Chapter 4 & 5: Let Me Go!

I woke up the next morning and I was still in Duke’s bed. Where is he? He didn’t sleep with me in his bed last night and I wonder where could he be? I felt bad that he has to stay out of his room because I am using it. Will I get used to this situation? In just days, my whole world changed. I belong to another pack now and their Alpha is my mate. Isn’t that crazy? It’s pretty crazy and it’s the mere reason that I have to leave this place. There are so many innocent people here and I don’t want them to be involved with my trouble from my old pack.

I decided to get up and find ways to escape this place. I need to know who and where the guards are at all times so I would know when will be the best time to escape. I was having a quick shower when I heard someone entered the room. Is Duke here already? I decided to get up from the bathtub and changed into the clothes that he gave me. I went out of the bathroom and saw Duke sitting at the edge of the bed. His piercing blue eyes roam through my body in a very seductive way. What is he up to? I can feel a burning desire inside of me when he stared at my neck for a few seconds. What is happening here?

Duke walked towards me and without delay, he kissed me hungrily. It was like he has wanted to do this for a long time. He kissed me like there was no tomorrow. He urged me to open my mouth and when I didn’t, he slightly bit my lips which made me moan and he took that as an opportunity to enter his tongue. He conquered it like it was the most exciting thing to do. His kisses went deeper and deeper until we were both panting. He broke the kiss and trailed his lips from my neck down to my collar bone down. It was so erotic that I couldn’t even recognize my voice as I moaned in his touch. He carried me to the bed and he removed my shirt revealing my breasts to him. He kissed and sucked it and it felt so good. I don’t ever remember feeling something like this before. I feel like there’s something I want him to do but I don’t quite know what. He started kissing me downwards to my stomach and below. He groaned and then took off my shorts. I am under him in my panties alone and I felt so hot. He kissed me once again as he kneads my breasts. God, this feels great! I don’t know what to do. I felt so wet below. I wanted him to touch me down there but he didn’t. I spread my legs wider and he took that as a sign that I want him there.

“Not so fast, babe.” He said in my ear. “I will make this special.”

He touched me down there and I moaned louder than I did earlier. He took off my panties and touched me down there. He positioned himself above me as he drew circles on my most sensitive part. He played with mine until I came to a release. He felt it and without a word, he sucked me. I thought that there was nothing more than what I felt earlier but I was wrong. Seeing and feeling him ate me down there like I was some delicious meal is so erotic. He stopped when he felt my release. He then kissed me on the temple.

“I am gonna mark you now, is that alright?” He said in the gentlest voice I have heard of him.

I couldn’t speak as I was still in awe at what happened. I nodded and he took that as my consent to mark me. He lowered his mouth and nibbled on the spot in between my neck and collar bone. It felt nice.

“I am gonna mark you now, alright? You are mine now and the only mine.” He said as he sunk his teeth on me. I screamed in pain when he sunk it lower. It was the most painful thing that I felt in my entire life but it was replaced with pleasure when he was done. He kissed it until I could no longer feel the pain.

He stopped and I felt sleepy when he does. He cuddled with me and I was not sure what he did next as I have already fallen asleep.

I woke up when I heard noises. I didn’t quite get it at first but when I opened my eyes and saw a woman and Duke in front of me, I can immediately tell that something was up.

“Look what you have done, Lenna, you just woke her up,” Duke said. I rubbed my eyes and got up. Who is this woman and what are they talking about?

“So, you are his mate, are you sure you’re not a spy or an assassin?” She said. What?! An assassin? Me? I almost laughed at her. I couldn’t even kill a bug and she thought that I was an assassin?

“Stop it, Lenna. Show some respect to her. She is your Luna.” Duke said but the woman was persistent. She went near me to the bed and leveled with my eyes. It was like she was looking straight into my soul.

“Hey, what are you doing?” I said when I could no longer hold myself. Is she a psycho?

“Lena, can you please and stop and give us some privacy here?” Duke said. He looked impatient but he couldn’t seem to do anything. He is the Alpha, right? Why does it look to me that he has no control over this one?

The woman, Lena, stood up straight and turned to Duke.

“Are you sure she is your mate? She looks like a weakling to me. She isn’t suitable to be our Luna.” She said. “What we need is a strong Luna, who can protect the pack and everyone in it. Someone who is a daughter of an old Beta and –“

“Someone like you?” I interrupted her. I know what this woman wanted. She wanted to be Duke’s mate and the pack’s Luna. She just couldn’t say it straight in our faces.

“Exactly. Don’t you agree with me, Dukey?” Dukey? Did she call him Dukey? Is that his nickname? So, they must really be close to one another.

“Stop it now, Lena, and please leave us,” Duke said as he pulled Lena towards the door. “Please don’t do that again or else—“

“Or else what? Are you gonna ban me from the pack? Can you do that to me? Can you do that t your best friend and your first love? Because I don’t think so.” She said boastfully. So, they were a thing before. Maybe that’s the reason why they seemed to be close.

“Just leave, please.” Duke opened the door for her and she left but not without giving me a stern look.

Duke closed the door and looked at me apologetically. I just remained seated on the bed and didn’t say a word.

“I’m sorry about her, she’s just like that all the time.” He said. He’s saying sorry for her. She must really be special for him.

‘Are you jealous? Because I am.’ Rein said.

‘There’s no need for that. I think she is just a part of his past and I think he should have her because pretty soon we have to leave him. We can’t stay here and let our old pack destroy this pack.’

“It’s fine, you don’t have to worry about it,” I said as I stood up and went to the bathroom.

I looked at myself in the mirror. It was real! I thought I was just dreaming about Duke marking me but I wasn’t and the proof is right here in my neck. He marked me already, how can I leave now?

That night, Duke slept in the room with me. He tried to talk to me about the marking thing and Lenna but I shoved him off. I didn’t want to talk about it. It happened already and I wouldn’t say that I didn’t like it when in fact I even love it. I just don’t want to discuss things with him since I didn’t know if I’ll be staying or not. I wanted to stay but if that would only hurt my mate and his pack then I would rather leave. I know our old pack’s alpha is notorious and brutal and I don’t want Duke to experience what kind of an alpha he is.

I woke up that morning without him by my side. I guess that’s how Alpha’s work. They must be up early and lead the whole pack. I decided to went out of the house and explore the place. I went for a run and ended up at the border where I was caught by Duke’s pack. I rested for a while and sat at the edge of the roots.

I thought I hear someone moved so I turned around tool a look but no one was there. It was probably just a bird, I thought to myself. I was enjoying the air when someone jumped at me. I remembered him as my old pack’s soldier. I pushed him away and stood in a fighting stance but then more soldiers emerged from behind the trees and were ready to attack me when we heard someone approaching. They ran and hid from the trees. They must be afraid to be caught in another pack’s territory. I ran towards Duke's house and bumped into someone. It was Duke.

“What are you doing here?” He asked me and I could tell that he didn’t like me being in here.

“I-I was just getting some air,” I said softly.

“It’s dangerous for you to be in here. Come on, let’s go back.” He said as he offered his hand. I took it and together hand in hand we walked towards his house.

I am nervous. After the encounter with my old pack earlier, Duke and I ate our breakfast and then he had to leave to attend to some Alpha duties and I was left alone in the room. He came back in the afternoon and brought clothes for me saying that I need to dress up for tonight’s event. He said he set up a party at the garden and he’ll introduce me to the pack as their Luna tonight. I am way beyond nervous. What if my old pack will come and get me? Now that they know where I am, I am pretty sure that they will do anything to get me. I need to leave this pack as soon as possible.

I heard a knock on the door and Duke entered.

“Hey, why aren’t you ready yet?” He was confused. I was still in my pajamas lying in bed.

“I’m sorry I can’t join you tonight. I’m just not feeling well.” I faked my voice so that I would sound like a sick person.

He came towards me and touched my forehead.

“You have no fever. What are you feeling exactly?” He said and I was guilty because he looked concerned.

“I’m just feeling a little light-headed and nauseous. Can I sleep this one out?” I said as I faked a cough.

“Of course, I’ll send your dinner here.” He said.

I nodded and he went outside. He came back a few minutes after with a tray of food in his hand. He sat beside me and put the tray on the bedside table.

“I’ll help you get up so you can eat.” He said.

I just agreed and let him help me. I needed to convince him that I am sick.

“I’ll feed you so just be still.” He said.

‘He is the sweetest!’ Rein said.

I smiled at him as he fed me.

“Wow, it’s good. You have a good chef in here.” I said.

“Yeah, we do, and this one is specially made for you.” He said.

“Thank you for taking care of me,” I said. It was sincere; I appreciate his efforts.

“You’re welcome.” He said. “Come on, eat all of this so you’re strength will be restored. We have a lot to do for you here as our Luna.”

Our Luna. He has accepted me as their Luna.

I ate everything he gave me. He said he’ll leave me to rest and he’ll inform the pack that the event would be rescheduled. I was left alone.

I immediately stood up the moment he closed the door. I checked if it was locked. Luckily, it wasn’t. I put on the slippers and hurriedly went out. I don’t know the way but when I saw the stairs, I immediately went there. I was nervous that someone or Duke could see me. I was in the living room when the main door opened. A woman who’s probably in her twenties came in, I was nervous that she would tell on me. She looked at me and then continued walking. Right, she probably doesn’t know me yet and I think that’s a good thing. I hurriedly went out the door. I ran in the direction of the nearest trees and ran until I was exhausted.

I laid on the ground and rest. I don’t know where this path would lead me but I just have to run and run.

‘I miss our mate already.’ Rein said.

‘’Me too, Rein, me too.’

‘Do you think we’ll see him again?’ She said.

‘I have no idea.’ I said as a matter of fact.

I was well-rested in the morning so I decided to continue getting as far away as possible. I didn’t know where I was or if I was closer to the old pack’s territory. I didn’t really pay attention to our way before when my Mom and I were running. I was just running as fast as I could so I don’t know if we have passed here before. ..

I was running when a wolf came out of nowhere and strangled me. I was struggling to free myself but this wolf is huge and powerful. Wait, I think I have seen this wolf before. It’s the old pack’s alpha! Oh no!

’Oh, no!’ Rein said.

The wolf transformed into human form and stood up. He was given clothes by one of the soldiers.

“Look who we have here. We thought we were wrong when we followed a trail you left but we weren’t.” He said. I saw that pack soldiers were surrounding us.

“Let me go!” I said. “You already killed my parents, what do you want from me?”

“We want to know what you know so you have to tell us or else we’ll kill you.” He said.

“I don’t know anything okay?” I said. It was true. “Dad didn’t tell us anything about him being a spy.”

“Shut up! Bring her to the pack’s cell and do not let her run away.” He said.

“No! Please, believe me! I don’t know anything!” I screamed but it was like he was deaf. He didn’t even look at me. He just continued walking.

“No! Let me go! I didn’t do anything! Please!” I pleaded but no one listened. They brought me and locked me in the cell underground. I kept on shouting and pleading with them to let go of me but it’s not working. The guards outside my cell didn’t even look at me whenever I screamed.

What will happen to me now? I wished they just killed me than torture me and locked me in here. I wish I was dead than rot in this place.

“Xena!” I heard mom’s voice. God! Now I’m hallucinating. Mom is dead.

“Xena!” Mom’s voice became louder and felt real.

“Xena!” I heard her again. I went nearer where it was coming from. I saw her! Mom is alive! But, how is it possible? I saw them hit her like there was no tomorrow.

“Mom?! You’re alive?” I said while my tears were pooling continuously. She is alive!
