4. Mum asks a question

1447 Words
Arabelle I was outside the house admiring the flower garden mum kept. She had taken such great care of it that I was amused. "You still look as beautiful as ever." That annoying voice that I knew too well disturbed my peace. I turned and faced the man I hated. "What do you want Kade?" I asked him. He ignored me and walked around me the picked a random red rose " For you." I rolled my eyes and ignored his outstretched hand. " I don't want anything that has been touched by you. You have tainted it. " I didn't care if I was being rude to him. His piercing grey eyes bore into mine and I glared right back. " Will you ever forgive me, Ara?" He suddenly asked. " No never, you don't deserve my forgiveness. Maybe in our next life. " " I will have you begging for me one day?" He commented. He gritted his teeth and fisted his palm in a tight ball. " It's good that day ain't today. But you know what keep on dreaming it's good to have a wild imagination." I taunted him. He smirked and was suddenly near me and whispered in my ear." We will see about that." His breath fanned my cheek and his lips lightly caressed my ear. I held my breath. Why was there a shocking spark whenever his skin touched mine? Not wanting to fall for his devious charms again I stepped away from him. He was hot and he knew it, in his sick way he used that as a way to get anyone he wanted. In Kade's world, the word no never existed. He gave me a once over before he walked off dragging his feet in that sexy grey suit he chose to wear today. There was no denying he was a walking Adonis he seemed to have it all being the eldest in his family made it even better for him. He was the successor of his family's business then he was just a millionaire but after he added his hard work he began a billionaire. Every woman in New York wanted to be a woman. Those that knew I belonged to him hated me with a passion. I looked away from him, the less I watched him the better, that ship already sailed I could never get back on it. Never. Seeing Kade here destroyed my good mood worse he had to sleep here with me. Why were they friends with my elder brother I could never understand? One question that bothered me is how Kade got stranded, how does that happen? It all didn't add up and getting stranded when I was home. I would have to ask my brother about that. I took for a straw along with the flower garden, the roses had grown so much. I need a bouquet of this when going back home. Mum's favourite hobby was growing all kinds of such that she even owned a shop in the town side where she sold all kinds of flowers. I could tell it was something she enjoyed doing and she was great at it. High pitched sound left my lips when I felt someone's hands snake around my waist. I must have been so lost in my thoughts I hadn't realised the person was near enough to even hug from behind. For the strong slender hands, I knew instantly it was Noah, his unique perfume scent made it all too clear. He laughed at my reaction like a maniac. "I didn't know I would scare you like that?" He laughed. " You should be paying more attention to your surroundings." He had a fair point but I didn't care. I elbowed his ribs and he let go of me. He grabbed the area I elbowed him and groaned. " Geez sis, do you have to be so rough with me?" " yep, Noah I gotta, " I turned around and gave him a tight hug. I had missed him so much it had been about two months since I last saw him. Work kept me busy most of the time. I had no choice but to continue working hard for the sake of my family. I didn't want us to go back in the dumps. " I missed you so much!" I said as i continued to hold him tight. "I missed you too Ara. " We finally pulled away. I tilted my head up to look into his unique green hazel eyes a similarity that only he and Liam had in the family. The rest of us were either grey or brown never in-between. We guessed they got the there eye colour from our grandma and pap. He ruffed my hair shoulder length hair making it all scruffy I swatted his hand away. lucky enough he removed his hand just in time. I glared at him he always did that just because he was three years older than me. He thought he could trouble me whenever he wanted. " You know what I ain't happy with you and Liam." I huffed, pursed my lips and folded my hands right under my boobs. He smiled sheepishly. " I know but we couldn't leave him there. He said his car was crushed when he was going to a town next to this one to visit a one old. And being Liam's good friend we couldn't just abandon him." He defended. My mouth hangs open. Okay, what now? I looked at him like what he said was the craziest thing ever. "This is Kade we are talking about." I retorted. He shrugged, he had a confused frown on his face. I facepalmed myself. " Seriously Noah, Kade is a billionaire. First of all, he never drives alone he always has those bodyguards and even if he was alone he could easily call his men to help him." I stressed my point and Noah didn't seem to get it. " In his defence, he said his men were on a day off and he didn't want disturbances where he was going. And his men were not picking up plus he was close to here that's why he asked his old long time best friend Liam to help him." I rolled me at his ridiculous explanation. " Oh please, it all doesn't add up. He has so many men and could have easily done that. Besides, why are you taking his side?" I asked, I was offended he would rather support Kade than me. Well offended by Liam for having a good heart. " I ain't taking his side. I am just trying to make you understand what he said. In his defence again he didn't know you were home too?" Noah was only making things worse for me. " It still doesn't add up. I will keep away from him." I replied to Noah. I groaned inwardly, I dreaded the time we would have dinner together with the family. It will be heart-wrenching. Worse mum will keep talking about why we should be together. I groaned once more and held my head. I didn't wanna go through all that. I glared at Noah before I walked off and out of the garden. He knew better than to stop me from my destination. I ended up on the outside swing. I swang slowly. I need to think of a way to avoid the family dinner. I couldn't go there not when the ex who cheated on me was there. I stayed there for a while before I headed inside the house. I reached the lounge and everyone sat there. Including the man who instantly destroyed my moods whenever I saw him. He sent me a cocky smile, and I flipped my middle finger in his direction while no one seemed to watch me as I entered the room. Kade faked a broken heart and had a deep frown on his handsome face. I mouthed 'Keep Dreaming.' With that, he fake fainted. A giggle escaped my lips and that drew everyone's attention. I looked away as everyone watched me. I blushed a little and hid my cheeks that I knew were tainted red. I hurried quickly and sat next to dad. He was my all-time favourite. " Ara now that Kade is here don't you think it's time you two worked things out? I would love him as a son in law! " Mum spoke. The sharpness of her voice almost made me wince. At that moment I just wished the ground would open up and swallow me. Way to go mum, way to go.
