5. Oh no

I stood up and was ready to walk away when dad grabbed my hand and stopped me before I could take a step.

"Sit down, Ara," he said firmly. I sat right back but I glared at mum. Everyone was quiet, silence enveloped us all after mum spoke up. The others knew this was a sensitive topic for me and I had loved Kade so much, and he crushed my heart like it was nothing.

I choose to look at no one in particular as I blinked back tears. Hearing her say those words brought back memories I tried so hard to forget about. What made it even worse for me was seeing his face.

" Melanie apologises to Ara, you know what Kade did to her and I can never allow her to get married to such a man. Have you forgotten what she went through when she found out? don't tell me you have?" Dad scolded mum like Kade wasn't there. I looked to the marbled floor, I sighed dad snaked his hands around my shoulder. I loved the support system I got from dad. Its like mum had forgotten the kind of trauma I went through after I found out. I was so much in love with Kade and now I am stuck loving Levi a man I know I will never have cause he has a girlfriend what was worse was that even when we were both single he never bothered to ask me out as if to rub it in he called me his little sister.

Mum kept her mouth shut but I could tell she didn't agree with dad, on this one they never agreed.

" Well not that this is over let's play a game as a family what do you all think?" Liam asked. He spoke as though things didn't get awkward a few moments ago. I shot him a sharp glare he was the cause of this, and he smirked in my direction.

" What game are you suggesting?" My younger sister Stella butt in. I was surprised she didn't say a thing after mum's comment.

" I am thinking of something spicy we can make up something spicy, don't you think?" Liam's eyes lit up as he spoke. I didn't like this. I felt like he was up to something.

" Spill already...." I finally spoke up after being quiet for a while. I passed Liam a bored look and once again, he smirked in my direction he was up to something. I just couldn't pinpoint what exactly.

" Well, what about something like we all write dares on a piece of paper and never have I ever on another piece of paper. We will put the dares in one box and the never have I ever in the other box. So what we will do after that, is we will be taking turns picking never have I ever papers and whoever is found guilty gets to pick a dare instead of drinking. How about that?" Liam explained with an excited expression. It was a great idea that I knew and it was exciting." oh and I forgot something " he gestured his hands. " When the dare says something you can't back out you have to do it."

We all agreed, I hoped it would be fun it has been a long since we did this and given that we were all here it was the best time. Cause mostly mum and dad spent the months alone.

We all wrote on paper carefully enough to hide what dare and what never have I ever we each wrote. To make the game even more interesting we each wrote seven dares on seven different papers. We were seven after all.

The game began and mum was the first to pick a paper in the paper box made by Liam.

" Never have I ever smoked weed. " She read, we all gave each other weird looks. Who would choose to write such a thing? Surprisingly mum and Stella picked a dare. This was a surprise for us all mostly mum, we all frowned in mum's direction except dad who was unfazed. She simply shrugged but glared at Stella. " You will talk to me after this game miss." She told Stella sternly.

" I have been dared to break up with my boyfriend for an hour without telling him why." Stella read on her paper. All our eyes went wide whoever wrote that is sick.

She got her phone and phone her boyfriend Bruce who she has been dating for a while. The phone rang twice before it was picked up only it wasn't Bruce on the phone.

'Hello, who is this ?' A lady picked up.

" This is Bruce's girlfriend and who are you?" Stella asked. I was surprised she didn't freak out the moment she heard a woman's voice.

' I am his cousin he left the phone with me, do you have a message you would love me to pass to him?' her calm voice came through the phone speaker.

" Yeah, " Stella twirled a lock of hair in her right hand. Something she did whenever was nervous about something. " Tell him I am breaking up with him, I don't have many reasons to give him but after two hours I can do that." She cut the call instantly, smooth like butter.

Our mouths hang open, we were all surprised she was bold enough to go through with it. She exhaled heavily.

"Wow, I can't believe I said that. " She smiled nervously.

"Yeah, neither can we. " Kade and dad said at the same time.

"Oh well," she shrugged "Mum it's your turn."

Mum smiled sheepishly. " Lucky me, I have picked a dare to kiss anyone I want and sorry for you all, you will watch me kiss my husband. Come here, Kelvin." She ushered dad close to her cheerfully and kissed him right on his lips.

" EWW!!!" we all shouted and then looked away.

" You can look now we have pulled away. You'll behaving as though you have kissed kissed other people before." Dad commented.

" I have never kissed anyone before," I said quickly. This earned me snickers from everyone in the room.

" As if!" Kade murmured. Everyone burst out laughing cause they knew what used to happen between me and him.

It was Noah's turn to pick a never have I ever. He closed his eyes and randomly picked, he said so he would pick something he wouldn't be guilty of.

" Never have I ever had s*x in a bush."

Noah sighed and he was the only one to pick a dare. This one made all of us laugh and surprised he did something this crazy.

I frowned at him. " How come I don't know about this? when I tell you about all my crazy moments." I felt offended In a way he didn't let me in his secrets while I shared with him everything.

He shrugged. " I guess you just never asked."

so we were playing this game. " oh okay." I replied simply as that.

He picked a dare, " I have been dared to send five hundred dollars to Stella's account."

we all glared at her, "Stella." Noah whined.

She shrugged, " What I am broke. " She simply mumbled, without any sign of guilt on her face.

" I hope you didn't write that on every dare. " I warned her.

" Why didn't I think of that?" She asked.

I sent her a sharp glare and which she chose to ignore. Noah made the transaction and her phone dinged.

"Happy now. " Noah asked.

" Very much, I wouldn't go having s*x in the bush again if I were you Noah you know there are snakes there and they bite especially handsome big bros like you. " She remarked, we all knew it was to taunt him. Mum reprimanded her instantly shutting her up.

Next, it was Kade to pick a never have I.

He shuffled the box once more and he reached out, he held the folded piece of paper between his fingers. We were all eager to know what this one read. I was lucky enough I had not been guilty to any of the never have I ever picked.

" Never have I ever swam naked. " His deep soothing voice read. Even though I detested Kade my body seemed to react to his soothing voice.

I controlled myself, I couldn't let him notice this.

I reached out a picked a dare, I guess I wasn't so lucky after all. Luckily I wasn't the only one who picked, dad and Liam picked too. Now, this was getting interesting until I read what my dare was saying. I instantly pursed my lips I didn't like this one bit.

" I have been dared to prepare or buy dinner since I can't back out dinner is on me guys!" Dad spoke out. I wish I got that dare instead, I would have even taken everyone out to a very nice serene eating place. But no I picked the worst of the worst.

" I have been dared to wash anyone's cars here..." Liam's lips pursed in a thin line I bet he hated his dare. I snickered at him this was nice I would make sure I watched him do it.

" Don't just laugh at me Ara read your dare. " Liam shot back.

My mood instantly sulked I hated this dare more than anything. Even washing cars was better than this.

" I have been dared to confess to my crush that I love him or her." I read the paper that felt like a heavy block that I couldn't put down even if I wanted to.

It was Liam's turn to laugh at me everyone was just quiet. I briefly glanced at Kade and his piercing grey eyes were already on me. I instantly looked away and got my phone. My hands shook as I held the phone in my hand I was so scared. Come on I was a twenty-three-year-old lady and I couldn't confess to Levi that I had fallen in love with him.

Why was I so unlucky right now?

I dialled his number and he instantly picked up. " Ara," he said cheerfully. " I have missed you, you know am glad you called. " From the corner of my eye, I noticed Kade freeze.

His attention was fully on me and to make matters worse my phone was on loud so that everyone would hear what was being said. Why did I feel like I would be embarrassed after this confrontation?

I swallowed hard. " Uhh.." I murmured.

Everyone gave me encouraging looks, I knew Liam and Stella were to mock me they often did that. "Yeah..." I said nervously picking my nails.

" Ara speak up, I can't hear you. Is it something to do with business? " He asked calmly.

" No " I squeaked involuntarily. "IloveyouLeviIalwayshaveihopedyouwouldseemedifferentlyandnotjustasister," I uttered at automated speed.

" I didn't catch that you are speaking too fast can you slow down a bit. " Levi explained.

Everyone mouthed, 'slow down yeah' and nodded their head. It was worse that everyone was here.

I blew out some air and took in another deep breath.

" I said that I am in love with you Levi, I have always been in love with you. But you never look at me like that and I hoped one day you would." I altered the words a bit though the meaning was still the same.

I noticed Kade harden, he was beyond pissed and hurt. News flash people move on.

The line went quiet then it was dead.
