Liv’s P.O.V
When we arrived at the shopping centre we got out of the Hummer and as soon as the people around us saw Adonis they quickly bowed to him and then went on with whatever they were doing. We walked into the shopping center and the three girls went ahead, telling us that they would meet us back at the Hummer, but that meant I was now left alone with Adonis. He took my hand in his and I flinched slightly, but instantly felt guilty when I saw the sad expression on Adonis’s face. Was he hurt? Sad? Upset? Angry? I had no idea what it was, but for some reason I hated seeing him look like that, so I took his hand and squeezed it, making him look right at me and smile. I didn’t like the thought of him being upset and he hadn’t hurt me, but my mind kept going back to when Alpha Billy said we were mates and that ended in years of abuse. Was he doing the same as what Alpha Billy did? Was he tricking me to trust him and then going to hurt me?
“Come on, there's the dress shop, so let's start there and get you some dresses.” Adonis said, leading me into the dress store. I looked around and there were dresses of every size, shape and length, each looking just as nice as the next.
“Pick out any dress you want and then go try them on.” Adonis said, but I didn’t want to spend his money, so I sighed and took a look around. I found a few dresses that were cheap in price and in the sale section, then took them to the changing room. I tried them on and came out with three dresses, hoping that he wouldn’t be too mad if I had three, but when he saw me he shook his head and I knew that I was in trouble.
“Liv, when I said pick out anything you want I meant anything. Here, I’ll help you.” Adonis said, shocking me. He wasn’t mad that I had three dresses, he wanted me to pick out more. Adonis walked over and after a few minutes he had picked out sixty different dresses in my size, all of them in different colours and styles, with the heels to match. I tried each of them on and then he took them all to the counter and paid for them. All sixty three dresses and heels.
“You know where to take them, I want them there today.” Adonis said and the cashier nodded.

We left the store going to the next one and I did the exact same thing as before, mainly because I knew that Liv wouldn’t do it, so I did it for her. I got her jewellery, as well as a vanity and a jewellery stand for her, then we went to the cosmetics and got her make-up, body wash and everything else she would need as well. The next thing I wanted to do was get her all the gadgets she would need, so I took her to the phone shop and got her a phone, laptop and a tablet that looked about the same size as a small TV. I looked at Liv as she eyed the gadgets, but she looked really unsure.
“Don’t worry, I’ll teach you how to use them and I’ll also put my number in your phone for you.” I said and all she did was nod. She seemed to ease up a bit around me, but she was still on her guard and I knew that it was because she was scared, especially after how she has been treated. I had questions that I wanted to ask her about what happened, but I didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable by talking about it, so I left it.

I still wasn’t really sure about any of this and I couldn’t help being cynical and suspicious when I thought about what was going to happen to me after this was over and we got back to the castle. I mean when we got back he would probably throw me in a room with nothing and give all of this to his real mate. Why would he want a human like me anyway? I didn’t trust him or anyone else at all and if that was the case and he was just tricking me for now then I was going to be ready for it. There was only one person I thought that maybe I could trust a little and that was Aquilla, so I would ask her to help me escape and if she refused then I would find another way somehow. I didn’t notice that he was holding my hand until I felt his thumb run across my hand, making me look down at it. I didn’t flinch away this time and just shrugged. I might as well make the most of it after all. I held his hand while we walked back to the car and the other three girls were just walking up as well.
“Everything will be there when we get home and it will be put up, so you won’t have to do anything but rest.” Adonis said and I just nodded as I got in the car. I was so tired of playing games, so I decided that when we got back I was just going to come right out and ask him for the truth. After all I might as well get it out in the open instead of having my feelings hurt in the end. The car ride home was uneventful as the girls talked about what they had brought and Adonis kept his eyes on the road, while I was looking out the window, but I still felt his eyes on me every so often. Once we were back at the castle Adonis and I went up to the room that I was in before, but there was a very beautiful couch that wasn’t in here before.
“It's for me. Until you accept me as your mate I’ll be sleeping on that couch, but don’t worry, it comes out as a bed.” Adonis said and I was shocked. I blinked a few times and then spoke for the second time ever to him.
“Listen, what’s the catch with all of this? I mean for real you buy all this nice stuff and tell me that it's for me, but I don’t and can’t believe this. I’ve been through too much to trust anything that people say, so spit it out and put all your cards on the table because I won’t do this, not again. Who is your true mate and when is she coming? Do I need to look for another room to sleep in?” I asked and Adonis just stood there stunned for a few minutes.
“Liv, I don’t know what you were put through in that house and I hope that one day you will trust me enough to tell me, but there are a few facts here that I want you to know and be certain of. Firstly, you are my true mate and you’re not going anywhere. Secondly, everything that is here and was brought today is yours. Third, no one is going to hurt you here, honey. I promise.” Adonis said as I sat down on the edge of the bed. I was trying my hardest not to cry, but when I looked up at him I had tears in my eyes.
“I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be like this, but I have fought for most of my life and when you found me I had completely given up on life and everything else. It's going to take a while as Alpha Billy broke me down every day and made me feel like I was nothing.” I said, unable to say everything that he had done because he had done so much.
“Tell me what he did to you, Liv.” Adonis said, sitting down on the bed next to me and taking my hands in his, but all I could do was shake my head no.
“Maybe one day, but right now I just…I can’t talk about it.” I replied and he just nodded.
“There’s no rush to tell me, we will do everything on your time, but if you don’t mind I’m going to take a shower so that we can get ready for dinner. While I’m in there I want you to think about where you want to go, okay.” Adonis said and then went to the closet to get his clothes. He smiled at me as he went into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. After a few minutes Adonis came back into the bedroom, but he only had his jeans on and that was when I noticed the tattoo that I saw a little bit of when we first met. It wasn’t just on his neck like I had first thought, it was actually on his chest and spread out, wrapping around both arms. I followed his tattoo and my eyes went to his abs, where I actually felt like I was drooling because he had a ten pack. I mean how the hell can any man have a ten pack, I thought as my eyes trailed up to his face and that's when I saw that he was smiling. His eyes kinda shined when he smiled and his hair was down, so that I could see the full effect of it.
“You like what you see?” Adonis said, chuckling. I blushed a deep red as I had been caught red handed checking him out and quickly ran into the bathroom. I showered and got cleaned up ready for dinner, but when I got done showering I realised that I had left my clothes in the bedroom and Adonis was still in there. I dried off and grabbed a robe that was hanging up, then I towel dried my hair. I wasn’t sure what to wear and I had no idea if the clothes had been delivered yet, so when I walked into the bedroom I went straight to the walk-in closet. I was surprised to see that all of the clothes had been delivered and put away. I decided to wear a pair of black jeans with a purple top and then grabbed a pair of sandals that matched the jeans. After getting dressed I walked back into the bedroom, but I didn’t see Adonis anywhere, so I went back into the bathroom and continued to dry my hair, putting it into a french braid. I was never big on make-up, so I put on a little eyeliner, eyeshadow and lip gloss, hoping that he liked what I had done. I stepped out of the bathroom and Adonis was back, sitting on the bed waiting for me. He looked up when he heard me come in and I watched as he looked me up and down then whistled in a flirty way, making me blush.
“Liv, you look beautiful, not that you didn’t before, because you always do and we match.” Adonis said, getting tongue tied and then gesturing to the light purple button up shirt and black jeans. His hair was now brushed and laying on his shoulders, looking incredible. Damn, I would love to run my fingers through his hair, but I won’t, he might get mad and I don’t need that, I thought to myself.
“So, have you figured out where you want to eat?” Adonis asked, but I shook my head and looked down.
“I wasn’t allowed to leave the house when I was there, so I’m not really sure what is out there now. How about you decide this time and next time I’ll try to decide?” I asked, unsure if he would be happy about that or not.
“s**t, I’m so sorry, it's okay, give me a few minutes.” Adonis said, understanding and then he took out his cell phone.
“Yeah, I would like to make a reservation….well, we’ll be there in thirty minutes…..alright, very well, see you then.” Adonis said and then hung up the phone. He put it back in his pocket and then looked at me smiling.
“Alright, let's get going, we have a dinner reservation at an Italian restaurant called Del Posto. So let's get going, shall we?” Adonis said, holding his arm out for me to take.
