The Alpha's Trespasser

Chapter 2: No One Lays A Finger On Her

“Stop!” One of them said. “Don’t kill her. We don’t know who she really is. She could be a spy! We have no idea what information she has in her possession. “We have to bring her to the courtroom and let the law judge her destiny.”

“What? This? A spy? She looks like nothing to me. Probably some pack member who got lost in the deep forest.” The man holding me said.

“Let’s just go back and bring her with us.” One of them said.

The man holding me took his knife away from my neck and let me go. I fell to the ground and hit a huge root. My arms were bleeding. Two of them held my arms and dragged me. I was too weak to even complain about the pain I felt. They just kept on dragging me and I just let them. They ran so fast that I couldn’t even see where we were going.

“We’re near.” The man leading us to where we’re going said.

I saw my arms still bleeding and my body felt numb. Am I going to die here?

“Let go of me! I am not a spy!” I screamed. These men are holding me like an animal. It hurts that they are dragging me in the woods and not even letting me walk properly. “Please!”

“Get your hands off of her!” I heard someone said then a man stood in front of us. He was tall and handsome. His face is perfectly shaped and magnificently sculptured by the Great Creator above.  I could even stare at his handsome face all day. He has thick brows, a pointed nose, inviting lips, and gorgeous blue eyes. The moonlight revealed how hot he is. The wind blew and I smelled something addictive. It was like a smell from a newly bloomed flower or as a mix of cinnamon and lemon essence. What is this? Well, we are in the forest this is probably just forest flowers.

“B-But Alpha Duke she is an enemy. She is a trespasser and must be punished!” The guy on my left said.

ALPHA?! He’s an alpha?

“What?! What did you say?” The man whom they addressed as Duke said loudly and the men who were holding me looked scared.

“A-Alpha, we found her arou—”

“I said; get your hands off of her!” He said and the two men let go of me.

‘’Hey, we’re dead, he’s the alpha. He’s gonna kill us.’ Rein, mind-linked me.

‘’Oh, please, tell me something I don’t know.’ I said weakly. I know the punishment for trespassers is death and I will face that sooner or later.

“What’s your name?” The Alpha asked me.

I looked up and laughed sarcastically.

“My name’s Xena but if you’re going to kill me, do it already. There’s no need for small talks like this, Alpha.” I said staring at him directly in his eyes. I somehow find myself mesmerized by the way he looked at me.

“Hey, respect the Alpha!” The man on my right yelled and then he pushed me down on the ground and kicked me so hard.

I yelped in pain as I held my stomach. Asshole!

“That’s enough!” The Alpha said as he went down to help me. “I told you to get your hands off her and you do this? Are you disobeying me now?” He yelled at the man. He looks scary as hell when he’s mad.

He helped me get up and cleaned my shirt. There was dirt and blood all over it.

“Are you alright?” He asked. Oh, so he was concerned about me.  I pushed his hands away.

“No, of course not, Alpha, I was just teaching her to show some respect—”

“Then you should show respect to her as well!” He yelled and went to the guy. He pinned him on the tree and punched him straight to the face.

What the hell is he doing? Why is he defending me? Shouldn't he kill me by now?

“You've hurt her! You shouldn’t have done that.” He said as he gave the guy one last punch before he fell to the ground unconscious.

I tried to walk away from there but my body hurts so much. It might be because they dragged me earlier and I hit myself with roots of the trees and some thorns. I walked one step but then I couldn’t do it, my whole body was in an agonizing pain. I felt weak and dizzy. I was falling and was ready to kiss the ground when someone caught me. It was the Alpha. Now, I am more than scared. What does he want from me? Does he want to torture me for information?

“Let me go,” I said weakly. “I want to go.”

“Yes,baby, we’ll go home now.” He said.

Baby? Who is she calling baby? Am I hallucinating now?

“Alpha Duke, what is going on here? Who is she?” A man who just arrived with pack soldiers said. Good! Now, I really don’t have a way to escape. “Is she a spy? Shall we punish her?”

“NO!” Alpha Duke growled and glared at the man. “No one lays a finger on her. Respect her with the same respect you are giving me because she is your Luna!”

Wait, WHAT?! I am their Luna? Does that mean… I am his mate? Why don’t I feel it? My mother said that there was supposed to be a very familiar scent that I could smell whenever I found my— Oh no! Is this the scent my Mom was talking about? It was a mixture of lavender and cinnamon. Wow, it smells great.  Maybe, I was just too scared earlier that’s why I didn’t notice this. He’s my mate! Is that a good thing?

‘Of course! Meeting your mate is the best thing!’ Rein said.

I was still processing what he said when I felt my body getting weaker and weaker until I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore.
