’ll show you the second floor.” Aquilla said and I was a little shocked. Yeah of course this is a castle and of course it will have a second floor, maybe even a fourth and fifth, but I’m assuming I would see them another day. The next room Aquilla took me to was the kitchen, which amazed me with how clean it was. In the middle of the kitchen stood a huge marble island with chairs around it and to the sides were four stoves and four refrigerators. There was tonnes of cabinets, but I was worried about how I was supposed to cook in this kitchen. I wouldn’t mind because it was beautiful, but how many people lived in this castle? “Am I supposed to cook here and if so how many live here? What time do I need to get up to start breakfast?” I asked and Aquilla looked a little taken aback at first, but then she started laughing. “Liv, you’re not cooking unless you want to. We have cooks that cook here everyday, they take shifts.” Aquilla said and I nodded as we walked into another room. “This is the family room, you see here the photos on the right wall are of his parents from a long time ago, they are still alive today, but they are on the third floor and over there are photos of his sisters, they are on the second floor. He has brothers and they moved out to start their own families, but they still come to visit from time to time.” Aquilla said, pointing them all out in the pictures. I looked around the room and there was a white marble coffee table in the middle of the room, a huge fireplace and a TV mounted on the wall. I followed Aquilla as we moved to another room and when she opened the door there was a huge movie screen. “This is the theatre, the kids come here to watch movies and you can too. Movie nights are on Thursday’s unless you change the day. Come one, let's go up to your room.” Aquilla said and I nodded as we left that room and walked to a far wall that had double doors. “I use this to get to the top floor, it's so much easier than walking up all those stairs.” Aquilla said, stepping through the doors and into an elevator. We reached the top floor and Aquilla stepped out with me following her. I looked left then right and there were two huge doors right in front of me. They looked to be really heavy, but Aquilla opened them with ease. “Come on, don’t be scared. I think you will like this as well.” Aquilla said, walking into the room. I was scared of what was behind the doors. Had they brought me here to hurt me? What did they have planned? I thought as I walked inside, but when I looked my jaw dropped open. There was a huge bed in the far corner of the room with clear white netting over it and the headboard and bed posts were a matching light blue. On the bed were four huge pillows that matched the bed and the blanket. I turned and saw that there was a nightstand on either side of the bed, with lamps on top. “These two dressers are for you, the other two are the kings. Come on, let me show you the closet.” Aquilla said, walking over to two double doors and opening them. We walked inside and this room was just as big as the bedroom, but it looked like a long hallway with how it was laid out. On the left side there were mens clothes, shoes, robes and there was even a shelf with different crowns on it. The shoes matched the clothes they were under and so did the robes, but when I looked at the other side I saw that it was empty. “I know it's empty now, but once you have rested, are feeling better and have settled in, we can go clothes shopping and we will soon have it filled.” Aquilla said as we walked back into the bedroom. “I don’t get it, why are you and everyone else being so nice? What's the catch? What am I supposed to do?” I asked, worried about what she was going to say, but she shook her head. “Miss Liv, there is no catch here, you are the king's mate and that makes you the queen. As far as me being nice, that's nothing new, I’m nice to everyone that is nice to me, dear. It's called respect. Now go and get your rest, okay. I need to get back to work, but I’ll come back later to check on you. Oh I almost forgot, over there are the doors to the bathroom.” Aquilla said and I nodded as she walked out of the room, closing the doors behind her. Aquilla’s P.O.V I left Liv to her own thing, hoping that she would rest and got back into the elevator, taking my phone out of my pocket and calling Adonis. “Sir, she’s in your room and I told her to rest up, that I’ll be back later to check up on her.” I said as the elevator started moving. “Good good, I should be back by tomorrow, so just make sure she is well enough before you two go shopping and she is kept happy until I get back.” Adonis replied and I nodded, but then realised that he couldn’t see me. “Yes sir, will do.” I said and he ended the call. Liv’s P.O.V I quickly rushed to the bathroom, doing my business and washing my hands, then I took a look around. Damn, this room is big enough to have another two rooms put inside it, I thought to myself as I walked back into the bedroom and kicked off my slippers. I carefully got onto the bed and laid down, trying to find a spot that was comfortable and wouldn’t hurt, but the whole time I was hoping I wouldn’t get into trouble for sleeping in here. I still felt like this was a dream, that none of this was real at all. If this was a dream then I never wanted to wake up, if this wasn’t a dream then I never wanted to sleep, I thought as I closed my eyes. I was so comfortable that it took me no time at all to fall asleep. Adonis’s P.O.V I had told Aquilla that I was away, but I was actually home and had watched my mate step into the castle. I wanted to make sure she was safe and that she was okay, but I didn’t want to go to her just yet. I needed to make sure that everything was set first. The guards and my sisters were meant to be going with her when she went shopping, but I had decided at the last minute that I wanted to take her. My biggest problem was that I didn’t know how she was going to react to me. I went into another room, not wanting to scare her on her first night here. I wanted her to sleep peacefully, so I stripped down and got into the shower. I turned on the water and let the hot water run down my back, but the whole time my dragon Indigon was wanting to lay down beside her. “I want to mate with her straight away and make her ours, make her our queen officially.” Indigon grumbled in my head as I got out of the shower. “No Indigon, not yet. Let her grow to love us first, to trust us fully. She has been through a lot and I don’t want to scare her away, do you?” I asked, getting into bed. “No, mate can’t leave. We only just found her, she can’t leave us, she can’t be scared of us.” Indigon replied and he finally seemed to understand why I was doing it this way. I closed my eyes thinking about our mate and Indigon was finally at peace in my mind, knowing that she was just in the next room.
