(Amira)
I was awoken by a knocking at the door, making me groan as buried my face in Kamaris's side, feeling like I wasn't ready to get up yet...can't a girl sleep in around here...
"It must be Alden with the food." Kamaris laughed before placing a kiss on my head.
I felt his magic move through me as his shadows caressed my skin before a dull light turned on above us, making me blink my eyes open. I was now dressed in a black silk pajama shirt and Kamaris wore the matching bottoms.
I sat up, pulling the sheet over my bare legs as Kamaris opened the door, letting Alden come in and set the food on the coffee table.
"Any word?" Kamaris asked as Alden turned to look at him.
I sat awkwardly in the bed as they spoke in front of me. This was new, usually Kamaris handles his business away from me.
"Word is the Lord and Lady of light are now occupying Dolus for the time being. They will be announcing their allegiance to one another. Your brother is claiming to be the new Lord of Dolus." Alden said, he was trying to keep a straight face but I could see how ridiculous he thought it all to be.
Kamaris smiled wryly, glancing towards me briefly.
"Let him be lord, it will be much sweeter to strip him of his fake title once this is all over." He said with a smile and Alden couldn't help but smile back.
He turned to me, bowed briefly, and then left the room, making me blink my eyes in shock at his gesture.
"Why did Alden bow to me?" I asked curiously..that was new.
Kamaris suddenly slid out of bed and went to pick me up. After I was in his arms. he promptly wrapped my legs around his waist and held onto me tightly.
"You know I can walk." I grumbled before looking at him.
Kamaris just leaned forward, biting my lip playfully, and proceeded to walk me towards the couch, not even bothering to comment on it.
"Alden bowed to you because he knows you are more than a lord's lover." He said seriously.
I wanted to ask what I was exactly but I couldn't build up my nerves. He sat me on the couch and I swiftly lifted the lid off of the food.
Inside was a beautifully cooked omelet with some fruit on the side. The food in Alysian seemed like dishes you would pay hundreds of dollars for and only eat on special occasions. Now I was eating this stuff every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also for free, I might add.
"You are right, I am also your personal assistant." I mumbled playfully before grabbing the fork and bringing a bite of food to his lips.
He looked at me with a puzzled expression before taking the bite.
"What is that?" He asked me curiously..I almost had forgotten there were some things in my old world that they probably didn't have here.
"It's kind of like a maid or servant...like I do all of the tasks you ask of me. It would be my job." I explained as he chewed slowly.
Next kamaris pulled the fork from my hand and narrowed his eyes at me.
"Well then technically I have been your personal assistant the last few days." He stabbed a strawberry on his fork and brought it to my mouth.
I smiled and laughed as he shoved the food into my mouth and I ate it hungrily. I started to feel playful the more I got to know Kamaris, the witty things I thought coming out as I felt braver to speak my mind.
"I pay you well then don't I?" I asked innocently, smiling as he chuckled at me. He leaned into me, kissing me sweetly on the lips.
"A little too well if you ask me." He added slyly, making me hit him playfully on the arm as my cheeks reddened.
I had already fallen so hard for this man...
If this was in my old world I would be calling him baby and buying us matching t-shirts. Just then I looked down and realized we were already at the t-shirt stage. I stifled my laugh and took another bite.
"What's so funny?" He asked, glancing at me sideways. I bit my lip, looking away, embarrassed by my own thoughts.
"Nothing." I said quickly, taking the fork from him and feeding him a bite..why did Alden only give us one fork? I feel like that was Kamaris's doing.
He glared at me, reaching out and grabbing my face as he kissed me roughly.
"Tell me." He ordered firmly, obviously unable to let it go.
I cleared my throat before looking away...feeling embarrassed.
"I was just thinking, pretty soon we would be getting matching clothes and calling each other sweet names..like baby or something." I explained while looking at the wall.
"Then I realized we already did wear matching clothes, so I laughed." I said with a soft smile.
Kamaris blinked at me, confusion filling him.
"Baby? Why would you say I'm an infant?" He asked in the most serious tone, making me burst into laughter before covering my laugh. I tried so hard to stifle it as I looked at him.
Wow..why was he so adorable?
"In my world, baby was like a pet name. Like you say it when you like someone." I said softly, grabbing the water and drinking it quickly. He blinked at me, his eyes searching my expression as I set the glass down.
"Just forget it...It was a joke." I added before waving my hand in the air dismissively. He grabbed my palm, holding it steadily.
"How can I forget it now baby Anira?" He said in the most serious tone, his eyes looking into mine as my heart burst. My hand went up to my mouth again, hiding the giggle I was about to explode with.
I turned looking at the food, my cheeks burning red from the words he spoke.
"Did I say it wrong baby Amira?" He leaned into me, reaching his hand out as he poked my cheek.
"Why are your cheeks red baby?"
I rolled back on the couch trying to hide myself.
"Okay stop saying it now." I said covering my face with my hands. This was too much, my heart couldn't handle it. Kamaris leaned down, hovering over me as he whispered into my ear.
"I quite like it now baby, it's grown on me." He moved my hands quickly, smiling widely as he leaned in kissing my face. He started on my cheeks and made his way over to my nose.
"I like seeing you flustered." He added sweetly..he knew exactly what he was doing. I looked at him frowning, crossing my arms as I narrowed my eyes at him.
"You always find new ways to torment me don't you?" I grumbled while looking into his eyes, watching him grin wider than ever before.
"You know my favorite though." He said wickedly, bending down and taking my bottom lip between his teeth before I could pull away and quickly bit down hard. I yelped as he sucked my lip gently, causing a soft moan to leave me as his eyes flashed.
After pulling away, seeming thoroughly satisfied, he reached down and grabbed the fork before feeding me once more.
I felt hot and flustered as my lip started to throb. This interaction with Kamaris right here was one of my favorites so far. The way he loosened up around me and wasn't afraid to speak his mind.
My heart felt full, and I had a huge grin on my face that just wouldn't go away. I was truly happy, I hadn't felt this comfortable and free since my mom was alive. After that I always had to watch what I said or how I acted, afraid I might do something wrong and my father would get angry or upset.
Then after coming here and meeting Kamaris, I had hope, I began to come alive again in those woods where we would meet.
But the moment I got out of there, it was as if I were back right where I started. Afraid of what to say or do, that familiar trauma resurfaced as I suffered through new challenges.
Now looking at Kamaris, he was like a different man.
"As much as I want to stay in this room with you all day..I have a few things I have to go over with Cinead today." Kamaris informed me after we finished our meal.
I reached up and brushed his hair behind his shoulder before nodding my head in understanding.
"Well, while you do that..maybe I can spend some time with Stella today? Before we have to leave?" I asked softly, knowing it was a long shot to even ask.
Kamaris frowned heavily as his eyes darkened. "You're not going to sit in my lap the whole time?" He asked sadly, making me hide the laugh that wanted to escape me.
"I think that might be a bit of a distraction, considering the seriousness of the situation right?" I asked, causing a deep sigh to escape his full lips.
"Okay, but Alden will accompany you..and perhaps..if you promise to be good..Stella can take you to the shopping pavilion in the oasis." He added softly, making me sit up straighter as my eyes widened in shock.
"R..Really?!" I gasped, making Kamaris nod up and down as I threw myself into his arms.
"Thank you! I promise I will be good." I said excitedly as Kamaris stroked my hair gently.
"I know you will be..I trust you, my love." Those words he just said meaning more to me than he will ever know..he trusts me..
"I trust you too Kamaris with all of my heart."
