Janice pov
I was all ready for this damn thing to be over with. These ladies have been standing out here for hours now. Some were dressed like they were heading out to stand by the road for someone to pick them up, so I walked to where my brother was. He was looking out the other window. He looked over at me. He only shook his head.
‘I'll be in the throne room sitting in that hard ass chair they call a throne, is everything ready in the royal hall. im sure those ladies will be hungry when they come inside,”
“Yeah, everything is ready. just get in there. they're not supposed to see you until I let them,” he nodded and walked to the throne room. He just wanted to get this over with like I do, i took a deep breath and I walked toward the doors. I prayed to the moon goddess that she was right. that she will come because these women are out there. I rolled my eyes, then my hands gripped the handles to the doors, then I opened them. the women hushed when the doors opened and I walked out side toward the steps, i stood on the top step and started talking,
‘Alright ladies. listen up. Because i'm only going to say this once, the doors are open so you can go inside. But do not touch anything, you walk inside and follow this lady right here, i pointed at Susie that was standing beside me, she will take you to the grand hall, the doors will be closed until i get there. do not nag, roll your eyes, or say anything unlady like is that clear.?” they all said yes. “Alright very well, line up and start walking inside, no hurrying or pushing, take your time,” I looked up just as somone came rushing toward the line, she turned when someone called her, they looked like they were arguing. and the older lady walked away but not to far away she was watching her, i didnt like that woman one bit, neither did my lycan Bella, she growled when she looked through my eyes,
“I do not like her Janice. I don't know why. but i don't like her,”
“just stay calm. she will leave soon enough. as soon as all the ladies where inside the last one walked inside, she nodded and smiled at me, i liked what she was wearing leather black pants and a black see through shirt, with knee high boots her hair was in a high messy bun with some hair hanging around her face, I could tell she wasn't like the others that came through this door. I looked back toward that woman that was standing, she was gone but Bella said she's not to far away,
"I'll have the guards watch her, she will not be causing any problems. I went to change but before I did. I walked up to that girl.
"I love your outfit. It suits you. I know the king will like you. You don't seem like these vultures here," with that I walked off to get changed, I thought hell why not, it's one way to test these girls. So I changed into something like that girl. But I didn't wear an undershirt, I wore a black bra. My hair was put up in a ponytail, I was ready, I linked Jaden and told him what I was doing. He agreed and couldn't wait for them to leave, I asked If he could smell his mate's scent. He said no, but he was sure he would when she was closer. I walked toward the royal hall but I didn't go to the doors, I linked Susie to open the doors to let the ladies inside the hall. Their dinner was waiting for them on the table, I was in the back waiting to hear them walk inside. when they did, i waited for them to sit and eat, i waited thirty minutes making sure there food was done, and the wine, was finished, i walked up on stage standing there looking at everyone,
Alyssa pov
It had been a long day and all I wanted was to get this done and over with. I walked into the castle and I smiled at the woman that let us inside. i didn't think she would walk up to me and told me my outfit suited me she could tell i wasn't like the other ladies that the king would like me, did she know who I was, could he tell I was here, i was getting nervous and all i wanted to do was run out that door and leave,
“Don't you dare! He doesn't know we are here yet.I made sure of that Alyssa. he will know when it is our turn to go inside. He needs us Alyssa, don’t be scared he won't hurt us.”
“Yeah, that's what you say now, but we are not there yet. the lady was opening the door, let's just go in there and sit in the way back. maybe they will forget about me,”
“I doubt that. Stop being so scared and walk your fine ass inside that hall.”
The woman named Susie opened the wide doors and let us inside. I looked around and saw a table in the way back. That's my cue. I walked all the way back and sat at the table. There was food on a plate, so I said screw it, it was lobster tail and shrimp, I made sure I ate every bit of it too. There were some of the ladies that sat at the table with me. They looked like they didn't even want to be here either, but they began to eat just like everyone else did, there was water in a glass I. A northern glass was wine. I drank the water, I wasn't in the mood to drink, I wanted a clear head when I got rejected, that way I could get the hell out of here and drive away. It took only a few minutes for the same woman that spoke to me to walk up on the stage. Everyone looked up at her. some even snickered and smirked, some even said,
“Look at her. The king will never have her, she looks too slutty. He will just have fun and throw her away. Some laughed, others just called her names. That's when the guards came up, took them from their seats and rushed them out the door. The lady cleared her throat. We all looked up on stage.
“Alright ladies, we had cleared the trash out of here. Let's get down to business. You are all here today to meet the king. He is looking for his mate. Once he finds his mate there will be no more royal mating balls unless his child grows up and looks for their mate. The king needs his mate. So let's get ready there are rules in the castle, so let's get this over with,”
The rules are, there will be no bricking or arguing, no making fun of anyone, if they get rejected if i see you laugh, you will be ordered to leave, being rejected is not a laughing matter, and like i said before. do not touch anything. you are a guest in our home, if you break anything you will need to pay for that, and i know you do not have the money to do so. so you will be working in the palace until it's paid off. Now my brother does need to find his mate. Once found he will be talking to you about a few things. so let's get ready to do this. the faster we get this done. the faster we can go on with our lives,
so i want the front row to stand up please. and follow Susie to the other door., i will inform my brother that we are about to start.
