Thankfully Helen, the hipster waitress had given Nikki directions to the Belmont, which she's really thankful for because she doesn't have any idea to where to go. Belmont was an old hotel, but well kept.
As Lucien had promised, there was a room already waiting for her. There’d been a box on the nightstand, with a cell phone inside. She pulled out the card beneath it. You’ll need this. Lucien. Nikki flipped the phone open. Already charged.
How did he have time to get me a phone already? Nikki wondered.
Nikki threw her bag down on the floor, and leapt onto the bed the moment the door closed behind her. The hotel room was too quiet. There was silence, except for a faint buzzing from the television and its associated electronics. But the comfort of the bed was slowly seeping into her skin, and she drifted off.
When Nikki woke up the next morning, and het mind was filled with this overwhelming concept of high school, the strangest thing happened. She got off the elevator in the hotel lobby, and the manager fell in line with her.
“I just wanted to assure you, Ms. Young,” he said formally, and then he stopped.
So Nikki stopped, too. “Huh?”
He leaned forward—he was young and prematurely bald, only a few sparse hairs left on top. “Everything is being handled with the utmost discretion. Mr. Fallon indicated that you were to be left alone.” And then he winked, like both of them shared a secret or something.
“Uhm … that’s great,” Nikki said, since she really wasn’t sure what she was supposed to be saying. Nikki headed for the door, and the manager didn’t follow, so she figured that was the end of it.
Nikki bought a bagel at the corner café near the hotel, but skipped the coffee. She was already nervous and a little jittery, and sje figured the coffee would make it worse.
The high school was one big, long rectangular prison of dark bricks and somber windows. It looked more appropriate for a funeral home than a high school, but no one had asked for her opinion.
Nikki glanced at herself in the main building’s glass windows as she shuffled her way to the door. She thought she looked the part of any normal high school student now. Although her hair was a little long, and her clothes still had that brand-new, never-been-washed look, like she was trying too hard.
No one paid her any attention. There seemed to be more going on than interest in an unfamiliar face.
Checking in at the office was easy, but Nikki had the sneaking suspicion that everyone kept staring at her. And they couldn’t get her out of there fast enough—it was almost like they were afraid of being seen with her.
People in this town are strange. It was like they thought Nikki was someone else. She headed back out of the office and nearly ran into someone.
And she grimaced when she saw who it is.
"Y-you..."
It's the perverted bastard from yesterday!

Calvin threw his self on the sofa and took a deep breath. Another day had gone by but the pain still didn't lessened.
"You okay?"
Calvin ignored Rey as he straightened his back, he lean his head to the sofa and closed his eyes.
"Kane's still at work?"
Sighing, and forcefully opening his eyes he looked at his friend Rey. Gone was the usual craziness, and his back again to his original calm and mature nature. He wanted to laugh at his brother friend's antics but he knew his doing it all for him.
The whole school probably thought of Rey Velarde as the stand up comedian of their little group, but he's actually the most serious of them all.
And he's probably doing it for him, but he’s too scared to ask why. He didn't want to hear his reasons. Sometimes ignorance is a bliss.
"Does he knew what you're doing?"
Snorting, he barked out. "Knowing him, mostly."
"And he never told you to stop."
Calvin laughed, and hee saw Rey flinched. Because he sounds so broken and fragile he must have known he cross the line.
"Sorry Cal—"
"Stop it, okay. I'm fine. I knew what I'm doing. It probably doesn't make sense but nothing does anymore, okay? Just let me be. Please." Calvin plead.
Calvin didn't say it outloud but his expression must have been very clear because Rey suddenly walked to him and haul him on his feet.
"Stop doing this Caleb. You can't do this to yourself. I know how hard it is for you, because she's your fiancee and best friend and she's a very great person but she will not want this for you. You have a great future ahead of you. Don't ruined it by your thirst for vengeance!"
Angry, and sorrow filled his heart. And he can feel his eyes stings. Pushing Rey's hand, Calvin growled, "Janette was everything to me. She was my destiny. You knew that, and I won't rest, until I find the bastard who did this to her. Yes, I wanted vengeance. Because nothing will happen if I wait for our law to help me get the justice my omega deserves. If I could do it. I will do it in a heartbeat.."
"And do you even think what will happen to you, huh? What if you get yourself killed instead? Those who killed her were not normal. Anyone knows the law about Omegas but whoever it is that killing them clearly doesn't care. So what do you think they will do to you? Huh?! You're just a young werewolf in their eyes!"
And that stung. Rey was right. And Calvin knew that. He's not just dumb kid. He knew what he's doing. But really, did he have to hear that from him. He considered him a friend. They grew up together. Rey knew what their relationship was like. How she truly love Janette, despite everything started as arranged by his father since . So why he couldn't trust him? Why not support him? Because he's not Kane.
"Get. Out."
"Cal—"
"GET THE f**k OUT!!!"
Rey flinched. His body shaking. He's just a beta so he can't took an Alpha's anger head on and his Alpha’s demand. He can only follow.
He didn't knew how he spend his night after that. He didn't even remember how he got to his room or what time he got to sleep. The next thing he knew he's already walking at their school's hallway and talking to Rayne.
Looking upfront he was startled when he saw the girl he met the other day.
That cute mix Asian girl, who was definitely Rey's type.
And remembering Rey.. Their last conversation. The way he handled it like a spoiled brat.
Gosh. Rey was only worried.
"Rayne, did you see Rey?"
"Rey?" Rayne chuckled. "Doubt it. After yesterday, he's not gonna show his face, anytime soon."
"What an idiot." Calvin thought to himself. But it's probably for the best that Rey stop caring about him. There's a lot of bad things he planned to do and he couldn't drag someone like Rey with him. He's more suited to be with Kane anyways.
He turn and look at that kid again, when he felt someone looking at him. They eyes met. And Calvin was startled by how pretty it is.
What is her name again?? Hmm.
Hmm.
It's on the tip of his tongue but he can't—
Oh. Right, Nikki.
"Well. Well. Nikki. It's a surprise. I didn't think I will see you soon. Are you stalking me perhaps?"
"H--huh?"
Calvin watched her, and after a while new feelings started to surge within him. Doubts slowly come in. And it's starting to cloud his vision. Calvin knew what kind of school Bridget Academy was. That's why he couldn't understand why someone like Nikki was here.
She's wearing branded clothes. Even her backpack and shoes. She looked elegant. Stylish. And probably came from a rich family. So why she choose their school?
Calvin and Kane is here even though their father is a CEO of a big corporation, because of personal reasons. What's Nikki's reason then?
"Do you really like me that much? Huh? Cutie. Or maybe you wanted more of what I did last time... Hmm." he didn't mean those words but after what happened last night with Rey, he lash out to the most unfortunate person. He wanted to take back what he said but before words could leave him, he suddenly find himself falling, his chest aching, and if it's not for Rayne he's probably on the floor now.
He gaped at the small girl glaring down at him. Flabbergasted.
What the f**k just happened?
He's a f*****g werewolf and an Alpha to boot, so how did this tiny human kicked him with so much force he actually had fallen down.
