I can't believe Josiah attacked another person and it happened to be Dara. I honestly didn't want to believe he was actually assaulting she-wolves from our pack, but I can't deny it now. I wonder if he has gone as far as assaulting she-wolves from other packs? I don't know what to do now. I have known him since we were pups and I knew from a young age, he was going to be my Beta, but now I guess I have to find someone else to take that place because I can't have a Beta that is assaulting she-wolves. Josiah has to be punished for what he has done, but I don't know how to punish him. I don't know if it was him or his wolf doing that. I mean I know they are one in the same, but if it was his wolf taking over and blocking him out, Josiah may not know what is really going on. I need to talk to Beta Jonas and the elders to see if it is possible that Josiah's wolf could be blocking him out from the assaults. Having Georgia helping me in my office the past few days has been great. She has gotten a lot organized and I enjoy having her around me. She keeps me in a good mood. Tilden has been doing better and has been staying to himself. I'm starting to see the old Tilden. I know how much being named Gamma means to him. He has always wanted to make his dad proud. When he told his dad I asked him to be my Gamma, his dad cried. For an Omega to receive the Gamma title is an honor. Most packs have a Gamma through bloodline. Before my dad's Gamma died, he never found his mate and didn't have any children, so that's how I was able to pick Tilden as mine. Since I am probably going to have to find a new Beta, I may ask Tilden. I'm sure he could help me pick a new Gamma if it comes down to it. I called Beta Jonas to my office so I could talk to him about Josiah.
"Beta Jonas, as you know, we have Josiah in the dungeon for getting caught assaulting a pack member. I was wondering if it were possible his wolf could be blocking him out completely from the assault?"
"I am not sure Brandon. I have never heard of it, but I won't say it isn't possible. I think we need to contact the elders and see if they have heard of it happening before. What are you planning on doing about a Beta? I cannot allow you to name Josiah as Beta for what he has done. Even if it was his wolf side and not his human side, I cannot allow him to take the title because who is to say it won't happen again?" He says.
"I agree, Jonas. We should contact the elders to find out. I know I cannot name Josiah as my Beta now with the crimes he has committed. I am thinking about giving the Beta title to Tilden now and we can find a new Gamma later on. I don't want to prolong your retirement anymore. You have been a lifesaver for this pack and I know I will never be able to thank you enough for keeping this pack together. Let's go ahead and set the title transfer to Tilden for next weekend. I have already checked the moon phase and we can do it then."
"I will get to work on preparing for it. Martha is ready to go spend time on the beach." Jonas says, and I laughed.
"I know she is. She has talked about going to the beach for as long as I can remember. I want to repay both of you for everything the two of you have done for me. You have both been like parents to me and I want to do something for you and her, so tell Martha that I will be paying for the entire trip. Tell her to book for however long she wants. It's the least I can do."
"Thank you, Brandon. We do consider you a son and I know she is going to argue about you paying, but I will make sure she books the trip. Your mother and father would be proud of the man you have become." He says.
After Jonas left, I broke down and cried. I know I never knew my mother, but it still gets to me when someone mentions her. Making them proud is something I have wanted to do and I know I didn't get off to a good start, but I am hoping with the changes I am making, they are proud of me. After my little breakdown, I cleaned my face up and I went down to Georgia's to check in on Dara to see how she was doing. I knew she wouldn't want to be alone after what happened, so that's why I told her to stay with Georgia. I wanted both of them to actually stay in the packhouse guest room but I knew Georgia would be against it. She did agree to let me put up cameras around the yard just in case Josiah was to escape and go looking for Dara. When I knocked on her door, Georgia opened it and I smiled. She looks beautiful even with a face mask and her hair in a messy bun. She let me in and told me she and Dara were pampering themselves and Dara was fine. Dara came out of the bedroom and had bottles of nail polish in her hands. I laughed and told them I was just checking in and I would let them get back to their pamper session. I said bye and I went back to the packhouse to find Tilden and tell him about the change in title.
