chapter 16

Jaden pov

I was listening to her about how my attitude stinks. I knew it did but it's going to take time for me to get used to having a mate. I hope she will understand this. I agreed to only one guard when she goes out tomorrow morning, but it still makes me wonder what and where she is going and what she will be doing, I will just ask the guard when they get back. if she won't tell me he will. Unless she orders him not to. but then again, I can order him to tell me. I was shocked when she asked if I wanted to go for a run to let our lycans out, I knew Shadow has been wanting to spend time with Alyssa lycan. he's been pestering me about it, i was going to ask if she wanted to but she asked first, I felt like she was reading my mind. I better say something before she thinks I turned mute.

‘Of course. I know Shadow has been wanting to spend some time with your lycan, they need to bond and so do we." She agreed about the bonding part with the lycans,. we went outside into the woods that surrounded the kingdom. We took our clothes off then shifted, I was a black lycan with a little white on my head that looked like a crown. She was a silver lycan with silver eyes. Silver lycans are rare. They have powers like no other. I wonder if she knew. I wasn’t going to ask her right now. I wanted Shadow and Mariah to spend time together,

Shadow Jadens lycan pov

It had been so long to be out to go for a run. The last time we did this was when he lost it and he let me take control. I went on a rampage because not only he did. But I also lost my mate. I missed my mate just like he does. But I have another chance and I want to take that chance, so we began to run through the woods. I caught up to her after a few minutes. We hunted a few bears and then ran some more. she even nuzzled my neck inhaling my scent. That drove me nuts. as i softly growled into her ear, she raised an eyebrow. I could swear she smirked at me. We began to run again until we came to a clearing with a pond in the middle. we drank from the water then set to rest. I knew she wanted to talk to me, but I wanted to ask her so much. so I started first,

“Has your human decided that she will be staying? I don't want to lose my mate right when I found her.”

“I don’t know. I do know that she is fed up already with his rudeness and disrespect toward her, he had no right growling at her like he did yesterday. all she wanted was to do something in the honor of his late mate.”

‘Mariah, You must understand. Jaden and Katrine were teenage sweethearts, they dated when they were young. Everyone knew they were mates before they even did. once they shifted they claimed each other. They were together for almost two hundred years. Until the rogue king came and destroyed everything. You see, He wanted everything that Jaden had, including his mate. Once he knew he couldn't have it all. He started a war, a horrible war. He had his rogues sneak into the castle and destroy everything including Katrine, they Stabbed her then cut her throat. When he got back to the castle because he felt the pain, guards were hiding her body because they did not want him to see what they did to her. when he saw. Once he buried her. We went a little crazy. His sister is the one that found him near her grave wanting her to wake up and come back to him. But we knew she wouldn't and couldn't not unless the moon goddess allowed it. Janice ran to him and held him while he cried. it took a long time for him to recover, then we found you. I wanted you. I wanted to claim you, but he wasn't ready, then the damn elders came and forced us to find you. We did not want some skank beside us, we wanted you. I often thought about you. I wondered if you were okay, how you were doing. how Alyssa was doing, He won't admit it to her, But he often thought about her as well, He came so close to having the hunters go find her to bring her back. but he was worried that the rogue king would come and destroy his life again. Now he is determined to keep her safe, if she wants to work out or train. She is more than welcome. You See Katrine never wanted to train, she said that training was for the men. that she knew that he would protect her. but he wasn’t able to and the rogue king somehow knew that she was alone. We told her to go into the safe room. We don't know why she wasn't there, but we have a feeling he had a spy in the castle. we just can't figure out who it is.

Mariah. Alyssa lycan pov

I sit there listening to my mate, I finally understand how much Jaden loved his mate. And why he acted the way he did. But he still had no right to be the way he was that day. When he was done talking it was my turn to tell him about Alyssa's life, I hope she did not mind me telling him. we had them blocked for awhile so we could spend time together but they still could reach out to each other.

“I understand now why he talked to her like that. I know he still loves Katrina. but the sounds of it, she was set up someone kept her from that safe room that's how they got to her. But you see. Alyssa is a fighter she does not hide she has never hid her entire life, when she was only sixteen her father died. What we understood was that the rogues got to him and stabbed him with silver knives. When they buried him that day, that's when Alyssa felt so alone. The time they got home right when they walked into the door, her mother kicked her out. she only gave her a few minutes to pack a bag and get out, She tried looking for jobs, but no one wanted to hire a sixteen year old lycan, So she had no choice to do what she did to earn money to live, she did not want to be a rogue, so she hired trainers to teach her how to fight, she promised them once she wins her first fight she will pay them back,”

‘Mariah. What does she do for a living?” I knew she was wondering. but first he had to swear not to tell Jaden until she was ready to tell him. so i made him swear on the kingdom's people.

"First you have to promise me that you will never tell Jaden until she is ready to tell him herself, she would be so mad at me if he finds out.”

“Mariah. I swear to the people of the kingdom I will not tell him. But i need to know that way i know she is safe,”

She is an underground fighter. she has been doing this since she was seventeen years old, one night she got so angry. She was only seventeen when she shifted. Female lycans are not supposed to shift until the age of nineteen, but she shifted when she was seventeen, she has won many fights, also lost. but that doesn't stop her, she is a badass fighter. You see she has kept herself safe until I arrived, and then we both kept each other safe,”

“I understand Mariah, Now I know why she had a good right hook. she shocked Jaden when she punched him. I told him not to blow his top but he did, and looked at what happened. I think it's time to head back my love, But I loved spending time with you. I hope they will let us out again so we could talk.”

‘So Do I. the more she lets me out, the stronger she will get and I will get,’ We headed back to the edge of the woods so we could shift back to our human forms, once shifted they got dressed, to my surprise, they held hands while they walked back to the castle, now what in the world did they talk about while we were out in the open.
