CHAPTER TEN The next morning, Stella woke up feeling nervous about the confrontation ahead. Her stomach growled uneasily, and she realized this was more than nerves. Instead, she was feeling a low-grade nausea. Her head was pounding. She wondered if she’d picked up a bug from somewhere. It surely couldn’t have been from the fresh, tasty cold meats and salad that she’d enjoyed yesterday at Rebecca’s. Staring at Vaughn, conflicting emotion surged through her as she saw his handsome features, his eyes closed in slumber, his wayward hair which he hadn’t yet cut, tousled over his forehead.
